¹A [good] name is rather to be chosen than great riches; loving favour rather than silver and gold.

¹ကောင်းသောအသရေကို များစွာသော ဥစ္စာ ထက်သာ၍ ရွေးစရာကောင်း၏။ သူတပါးစုံမက်ခြင်း ကျေးဇူးသည် ရွှေငွေထက်သာ၍ ကောင်း၏။

²The rich and poor meet together; Jehovah is the maker of them all.

²ငွေရတတ်သောသူနှင့် ဆင်းရဲသောသူတို့သည် တွေ့ကြံကြ၏။ ထိုသူအပေါင်းတို့ကို ထာဝရဘုရား ဖန်ဆင်းတော်မူ၏။

³A prudent [man] seeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.

³သမ္မာသတိရှိသောသူသည် အမှုကိုမြော်မြင်၍ ပုန်းနေတတ်၏။ ဥာဏ်တိမ်သောသူမူကား၊ အစဉ် အတိုင်းသွား၍ အမှုနှင့်တွေ့တတ်၏။

⁴The reward of humility [and] the fear of Jehovah is riches, and honour, and life.

⁴စိတ်နှိမ့်ချခြင်း၊ ထာဝရဘုရားကို ကြောက်ရွံ့ ခြင်းကျေးဇူးကြောင့် စည်းစိမ်၊ ဂုဏ်အသရေ၊ အသက်ကို ရတတ်၏။

⁵Thorns [and] snares are in the way of the perverse: he that keepeth his soul holdeth himself far from them.

⁵သဘောကောက်သောလူ သွားရာလမ်း၌၊ ဆူး ပင်များနှင့် ကျော့ကွင်းများရှိတတ်၏။ မိမိစိတ်ဝိညာဉ်ကို စောင့်ရှောက်သောသူမူကား ဝေးစွာ ရှောင်သွားလိမ့်မည်။

⁶Train up the child according to the tenor of his way, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

⁶သူငယ်သွားရာလမ်းဝ၌ ဆုံးမသွန်သင်လော့။ သို့ပြုလျှင် သူသည်အိုသောအခါ ထိုလမ်းမှမလွှဲ၊ လိုက် သွားလိမ့်မည်။

⁷The rich ruleth over the poor; and the borrower is servant to the lender.

⁷ငွေရတတ်သော သူသည်ဆင်းရဲသောသူကို အစိုးရ၏။ ချေးငှါးယူသော သူသည်ချေးငှါးပေးသောသူ၌ ကျွန်ဖြစ်၏။

⁸He that soweth unrighteousness shall reap iniquity, and the rod of his wrath shall have an end.

⁸ဒုစရိုက်မျိုးစေ့ကို ကြဲသောသူသည် ဒုက္ခစပါးကို ရိတ်ရမည်။ ဒေါသစိတ်ရှိ၍ ဒဏ်ပေးနိုင်သော တန်ခိုး လည်း ပျောက်လိမ့်မည်။

⁹He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed, for he giveth of his bread to the poor.

⁹ကရုဏာမျက်စိရှိသောသူသည် ဆင်းရဲသော သူတို့ကိုကျွေးသောကြောင့် မင်္ဂလာရှိလိမ့်မည်။ ရန်တွေ့ ခြင်းနှင့်ကဲ့ရဲ့ခြင်းလည်း ငြိမ်းလိမ့်မည်။

¹⁰Cast out the scorner, and contention will depart, and strife and ignominy shall cease.

¹⁰မထီမဲ့မြင်ပြုသောသူကိုနှင်ထုတ်လော့။ သို့ပြု လျှင် ရန်မာန်လည်း ထွက်သွားလိမ့်မည်။ ရန်တွေ့ခြင်းနှင့် ကဲ့ရဲ့ခြင်းလည်း ငြိမ်းလိမ့်မည်။

¹¹He that loveth pureness of heart, upon whose lips is grace, the king is his friend.

¹¹စိတ်နှလုံးဖြူစင်ခြင်းကို နှစ်သက်သောသူသည် လျောက်ပတ်သောစကားကို ပြောတတ်၍၊ ရှင်ဘုရင်နှင့် မိတ်ဆွေဖွဲ့ရလိမ့်မည်။

¹²The eyes of Jehovah preserve knowledge; but he overthroweth the words of the unfaithful.

¹²ထာဝရဘုရား၏ မျက်စိတော်သည် ပညာ အတတ်ကို စောင့်၏။ ပြစ်မှားသောသူ၏စကားကိုကား ချေတော်မူ၏။

¹³The sluggard saith, There is a lion without, I shall be killed in the streets!

