¹わが神よ、どうかわたしをわが敵から助け出し、わたしに逆らって起りたつ者からお守りください。

²Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from men of blood.

²悪を行う者からわたしを助け出し、血を流す人からわたしをお救いください。

³For behold, they lie in wait for my soul; strong ones are gathered against me: not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Jehovah.

³見よ、彼らはひそみかくれて、わたしの命をうかがい、力ある人々が共に集まってわたしを攻めます。主よ、わたしにとがも罪もなく、

⁴They run and prepare themselves without [my] fault: awake to meet me, and behold.

⁴わたしにあやまちもないのに、彼らは走りまわって備えをします。わたしを助けるために目をさまして、ごらんください。

⁵Yea, do thou, Jehovah, the God of hosts, the God of Israel, arise to visit all the nations: be not gracious to any plotters of iniquity. Selah.

⁵万軍の神、主よ、あなたはイスラエルの神です。目をさまして、もろもろの国民を罰し、悪をたくらむ者どもに、あわれみを施さないでください。〔セラ

⁶They return in the evening; they howl like a dog, and go round about the city:

⁶彼らは夕ごとに帰ってきて、犬のようにほえて町をあさりまわる。

⁷Behold, they belch out with their mouth; swords are in their lips: for who [say they] doth hear?

⁷見よ、彼らはその口をもってほえ叫び、そのくちびるをもってうなり、「だれが聞くものか」と言う。

⁸But thou, Jehovah, wilt laugh at them; thou wilt have all the nations in derision.

⁸しかし、主よ、あなたは彼らを笑い、もろもろの国民をあざけり笑われる。

⁹Their strength! ... I will take heed to thee; for God is my high fortress.

⁹わが力よ、わたしはあなたにむかってほめ歌います。神よ、あなたはわたしの高きやぐらです。

¹⁰God, whose loving-kindness will come to meet me, -- God shall let me see [my desire] upon mine enemies.

¹⁰わが神はそのいつくしみをもってわたしを迎えられる。わが神はわたしに敵の敗北を見させられる。

¹¹Slay them not, lest my people forget; by thy power make them wander, and bring them down, O Lord, our shield.

¹¹どうぞ、わが民の忘れることのないために、彼らを殺さないでください。主、われらの盾よ、み力をもって彼らをよろめかせ、彼らを倒れさせないでください。

¹²[Because of] the sin of their mouth, the word of their lips, let them even be taken in their pride; and because of cursing and lying which they speak.

¹³Make an end in wrath, make an end, that they may be no more; that they may know that God ruleth in Jacob, unto the ends of the earth. Selah.

¹³憤りをもって彼らを滅ぼし、もはやながらえることのないまでに、彼らを滅ぼしてください。そうすれば地のはてまで、人々は神がヤコブを治められることを知るに至るでしょう。〔セラ

¹⁴And in the evening they shall return, they shall howl like a dog, and go round about the city.

¹⁴彼らは夕ごとに帰ってきて、犬のようにほえて町をあさりまわる。

¹⁵They shall wander about for meat, and stay all night if they be not satisfied.

¹⁵彼らは食い物のためにあるきまわり、飽くことを得なければ怒りうなる。

¹⁶But as for me, I will sing of thy strength; yea, I will sing aloud of thy loving-kindness in the morning; for thou hast been to me a high fortress, and a refuge in the day of my trouble.

¹⁶しかし、わたしはあなたのみ力をうたい、朝には声をあげてみいつくしみを歌います。あなたはわたしの悩みの日にわが高きやぐらとなり、わたしの避け所となられたからです。わが力よ、わたしはあなたにむかってほめうたいます。神よ、あなたはわが高きやぐら、わたしにいつくしみを賜わる神であられるからです。

¹⁷Unto thee, my strength, will I sing psalms; for God is my high fortress, the God of my mercy.
