¹O ùGod of vengeances, Jehovah, ùGod of vengeances, shine forth;

¹אל נקמות יהוה אל נקמות הופיע׃

²Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth, render the reward to the proud.

²הנשא שפט הארץ השב גמול על גאים׃

³How long shall the wicked, O Jehovah, how long shall the wicked triumph?

³עד מתי רשעים יהוה עד מתי רשעים יעלזו׃

⁴[How long] shall they utter [and] speak insolence -- all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?

⁴יביעו ידברו עתק יתאמרו כל פעלי און׃

⁵They crush thy people, O Jehovah, and afflict thine inheritance;

⁵עמך יהוה ידכאו ונחלתך יענו׃

⁶They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless,

⁶אלמנה וגר יהרגו ויתומים ירצחו׃

⁷And say, Jah will not see, neither will the God of Jacob regard [it].

⁷ויאמרו לא יראה יה ולא יבין אלהי יעקב׃

⁸Understand, ye brutish among the people; and ye fools, when will ye be wise?

⁸בינו בערים בעם וכסילים מתי תשכילו׃

⁹He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? He that formed the eye, shall he not see?

⁹הנטע אזן הלא ישמע אם יצר עין הלא יביט׃

¹⁰He that instructeth the nations, shall not he correct -- he that teacheth man knowledge?

¹⁰היסר גוים הלא יוכיח המלמד אדם דעת׃

¹¹Jehovah knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

¹¹יהוה ידע מחשבות אדם כי המה הבל׃

¹²Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Jah, and whom thou teachest out of thy law;

¹²אשרי הגבר אשר תיסרנו יה ומתורתך תלמדנו׃

¹³That thou mayest give him rest from the days of evil, until the pit be digged for the wicked.

¹³להשקיט לו מימי רע עד יכרה לרשע שחת׃

¹⁴For Jehovah will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance;

¹⁴כי לא יטש יהוה עמו ונחלתו לא יעזב׃

¹⁵For judgment shall return unto righteousness, and all the upright in heart shall follow it.

¹⁵כי עד צדק ישוב משפט ואחריו כל ישרי לב׃

¹⁶Who will rise up for me against the evil-doers? who will stand for me against the workers of iniquity?

¹⁶מי יקום לי עם מרעים מי יתיצב לי עם פעלי און׃

¹⁷If Jehovah had not been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.

¹⁷לולי יהוה עזרתה לי כמעט שכנה דומה נפשי׃

¹⁸When I said, My foot slippeth, thy loving-kindness, O Jehovah, held me up.

¹⁸אם אמרתי מטה רגלי חסדך יהוה יסעדני׃

¹⁹In the multitude of my anxious thoughts within me thy comforts have delighted my soul.

¹⁹ברב שרעפי בקרבי תנחומיך ישעשעו נפשי׃

²⁰Shall the throne of wickedness be united to thee, which frameth mischief into a law?

²⁰היחברך כסא הוות יצר עמל עלי חק׃

²¹They band together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood.

²¹יגודו על נפש צדיק ודם נקי ירשיעו׃

²²But Jehovah will be my high tower; and my God the rock of my refuge.

²²ויהי יהוה לי למשגב ואלהי לצור מחסי׃

²³And he will bring upon them their iniquity, and will cut them off in their own evil: Jehovah our God will cut them off.

²³וישב עליהם את אונם וברעתם יצמיתם יצמיתם יהוה אלהינו׃
