¹And Bildad the Shuhite answered and said,

¹ויען בלדד השחי ויאמר׃

²Dominion and fear are with him; he maketh peace in his high places.

²המשל ופחד עמו עשה שלום במרומיו׃

³Is there any number of his troops? and upon whom doth not his light arise?

³היש מספר לגדודיו ועל מי לא יקום אורהו׃

⁴And how should man be just with ùGod? Or how should he be clean that is born of a woman?

⁴ומה יצדק אנוש עם אל ומה יזכה ילוד אשה׃

⁵Lo, even the moon is not bright; and the stars are not pure in his sight:

⁵הן עד ירח ולא יאהיל וכוכבים לא זכו בעיניו׃

⁶How much less man, a worm, and the son of man, a worm!

⁶אף כי אנוש רמה ובן אדם תולעה׃
