1When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider well who is before thee;
1မင်းနှင့်အတူထိုင်၍ စားသောက်သောအခါ သင့်ရှေ့မှာ အဘယ်သူရှိသည်ကို စေ့စေ့ဆင်ခြင်လော့။
2and put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite.
2သင်သည် စားကြူးတတ်သောသူဖြစ်လျှင်၊ သင်၏လည်ချောင်းကို ထားနှင့်ရွယ်လော့။
3Be not desirous of his dainties; for they are deceitful food.
3ထိုမင်း၏ခဲဘွယ်စားဘွယ်တို့ကို အလိုမရှိနှင့်။ လှည့်စားတတ်သောအစာဖြစ်၏။
4Weary not thyself to become rich; cease from thine own intelligence:
4ငွေရတတ် ခြင်းငှါ မကြိုးစားနှင့်။ ကိုယ်ဥာဏ်ကို အမှီမပြုနှင့်။
5wilt thou set thine eyes upon it, it is gone; for indeed it maketh itself wings and it flieth away as an eagle towards the heavens.
5ပျောက်တတ်သောအရာကို စေ့စေ့မျက်မှောက် ပြုသင့်သလော။ အကယ်စင်စစ် ရွှေလင်းတသည် မိုဃ်းကောင်းကင်သို့ ပျံတတ်သကဲ့သို့၊ ထိုအရာသည် အတောင်တို့ကို လုပ်၍ပျံသွားတတ်၏။
6Eat thou not the food of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainties.
6မနာလိုသောသူ၏ အစာကိုမစားနှင့်။ သူ၏ ခဲဘွယ်စားဘွယ်ကို အလိုမရှိနှင့်။
7For as he thinketh in his soul, so is he. Eat and drink! will he say unto thee; but his heart is not with thee.
7သူသည် စိတ်ထင်သည်အတိုင်းဖြစ်၏။ စား သောက်တော့ဟု ဆိုသော်လည်း စေတနာစိတ်မရှိ။
8Thy morsel which thou hast eaten must thou vomit up, and thou wilt have wasted thy sweet words.
8သင်သည် စားသောအစာကို တဖန်အန်ရ လိမ့်မည်။ သင်ချိုသော စကားလည်းယိုယွင်းလိမ့်မည်။
9Speak not in the ears of a foolish [man], for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.
9မိုက်သောသူကြားအောင် စကားမပြောနှင့်။ သင်၏စကား၌ ပါသောပညာကို မထီမဲ့မြင်ပြုလိမ့်မည်။
10Remove not the ancient landmark; and enter not into the fields of the fatherless:
10အရိပ်စိုက်သော မြေမှတ်တိုင်ကိုမရွှေ့နှင့်။ မိဘမရှိသော သူတို့၏ လယ်ကိုမသိမ်းနှင့်။
11for their redeemer is mighty; he will plead their cause against thee.
11အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ထိုသူတို့ကို ရွေးတော်မူသော သူသည် တန်ခိုးကြီး၍၊ သင့်တဘက်၌ သူတို့အမှုကို စောင့်တော်မူလိမ့်မည်။
12Apply thy heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge.
12ဆုံးမဩဝါဒ၌ စိတ်နှလုံးစွဲလမ်း၍၊ ပညာ အတတ် စကားကို နာခံလော့။
13Withhold not correction from the child; for [if] thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die:
13သူငယ်ကို မဆုံးမဘဲမနေနှင့်။ ကြိမ်လုံးနှင့်ရိုက် သော်လည်း သူသည် မသေ။
14thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from Sheol.
14ကြိမ်လုံးနှင့်ရိုက်၍ သူ၏အသက်ဝိညာဉ်ကို မရဏနိုင်ငံမှ ကယ်နှုတ်ရမည်။
15My son, if thy heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine;
15ငါ့သား၊ သင့်နှလုံး၌ပညာရှိလျှင် ငါ့နှလုံးနှင့် ငါ့ကိုယ်တိုင်သည် ဝမ်းမြောက်လိမ့်မည်။
16and my reins shall exult, when thy lips speak right things.
16သင့်နှုတ်သည် မှန်သောစကားကို ပြောသော အခါ၊ ငါ့ကျောက်ကပ်ရွှင်လန်းလိမ့်မည်။
17Let not thy heart envy sinners, but [be thou] in the fear of Jehovah all the day;
17အပြစ်ထင်ရှားသော သူတို့ကို ငြူစူသော စိတ်မရှိစေနှင့်။ တနေ့လုံးထာဝရဘုရားကို ကြောက်ရွံ့ သောသဘော ရှိစေလော့။
18for surely there is a result, and thine expectation shall not be cut off.
18အကယ်စင်စစ် အမှုဆုံးဖြတ်ချိန်သည် ရောက် လိမ့်မည်။ သင့်မြော်လင့်ခြင်းအကြောင်း မပျက်ရာ။
19Thou, my son, hear and be wise, and direct thy heart in the way.
19ငါ့သား၊ ငါ့စကားကို နားထောင်၍ ပညာရှိသ ဖြင့်၊ ကိုယ်စိတ်နှလုံးကို လမ်းမ၌ပဲ့ပြင်လော့။
20Be not among winebibbers, among riotous eaters of flesh.
