¹{To the chief Musician. Of David. A Psalm: a Song.} Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered, and let them that hate him flee before him.

¹למנצח לדוד מזמור שיר יקום אלהים יפוצו אויביו וינוסו משנאיו מפניו׃

²As smoke is driven, thou wilt drive them away; as wax melteth before the fire, the wicked shall perish at the presence of God.

²כהנדף עשן תנדף כהמס דונג מפני אש יאבדו רשעים מפני אלהים׃

³But the righteous shall rejoice: they shall exult before God and be glad with joy.

³וצדיקים ישמחו יעלצו לפני אלהים וישישו בשמחה׃

⁴Sing unto God, sing forth his name; cast up a way for him that rideth in the deserts: his name is Jah; and rejoice before him.

⁴שירו לאלהים זמרו שמו סלו לרכב בערבות ביה שמו ועלזו לפניו׃

⁵A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.

⁵אבי יתומים ודין אלמנות אלהים במעון קדשו׃

⁶God maketh the solitary into families; those that were bound he bringeth out into prosperity: but the rebellious dwell in a parched [land].

⁶אלהים מושיב יחידים ביתה מוציא אסירים בכושרות אך סוררים שכנו צחיחה׃

⁷O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness -- (Selah) --

⁷אלהים בצאתך לפני עמך בצעדך בישימון סלה׃

⁸The earth trembled, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God, yon Sinai, at the presence of God, the God of Israel.

⁸ארץ רעשה אף שמים נטפו מפני אלהים זה סיני מפני אלהים אלהי ישראל׃

⁹Thou, O God, didst pour a plentiful rain upon thine inheritance, and when it was weary thou strengthenedst it.

⁹גשם נדבות תניף אלהים נחלתך ונלאה אתה כוננתה׃

¹⁰Thy flock hath dwelt therein: thou hast prepared in thy goodness, for the afflicted, O God!

¹⁰חיתך ישבו בה תכין בטובתך לעני אלהים׃

¹¹The Lord gives the word: great the host of the publishers.

¹¹אדני יתן אמר המבשרות צבא רב׃

¹²Kings of armies flee; they flee, and she that tarrieth at home divideth the spoil.

¹²מלכי צבאות ידדון ידדון ונות בית תחלק שלל׃

¹³Though ye have lain among the sheepfolds, [ye shall be as] wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with green gold.

¹³אם תשכבון בין שפתים כנפי יונה נחפה בכסף ואברותיה בירקרק חרוץ׃

¹⁴When the Almighty scattered kings in it, it became snow-white as Zalmon.

¹⁴בפרש שדי מלכים בה תשלג בצלמון׃

¹⁵[As] mount Bashan is the mount of God, a many-peaked mountain, [as] mount Bashan.

¹⁵הר אלהים הר בשן הר גבננים הר בשן׃

¹⁶Why do ye look with envy, ye many-peaked mountains, upon the mount that God hath desired for his abode? yea, Jehovah will dwell [there] for ever.

¹⁶למה תרצדון הרים גבננים ההר חמד אלהים לשבתו אף יהוה ישכן לנצח׃

¹⁷The chariots of God are twenty thousand, thousands upon thousands; the Lord is among them: it is a Sinai in holiness.

¹⁷רכב אלהים רבתים אלפי שנאן אדני בם סיני בקדש׃

¹⁸Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts in Man, and even [for] the rebellious, for the dwelling [there] of Jah Elohim.

¹⁸עלית למרום שבית שבי לקחת מתנות באדם ואף סוררים לשכן יה אלהים׃

¹⁹Blessed be the Lord: day by day doth he load us [with good], the ùGod who is our salvation. Selah.

¹⁹ברוך אדני יום יום יעמס לנו האל ישועתנו סלה׃

²⁰Our ùGod is the ùGod of salvation; and with Jehovah, the Lord, are the goings forth [even] from death.

²⁰האל לנו אל למושעות וליהוה אדני למות תוצאות׃

²¹Verily God will smite the head of his enemies, the hairy scalp of him that goeth on still in his trespasses.

²¹אך אלהים ימחץ ראש איביו קדקד שער מתהלך באשמיו׃

²²The Lord said, I will bring again from Bashan, I will bring [them] again from the depth of the sea;

²²אמר אדני מבשן אשיב אשיב ממצלות ים׃

²³That thou mayest dip thy foot in blood: the tongue of thy dogs has its portion from enemies.

²³למען תמחץ רגלך בדם לשון כלביך מאיבים מנהו׃

²⁴They have seen thy goings, O God, the goings of my ùGod, my King, in the sanctuary.

²⁴ראו הליכותיך אלהים הליכות אלי מלכי בקדש׃

²⁵The singers went before, the players on stringed instruments after, in the midst of maidens playing on tabrets.

²⁵קדמו שרים אחר נגנים בתוך עלמות תופפות׃

²⁶In the congregations bless ye God, the Lord, -- [ye] from the fountain of Israel.

²⁶במקהלות ברכו אלהים יהוה ממקור ישראל׃

²⁷There is little Benjamin, their ruler; the princes of Judah, their company; the princes of Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali.

²⁷שם בנימן צעיר רדם שרי יהודה רגמתם שרי זבלון שרי נפתלי׃

²⁸Thy God hath commanded thy strength: strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us.

²⁸צוה אלהיך עזך עוזה אלהים זו פעלת לנו׃

²⁹Because of thy temple at Jerusalem shall kings bring presents unto thee.

²⁹מהיכלך על ירושלם לך יובילו מלכים שי׃

³⁰Rebuke the beast of the reeds, the assembly of the strong, with the calves of the peoples: [every one] submitteth himself with pieces of silver. Scatter the peoples that delight in war.

³⁰גער חית קנה עדת אבירים בעגלי עמים מתרפס ברצי כסף בזר עמים קרבות יחפצו׃

³¹Great ones shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall quickly stretch out her hands unto God.

³¹יאתיו חשמנים מני מצרים כוש תריץ ידיו לאלהים׃

³²Ye kingdoms of the earth, sing unto God; sing psalms of the Lord, (Selah,)

³²ממלכות הארץ שירו לאלהים זמרו אדני סלה׃

³³Of him that rideth upon the heavens, the heavens which are of old: lo, he uttereth his voice, a mighty voice.

³³לרכב בשמי שמי קדם הן יתן בקולו קול עז׃

³⁴Ascribe ye strength unto God: his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds.

³⁴תנו עז לאלהים על ישראל גאותו ועזו בשחקים׃

³⁵Terrible art thou, O God, out of thy sanctuaries, -- the ùGod of Israel! He it is that giveth strength and might unto the people. Blessed be God!

³⁵נורא אלהים ממקדשיך אל ישראל הוא נתן עז ותעצמות לעם ברוך אלהים׃
