¹{To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.} Free me, O Jehovah, from the evil man; preserve me from the violent man:

¹主よ、悪しき人々からわたしを助け出し、わたしを守って、乱暴な人々からのがれさせてください。

²Who devise mischiefs in [their] heart; every day are they banded together for war.

²彼らは心のうちに悪い事をはかり、絶えず戦いを起します。

³They sharpen their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.

³彼らはへびのようにおのが舌を鋭くし、そのくちびるの下にはまむしの毒があります。〔セラ

⁴Keep me, O Jehovah, from the hands of the wicked [man], preserve me from the violent man, who devise to overthrow my steps.

⁴主よ、わたしを保って、悪しき人の手からのがれさせ、わたしを守って、わが足をつまずかせようとする乱暴な人々からのがれさせてください。

⁵The proud have hidden a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the way-side; they have set traps for me. Selah.

⁵高ぶる者はわたしのためにわなを伏せ、綱をもって網を張り、道のほとりにわなを設けました。〔セラ

⁶I have said unto Jehovah, Thou art my ùGod: give ear, O Jehovah, to the voice of my supplications.

⁶わたしは主に言います、「あなたはわが神です。主よ、わが願いの声に耳を傾けてください。

⁷Jehovah, the Lord, is the strength of my salvation: thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

⁷わが救の力、主なる神よ、あなたは戦いの日に、わがこうべをおおわれました。

⁸Grant not, O Jehovah, the desire of the wicked; further not his device: they would exalt themselves. Selah.

⁸主よ、悪しき人の願いをゆるさないでください。その悪しき計画をとげさせないでください。〔セラ

⁹[As for] the head of those that encompass me, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

⁹わたしを囲む者がそのこうべをあげるとき、そのくちびるの害悪で彼らをおおってください。

¹⁰Let burning coals fall on them; let them be cast into the fire; into deep waters, that they rise not up again.

¹⁰燃える炭を彼らの上に落してください。彼らを穴に投げ入れ、再び上がることのできないようにしてください。

¹¹Let not the man of [evil] tongue be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the man of violence to [his] ruin.

¹¹悪口を言う者を世に立たせないでください。乱暴な人をすみやかに災に追い捕えさせてください」。

¹²I know that Jehovah will maintain the cause of the afflicted one, the right of the needy.

¹²わたしは主が苦しむ者の訴えをたすけ、貧しい者のために正しいさばきを行われることを知っています。正しい人は必ずみ名に感謝し、直き人はみ前に住むでしょう。

¹³Yea, the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name; the upright shall dwell in thy presence.