20စပျစ်ရည်သောက်ကြူးသောသူ၊ အမဲသားစား ကြူးသော သူတို့ကို အပေါင်းအဘော်မလုပ်နှင့်။
21For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty; and drowsiness clotheth with rags.
21သောက်ကြူးသောသူနှင့် စားကြူးသောသူသည် ဆင်းရဲခြင်းသို့ ရောက်လိမ့်မည်။ အိပ်ကြူးသော သဘော သည် လူကိုအဝတ်စုတ်နှင့် ခြုံတတ်၏။
22Hearken unto thy father that begat thee, and despise not thy mother when she is old.
22သင့်ကိုဖြစ်ဘွားစေသောအဘ၏ စကားကို နားထောင်လော့။ အသက်ကြီးသော အမိကို မထီမဲ့မြင် မပြုနှင့်။
23Buy the truth, and sell it not; wisdom, and instruction, and intelligence.
23သမ္မာတရားကို ဝယ်လော့။ မရောင်းနှင့်။ ပညာ ကို၎င်း၊ ဆုံးမဩဝါဒကို၎င်း၊ ဥာဏ်သတ္တိကို၎င်း ထိုအတူ ပြုလော့။
24The father of a righteous [man] shall greatly rejoice, and he that begetteth a wise [son] shall have joy of him:
24ဖြောင့်မတ်သောသူ၏အဘသည် အလွန်ဝမ်း မြောက်လိမ့်မည်။ ပညာရှိသော သားကို ဖြစ်ဘွားစေသော သူသည် ထိုသား၌ အားရဝမ်းမြောက်လိမ့်မည်။
25let thy father and thy mother have joy, and let her that bore thee rejoice.
25သင်၏မိဘတို့သည်ဝမ်းမြောက်၍၊ သင့်ကို မွေးဘွားသောသူသည် ရွှင်လန်းလိမ့်မည်။
26My son, give me thy heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.
26ငါ့သား၊ သင့်နှလုံးကို ငါ့အားပေးလော့။ သင့် မျက်စိတို့သည် ငါသွားသောလမ်းကို ကြည့်မှတ်ပါစေ။
27For a whore is a deep ditch; and a strange woman is a narrow pit.
27ပြည်တန်ဆာမသည် နက်သောကျုံးကဲ့သို့၎င်း၊ အမျိုးပျက်သော မိန်းမသည် ကျဉ်းသော မြေတွင်းကဲ့သို့ ၎င်း ဖြစ်၏။
28She also lieth in wait as a robber, and increaseth the treacherous among men.
28သူသည် ထားပြကဲ့သို့ ချောင်းကြည့်တတ်၏။ လွန်ကျူးသော ယောက်ျားများပြားစေခြင်းငှါ ပြုတတ်၏။
29Who hath woe? Who hath sorrow? Who contentions? Who complaining? Who wounds without cause? Who redness of eyes?
29အဘယ်သူသည် ဝမ်းနည်းခြင်းရှိသနည်း။ အဘယ်သူသည် ညည်းတွားခြင်းရှိသနည်း။ အဘယ် သူသည် ရန်တွေ့ခြင်းရှိသနည်း။ အဘယ်သည် မြည် တမ်းခြင်းရှိသနည်း။ အဘယ်သူသည် အကျိုးအကြောင်း မရှိ၊ ထိခိုက်၍ နာခြင်းရှိသနည်း။ အဘယ်သူသည် မျက်စိနီခြင်းရှိသနည်း ဟူမူကား၊
30-- They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to try mixed wine.
30စပျစ်ရည်ကို ကြာမြင့်စွာ သောက်လျက်နေ သောသူ၊ ဆေးနှင့်ရောသော စပျစ်ရည်ကို ရှာတတ်သော သူတို့သည် ထိုသို့သော လက္ခဏာရှိကြ၏။
31Look not upon the wine when it is red, when it sparkleth in the cup, and goeth down smoothly:
31ဖလား၌နီလျက်၊ အရောင်တောက်လျက်၊ အချိုအမြိန်ဝင်လျက်ရှိသော စပျစ်ရည်ကို မကြည့်မရှုနှင့်။
32at the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.
32နောက်ဆုံး၌ မြွေကဲ့သို့ကိုက်တတ်၏။ မြွေဆိုး ကဲ့သို့ နာစေတတ်၏။
33Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thy heart shall speak froward things;
33သင့်မျက်စိတို့သည် အမျိုးပျက်သောမိန်းမတို့ကို ကြည့်ရှု၍၊ သင့်နှလုံးသည်လည်း ကောက်သော စကားကို မြွက်ဆိုလိမ့်မည်။
34and thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, and as he that lieth down upon the top of a mast:
34အကယ်စင်စစ် သင်သည် ပင်လယ်အလယ်၌ အိပ်သောသူ၊ သင်္ဘောရွက်တိုင်ဖျားပေါ်မှာ အိပ်သော သူကဲ့သို့ ဖြစ်လိမ့်မည်။
35-- ''They have smitten me, [and] I am not sore; they have beaten me, [and] I knew it not. When shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.''
35သူတို့သည် ငါ့ကိုရိုက်ကြပြီ။ သို့သော်လည်း ငါမနာ။ ငါ့ကိုထိုးကြသော်လည်း ငါမသိ။ အဘယ်အချိန် မှ ငါနိုးရမည်နည်း။ တဖန်ငါရှာ ဦးမည်ဟု သင်ဆိုလိမ့် သတည်း။
