¹And the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of Jehovah's house, which looketh eastward; and behold, at the door of the gate were five and twenty men; and I saw in the midst of them Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.

¹時に霊はわたしをあげて、東に向かう主の宮の東の門に連れて行った。見よ、その門の入口に二十五人の者がいた。わたしはその中にアズルの子ヤザニヤと、ベナヤの子ペラテヤを見た。共に民のつかさであった。

²And he said unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise iniquity, and give wicked counsel in this city:

²すると彼はわたしに言われた、「人の子よ、これらの者はこの町の中で悪い事を考え、悪い計りごとをめぐらす人々である。

³who say, It is not the time to build houses: this is the cauldron, and we are the flesh.

³彼らは言う、『家を建てる時は近くはない。この町はなべであり、われわれは肉である』と。

⁴Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, son of man.

⁴それゆえ、彼らに向かって預言せよ。人の子よ、預言せよ」。

⁵And the Spirit of Jehovah fell on me, and said unto me, Speak, Thus saith Jehovah: Thus have ye said, O house of Israel; and the things that come into your mind, I know them.

⁵時に、主の霊がわたしに下って、わたしに言われた、「主はこう言われると言え、イスラエルの家よ、考えてみよ。わたしはあなたがたの心にある事どもを知っている。

⁶Ye have multiplied your slain in this city, and ye have filled the streets thereof with the slain.

⁶あなたがたはこの町に殺される者を増し、殺された者をもってちまたを満たした。

⁷Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Your slain whom ye have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and it is the cauldron; but you will I bring forth out of the midst of it.

⁷それゆえ、主なる神はこう言われる、町の中にあなたがたが置く殺された者は肉である。この町はなべである。しかし、あなたがたはその中から取り出される。

⁸Ye have feared the sword, and I will bring a sword upon you, saith the Lord Jehovah.

⁸あなたがたはつるぎを恐れた。わたしはあなたがたにつるぎを臨ませると、主は言われる。

⁹And I will bring you out of the midst of it, and give you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you.

⁹またわたしはあなたがたをその中から引き出して、他国人の手に渡し、あなたがたをさばく。

¹⁰Ye shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the borders of Israel; and ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah.

¹⁰あなたがたはつるぎに倒れる。わたしはあなたがたをイスラエルの境でさばく。これによってあなたがたはわたしが主であることを知るようになる。

¹¹This shall not be your cauldron, neither shall ye be the flesh in the midst of it: I will judge you in the borders of Israel;

¹¹この町はあなたがたに対してなべとはならず、あなたがたはその肉とはならない。わたしはイスラエルの境であなたがたをさばく。

¹²and ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah, in whose statutes ye have not walked, neither have done mine ordinances, but have done after the ordinances of the nations that are round about you.

¹²これによって、あなたがたはわたしが主であることを知るようになる。あなたがたはわたしの定めに歩まず、またわたしのおきてを行わず、かえってその周囲の他国人のおきてに従って行っているからである」。

¹³And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. And I fell down on my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah, Lord Jehovah! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel?

¹³このようにわたしが預言していた時、ベナヤの子ペラテヤが死んだので、わたしは打ち伏して、大声で叫んで言った、「ああ主なる神よ、あなたはイスラエルの残りの者をことごとく滅ぼそうとされるのですか」。

¹⁴And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

¹⁴時に主の言葉がわたしに臨んで言った、

¹⁵Son of man, [it is] thy brethren, thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel, the whole of it, unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem say, Get you far from Jehovah: unto us is this land given for a possession.

¹⁵「人の子よ、あなたの兄弟、あなたの友、あなたの兄弟である捕われ人、イスラエルの全家、エルサレムの住民は言った、『彼らが主から遠く離れた。この地はわれわれの所有として与えられているのだ』と。

¹⁶Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Although I have removed them far off among the nations, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries whither they are come.

¹⁶それゆえ、言え、『主なる神はこう言われる、たといわたしは彼らを遠く他国人の中に移し、国々の中に散らしても、彼らの行った国々で、わたしはしばらく彼らのために聖所となる』と。

¹⁷Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will even gather you from the peoples, and assemble you out of the countries where ye are scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.

¹⁷それゆえ、言え、『主はこう言われる、わたしはあなたがたをもろもろの民の中から集め、その散らされた国々から集めて、イスラエルの地をあなたがたに与える』と。

¹⁸And they shall come thither, and they shall take away from thence all its detestable things and all its abominations.

¹⁸彼らはその所に来る時、そのもろもろのいとうべきものと、もろもろの憎むべきものとをその所から取り除く。

¹⁹And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh;

¹⁹そしてわたしは彼らに一つの心を与え、彼らのうちに新しい霊を授け、彼らの肉から石の心を取り去って、肉の心を与える。

²⁰that they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

²⁰これは彼らがわたしの定めに歩み、わたしのおきてを守って行い、そして彼らがわたしの民となり、わたしが彼らの神となるためである。

²¹But as for them whose heart walketh well-pleased with their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their heads, saith the Lord Jehovah.

²¹しかしいとうべきもの、憎むべきものをその心に慕って歩む者には、彼らの行いに従ってそのこうべに報いると、主なる神は言われる」。

²²And the cherubim lifted up their wings, and the wheels were beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.

²²時にケルビムはその翼をあげた。輪がそのかたわらにあり、イスラエルの神の栄光がその上にあった。

²³And the glory of Jehovah went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city.

²³主の栄光が町の中からのぼって、町の東にある山の上に立ちどまった。

²⁴And the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity; and the vision that I had seen went up from me.

²⁴その時、霊はわたしをあげ、神の霊によって、幻のうちにわたしをカルデヤの捕われ人の所へ携えて行った。そしてわたしが見た幻はわたしを離れてのぼった。そこでわたしは主がわたしに示された事をことごとくかの捕われ人に告げた。

²⁵And I spoke unto them of the captivity all the things that Jehovah had shewn me.
