¹{To the chief Musician. On Shoshannim-Eduth. Of Asaph. A Psalm.} Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that sittest [between] the cherubim, shine forth.

¹イスラエルの牧者よ、羊の群れのようにヨセフを導かれる者よ、耳を傾けてください。ケルビムの上に座せられる者よ、光を放ってください。

²Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up thy strength, and come to our deliverance.

²エフライム、ベニヤミン、マナセの前にあなたの力を振り起し、来て、われらをお救いください。

³O God, restore us; and cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.

³神よ、われらをもとに返し、み顔の光を照してください。そうすればわれらは救をえるでしょう。

⁴Jehovah, God of hosts, how long will thine anger smoke against the prayer of thy people?

⁴万軍の神、主よ、いつまで、その民の祈にむかってお怒りになるのですか。

⁵Thou hast fed them with the bread of tears, and given them tears to drink in large measure:

⁵あなたは涙のパンを彼らに食わせ、多くの涙を彼らに飲ませられました。

⁶Thou hast made us a strife unto our neighbours, and our enemies mock among themselves.

⁶あなたはわれらを隣り人のあざけりとし、われらの敵はたがいにあざわらいました。

⁷Restore us, O God of hosts; and cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.

⁷万軍の神よ、われらをもとに返し、われらの救われるため、み顔の光を照してください。

⁸Thou broughtest a vine out of Egypt; thou didst cast out the nations, and plant it:

⁸あなたは、ぶどうの木をエジプトから携え出し、もろもろの国民を追い出して、これを植えられました。

⁹Thou preparedst space before it, and it took deep root, and filled the land;

⁹あなたはこれがために地を開かれたので、深く根ざして、国にはびこりました。

¹⁰The mountains were covered with its shadow, and the branches thereof were [like] cedars of ùGod;

¹⁰山々はその影でおおわれ、神の香柏はその枝でおおわれました。

¹¹It sent out its boughs unto the sea, and its shoots unto the river.

¹¹これはその枝を海にまでのべ、その若枝を大川にまでのべました。

¹²Why hast thou broken down its fences, so that all who pass by the way do pluck it?

¹²あなたは何ゆえ、そのかきをくずして道ゆくすべての人にその実を摘み取らせられるのですか。

¹³The boar out of the forest doth waste it, and the beast of the field doth feed off it.

¹³林のいのししはこれを荒し、野のすべての獣はこれを食べます。

¹⁴O God of hosts, return, we beseech thee; look down from the heavens, and behold, and visit this vine;

¹⁴万軍の神よ、再び天から見おろして、このぶどうの木をかえりみてください。

¹⁵Even the stock which thy right hand hath planted, and the young plant thou madest strong for thyself.

¹⁵あなたの右の手の植えられた幹と、みずからのために強くされた枝とをかえりみてください。

¹⁶It is burned with fire, it is cut down; they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.

¹⁶彼らは火をもってこれを焼き、これを切り倒しました。彼らをみ顔のとがめによって滅ぼしてください。

¹⁷Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou hast made strong for thyself.

¹⁷しかしあなたの手をその右の手の人の上におき、みずからのために強くされた人の子の上においてください。

¹⁸So will we not go back from thee. Revive us, and we will call upon thy name.

¹⁸そうすれば、われらはあなたを離れ退くことはありません。われらを生かしてください。われらはあなたのみ名を呼びます。万軍の神、主よ、われらをもとに返し、み顔の光を照してください。そうすればわれらは救をえるでしょう。

¹⁹Restore us, O Jehovah, God of hosts; cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.
