1Bless Jehovah, O my soul! Jehovah my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with majesty and splendour;
1Pujilah TUHAN, hai jiwaku! Betapa agung Engkau, ya TUHAN Allahku! Engkau berpakaian kemegahan dan kemuliaan,
2Covering thyself with light as with a garment, stretching out the heavens like a tent-curtain; --
2dan berselubung cahaya. Engkau membentangkan langit seperti kemah,
3Who layeth the beams of his upper chambers in the waters, who maketh clouds his chariot, who walketh upon the wings of the wind;
3dan membangun Rumah-Mu di atas air di langit. Awan-awan Kaujadikan kereta-Mu, Engkau mengendarai sayap angin.
4Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flame of fire.
4Angin Kaujadikan utusan-Mu, dan kilat pelayan-Mu.
5He laid the earth upon its foundations: it shall not be removed for ever.
5Dengan kukuh bumi Kaupasang pada alasnya, sehingga tak akan goyang untuk selamanya.
6Thou hadst covered it with the deep, as with a vesture; the waters stood above the mountains:
6Engkau menyelubunginya dengan samudra raya, airnya menggenangi puncak-puncak pegunungan.
7At thy rebuke they fled, at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away; --
7Waktu Kauhardik, air itu mengalir, mengalir dengan deras karena gemuruh suara-Mu.
8The mountains rose, the valleys sank, unto the place which thou hadst founded for them; --
8Air mengalir melalui gunung-gunung ke dalam lembah, ke tempat yang Kausediakan baginya.
9Thou hast set a bound which they may not pass over, that they turn not again to cover the earth.
9Kautentukan batas-batas yang tak boleh ia lalui, supaya jangan kembali menggenangi bumi.
10He sendeth the springs into the valleys: they run among the mountains;
10Engkau membualkan mata air di lembah-lembah, anak sungai mengalir di antara bukit-bukit,
11They give drink to every beast of the field; the wild asses quench their thirst.
11untuk memberi minum semua binatang di ladang, dan melepaskan haus keledai-keledai hutan.
12The birds of heaven dwell by them; they give forth their voice from among the branches.
12Di dekatnya burung-burung membuat sarang; mereka berkicau di antara daun-daunan.
13He watereth the mountains from his upper-chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.
13Dari langit Kauturunkan hujan di pegunungan, bumi penuh dengan hasil karya-Mu.
14He maketh the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man; bringing forth bread out of the earth,
14Engkau menumbuhkan rumput untuk hewan, dan bagi manusia segala macam tanaman. Maka ia dapat bercocok tanam,
15And wine which gladdeneth the heart of man; making [his] face shine with oil; and with bread he strengtheneth man's heart.
15dan menghasilkan air anggur yang menyenangkan. Juga minyak zaitun yang membuat mukanya berseri, dan makanan yang memberi dia tenaga.
16The trees of Jehovah are satisfied, the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted,
16Pohon-pohon TUHAN mendapat hujan berlimpah pohon cemara Libanon yang ditanam-Nya sendiri.
17Where the birds make their nests; [as for] the stork, the fir trees are her house.
17Di situ bersaranglah burung-burung, burung ranggung bersarang di puncaknya.
18The high mountains are for the wild goats; the cliffs, a refuge for the rock-badgers.
18Gunung-gunung tinggi menjadi tempat kambing hutan; pelanduk bersembunyi di batu karang.
19He made the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth its going down.
19Engkau membuat bulan menjadi penanda waktu, matahari tahu saat terbenamnya.
20Thou makest darkness, and it is night, wherein all the beasts of the forest creep forth:
20Bila Engkau menurunkan gelap, hari menjadi malam, dan semua binatang hutan berkeliaran.
21The young lions roar after the prey, and to seek their food from ùGod.
21Singa-singa muda mengaum mencari mangsa, meminta makanan yang disediakan Allah.
22The sun ariseth, they retreat, and lay them down in their dens.
22Bila matahari terbit, mereka menyingkir dan berbaring di tempat persembunyiannya.
23Man goeth forth unto his work, and to his labour until the evening.
23Lalu keluarlah manusia untuk melakukan pekerjaannya, dan terus bekerja sampai hari senja.
24How manifold are thy works, O Jehovah! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.
24Betapa banyak karya-Mu, TUHAN, semuanya Kaujadikan dengan bijaksana; bumi penuh dengan ciptaan-Mu.
25Yonder is the great and wide sea: therein are moving things innumerable, living creatures small and great.
25Lihatlah laut yang luas terbentang, dengan makhluk besar kecil tak terbilang.
26There go the ships; [there] that leviathan, which thou hast formed to play therein.
26Di situ kapal-kapal berlayar, dan Lewiatan, naga laut ciptaan-Mu, bermain-main.
27These all look unto thee, that thou mayest give their food in its season:
27Mereka semua mengharapkan Engkau, untuk mendapat makanan pada waktunya.
28That thou givest unto them, they gather; thou openest thy hand, they are filled with good.
28Engkau memberi, dan mereka mengumpulkannya, Engkau menyediakannya, dan mereka makan sampai puas.
29Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled; thou takest away their breath, they expire and return to their dust.
29Bila Engkau berpaling, mereka takut; bila Kauambil napasnya, mereka binasa, dan kembali menjadi debu seperti semula.
30Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created, and thou renewest the face of the earth.
30Tetapi bila mereka Kauberi napas, mereka dijadikan; Engkau memberi hidup baru kepada bumi.
31The glory of Jehovah will endure for ever; Jehovah will rejoice in his works.
31Semoga keagungan TUHAN tetap selama-lamanya! Semoga Ia gembira dengan segala ciptaan-Nya!
32He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth; he toucheth the mountains, and they smoke.
32Ia memandang bumi dan membuatnya gemetar, gunung-gunung disentuh-Nya, sehingga asapnya keluar.
33I will sing unto Jehovah as long as I live; I will sing psalms to my God while I have my being.
33Aku mau menyanyi bagi TUHAN selama hidupku, menyanyikan pujian bagi Allahku selama aku ada.
34My meditation shall be pleasant unto him; I will rejoice in Jehovah.
34Semoga nyanyianku berkenan kepada-Nya, sebab Dialah yang membuat hatiku gembira.
35Sinners shall be consumed out of the earth, and the wicked shall be no more. Bless Jehovah, O my soul. Hallelujah!
35Biarlah orang berdosa lenyap dari muka bumi, biarlah orang jahat habis binasa. Pujilah TUHAN, hai jiwaku! Pujilah TUHAN!
