¹And Bildad the Shuhite answered and said,

¹そこでシュヒびとビルダデは答えて言った、

²Dominion and fear are with him; he maketh peace in his high places.

²「大権と恐れとは神と共にある。彼は高き所で平和を施される。

³Is there any number of his troops? and upon whom doth not his light arise?

³その軍勢は数えることができるか。何物かその光に浴さないものがあるか。

⁴And how should man be just with ùGod? Or how should he be clean that is born of a woman?

⁴それで人はどうして神の前に正しくありえようか。女から生れた者がどうして清くありえようか。

⁵Lo, even the moon is not bright; and the stars are not pure in his sight:

⁵見よ、月さえも輝かず、星も彼の目には清くない。うじのような人、虫のような人の子はなおさらである」。

⁶How much less man, a worm, and the son of man, a worm!
