¹{[A Psalm] of David; when he changed his behaviour before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed.} I will bless Jehovah at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

¹わたしは常に主をほめまつる。そのさんびはわたしの口に絶えない。

²My soul shall make its boast in Jehovah: the meek shall hear, and rejoice.

²わが魂は主によって誇る。苦しむ者はこれを聞いて喜ぶであろう。

³Magnify Jehovah with me, and let us exalt his name together.

³わたしと共に主をあがめよ、われらは共にみ名をほめたたえよう。

⁴I sought Jehovah, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.

⁴わたしが主に求めたとき、主はわたしに答え、すべての恐れからわたしを助け出された。

⁵They looked unto him, and were enlightened, and their faces were not confounded.

⁵主を仰ぎ見て、光を得よ、そうすれば、あなたがたは、恥じて顔を赤くすることはない。

⁶This afflicted one called, and Jehovah heard [him], and saved him out of all his troubles.

⁶この苦しむ者が呼ばわったとき、主は聞いて、すべての悩みから救い出された。

⁷The angel of Jehovah encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

⁷主の使は主を恐れる者のまわりに陣をしいて彼らを助けられる。

⁸Taste and see that Jehovah is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him!

⁸主の恵みふかきことを味わい知れ、主に寄り頼む人はさいわいである。

⁹Fear Jehovah, ye his saints; for there is no want to them that fear him.

⁹主の聖徒よ、主を恐れよ、主を恐れる者には乏しいことがないからである。

¹⁰The young lions are in need and suffer hunger; but they that seek Jehovah shall not want any good.

¹⁰若きししは乏しくなって飢えることがある。しかし主を求める者は良き物に欠けることはない。

¹¹Come, ye sons, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of Jehovah.

¹¹子らよ、来てわたしに聞け、わたしは主を恐るべきことをあなたがたに教えよう。

¹²What man is he that desireth life, [and] loveth days, that he may see good?

¹²さいわいを見ようとして、いのちを慕い、ながらえることを好む人はだれか。

¹³Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile;

¹³あなたの舌をおさえて悪を言わせず、あなたのくちびるをおさえて偽りを言わすな。

¹⁴Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

¹⁴悪を離れて善をおこない、やわらぎを求めて、これを努めよ。

¹⁵The eyes of Jehovah are upon the righteous, and his ears are toward their cry;

¹⁵主の目は正しい人をかえりみ、その耳は彼らの叫びに傾く。

¹⁶The face of Jehovah is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth:

¹⁶主のみ顔は悪を行う者にむかい、その記憶を地から断ち滅ぼされる。

¹⁷[The righteous] cry, and Jehovah heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

¹⁷正しい者が助けを叫び求めるとき、主は聞いて、彼らをそのすべての悩みから助け出される。

¹⁸Jehovah is nigh to those that are of a broken heart, and saveth them that are of a contrite spirit.

¹⁸主は心の砕けた者に近く、たましいの悔いくずおれた者を救われる。

¹⁹Many are the adversities of the righteous, but Jehovah delivereth him out of them all:

¹⁹正しい者には災が多い。しかし、主はすべてその中から彼を助け出される。

²⁰He keepeth all his bones; not one of them is broken.

²⁰主は彼の骨をことごとく守られる。その一つだに折られることはない。

²¹Evil shall destroy the wicked; and they that hate the righteous shall bear their guilt.

²¹悪は悪しき者を殺す。正しい者を憎む者は罪に定められる。主はそのしもべらの命をあがなわれる。主に寄り頼む者はひとりだに罪に定められることはない。

²²Jehovah redeemeth the soul of his servants; and none of them that trust in him shall bear guilt.
