¹わが神、主よ、わたしはあなたに寄り頼みます。どうかすべての追い迫る者からわたしを救い、わたしをお助けください。

²Lest he tear my soul like a lion, crushing it while there is no deliverer.

²さもないと彼らは、ししのように、わたしをかき裂き、助ける者の来ないうちに、引いて行くでしょう。

³Jehovah my God, if I have done this, if there be iniquity in my hands;

³わが神、主よ、もしわたしがこの事を行ったならば、もしわたしの手によこしまな事があるならば、

⁴If I have rewarded evil to him that was at peace with me; (indeed I have freed him that without cause oppressed me;)

⁴もしわたしの友に悪をもって報いたことがあり、ゆえなく、敵のものを略奪したことがあるならば、

⁵Let the enemy pursue after my soul, and take [it], and let him tread down my life to the earth, and lay my glory in the dust. Selah.

⁵敵にわたしを追い捕えさせ、わたしの命を地に踏みにじらせ、わたしの魂をちりにゆだねさせてください。〔セラ

⁶Arise, Jehovah, in thine anger; lift thyself up against the raging of mine oppressors, and awake for me: thou hast commanded judgment.

⁶主よ、怒りをもって立ち、わたしの敵の憤りにむかって立ちあがり、わたしのために目をさましてください。あなたはさばきを命じられました。

⁷And the assembly of the peoples shall encompass thee; and for their sakes return thou on high.

⁷もろもろの民をあなたのまわりにつどわせ、その上なる高みくらにおすわりください。

⁸Jehovah shall minister judgment to the peoples. Judge me, Jehovah, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity which is in me.

⁸主はもろもろの民をさばかれます。主よ、わたしの義と、わたしにある誠実とに従って、わたしをさばいてください。

⁹Oh let the wrong of the wicked come to an end, and establish thou the righteous [man]; even thou that triest the hearts and reins, the righteous God.

⁹どうか悪しき者の悪を断ち、正しき者を堅く立たせてください。義なる神よ、あなたは人の心と思いとを調べられます。

¹⁰My shield is with God, who saveth the upright in heart.

¹⁰わたしを守る盾は神である。神は心の直き者を救われる。

¹¹God is a righteous judge, and a ùGod who is indignant all the day.

¹¹神は義なるさばきびと、日ごとに憤りを起される神である。

¹²If one turn not, he will sharpen his sword; he hath bent his bow and made it ready,

¹²もし人が悔い改めないならば、神はそのつるぎをとぎ、その弓を張って構え、

¹³And he hath prepared for him instruments of death; his arrows hath he made burning.

¹³また死に至らせる武器を備え、その矢を火矢とされる。

¹⁴Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, yea, he hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood:

¹⁴見よ、悪しき者は邪悪をはらみ、害毒をやどし、偽りを生む。

¹⁵He digged a pit, and hollowed it out, and is fallen into the hole that he made.

¹⁵彼は穴を掘って、それを深くし、みずから作った穴に陥る。

¹⁶His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violence shall come down upon his own pate.

¹⁶その害毒は自分のかしらに帰り、その強暴は自分のこうべに下る。わたしは主にむかって、その義にふさわしい感謝をささげ、いと高き者なる主の名をほめ歌うであろう。

¹⁷I will praise Jehovah according to his righteousness, and will sing forth the name of Jehovah the Most High.
