¹神よ、どうかわたしをあわれんでください。人々がわたしを踏みつけ、あだする人々がひねもすわたしをしえたげます。

²Mine enemies would swallow [me] up all the day long; for they are many that fight against me haughtily.

²わたしの敵はひねもすわたしを踏みつけ、誇りたかぶって、わたしと戦う者が多いのです。

³In the day that I am afraid, I will confide in thee.

³わたしが恐れるときは、あなたに寄り頼みます。

⁴In God will I praise his word, in God I put my confidence: I will not fear; what can flesh do unto me?

⁴わたしは神によって、そのみ言葉をほめたたえます。わたしは神に信頼するゆえ、恐れることはありません。肉なる者はわたしに何をなし得ましょうか。

⁵All the day long they wrest my words; all their thoughts are against me for evil.

⁵彼らはひねもすわたしの事を妨害し、その思いはことごとくわたしにわざわいします。

⁶They gather themselves together, they hide themselves; they mark my steps, because they wait for my soul.

⁶彼らは共に集まって身をひそめ、わたしの歩みに目をとめ、わたしのいのちをうかがい求めます。

⁷Shall they escape by iniquity? In anger cast down the peoples, O God.

⁷神よ、彼らにその罪を報い、憤りをもってもろもろの民を倒してください。

⁸*Thou* countest my wanderings; put my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?

⁸あなたはわたしのさすらいを数えられました。わたしの涙をあなたの皮袋にたくわえてください。これは皆あなたの書にしるされているではありませんか。

⁹Then shall mine enemies return backward in the day when I call: this I know, for God is for me.

⁹わたしが呼び求める日に、わたしの敵は退きます。これによって神がわたしを守られることを知ります。

¹⁰In God will I praise [his] word; in Jehovah will I praise [his] word.

¹⁰わたしは神によってそのみ言葉をほめたたえ、主によってそのみ言葉をほめたたえます。

¹¹In God have I put my confidence: I will not fear; what can man do unto me?

¹¹わたしは神に信頼するゆえ、恐れることはありません。人はわたしに何をなし得ましょうか。

¹²Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render thanks unto thee.

¹²神よ、わたしがあなたに立てた誓いは果さなければなりません。わたしは感謝の供え物をあなたにささげます。あなたはわたしの魂を死から救い、わたしの足を守って倒れることなく、いのちの光のうちで神の前にわたしを歩ませられたからです。

¹³For thou hast delivered my soul from death; [wilt thou] not [keep] my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?