¹³ပျင်းရိသောသူက၊ အိမ်ပြင်မှာခြင်္သေ့ရှိ၏။ လမ်း သို့ ထွက်လျှင် ငါသေလိမ့်မည်ဟု ဆိုတတ်၏။

¹⁴The mouth of strange women is a deep ditch: he with whom Jehovah is displeased shall fall therein.

¹⁴အမျိုးပျက်သော မိန်းမ၏နှုတ်သည် နက်သော မြေတွင်းဖြစ်၏။ ထာဝရဘုရားစက်ဆုပ်ရွံရှာတော်မူ သော သူသည်ထိုမြေတွင်းထဲသို့ ကျလိမ့်မည်။

¹⁵Folly is bound in the heart of a child; the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

¹⁵မိုက်သောသဘောသည် သူငယ်၏ စိတ်နှလုံး ထဲမှာ ထုပ်ထားလျက်ရှိ၏။ သို့သော်လည်း၊ ဆုံးမသော ကြိမ်လုံးသည် ထိုသဘောကို ဝေးစွာ နှင်တတ်၏။

¹⁶He that oppresseth the poor, it is to enrich him; he that giveth to the rich, [bringeth] only to want.

¹⁶ကိုယ်စီးပွါးအဘို့ ဆင်းရဲသားတို့ကို ညှဉ်းဆဲ သောသူနှင့်၊ ငွေရတတ်သော သူတို့အား ပေးသောသူ သည် ဆင်းရဲခြင်းသို့ အမှန်ရောက်လိမ့်မည်။

¹⁷Incline thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thy heart unto my knowledge.

¹⁷သင်၏နားကိုညွှတ်၍ ပညာရှိစကားကို နား ထောင်လော့။ ငါ့ပညာအတတ်ကိုလည်း စိတ်နှလုံး၌ စွဲလမ်းလော့။

¹⁸For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee: they shall be together fitted on thy lips.

¹⁸သင်၏နှလုံး၌ သွင်းမိနိုင်လျှင် သာယာသော အကျိုးရှိလိမ့်မည်။ သင်၏နှုတ်၌လည်း အစဉ်အသင့်ရှိ လိမ့်မည်။

¹⁹That thy confidence may be in Jehovah, I have made [them] known to thee this day, even to thee.

¹⁹သင်သည်ထာဝရဘုရား၌ ခိုလှုံမည်အကြောင်း၊ သင့်ကိုယ်တိုင် ကိုယနေ့ငါသွန်သင်၏။

²⁰Have not I written to thee excellent things, in counsels and knowledge,

²⁰သင်သည် သမ္မာတရားစကားစစ်ကိုသိမည် အကြောင်းနှင့်၊ သင့်ထံသို့ စေလွှတ်သောသူတို့အား၊ သမ္မာ စကားကို ပြန်ပြောနိုင်မည်အကြောင်း သတိပေးလျက်၊ ပညာအတတ်ကို ပြသလျက်၊ ထူးဆန်းသော အရာတို့ကို ငါရေး၍ ပေးလိုက်သည်မဟုတ်လော။

²¹that I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest carry back words of truth to them that send thee?

²²ဆင်းရဲသောသူ၏ဆင်းရဲကိုထောက်၍၊ သူ၏ ဥစ္စာကို မလုမယူနှင့်။ ဒုက္ခိတသတ္တဝါကို မြို့တံခါးဝ၌ မညှဉ်းဆဲနှင့်။

²²Rob not the poor, because he is poor, neither oppress the afflicted in the gate;

²³အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် သူတို့ အမှုကို စောင့်တော်မူမည်။ သူတို့ဥစ္စာကို လုယူသော သူတို့၏ အသက်ကို လုယူတော်မူမည်။

²³for Jehovah will plead their cause, and despoil the soul of those that despoil them.

²⁴စိတ်တိုသောသူကို မိတ်ဆွေမဖွဲ့နှင့်။ အမျက် ပြင်းထန်သော သူနှင့် အတူမလိုက်နှင့်။

²⁴Make no friendship with an angry man, and go not with a furious man;

²⁵လိုက်လျှင် သူ၏ထုံးစံဓလေ့တို့ကိုသင်၍၊ ကိုယ် အသက်ကျော့မိရာဖြစ်လိမ့်မည်။

²⁵lest thou learn his paths, and get a snare to thy soul.

²⁶လက်ဝါးချင်းရိုက်သောလူစုနှင့် သူ့ကြွေးကို အာမခံသော လူစုထဲသို့ မဝင်နှင့်။ သင်၌ပေးရန်မရှိလျှင်၊ သင့်အိပ်ရာကို အဘယ်ကြောင့် ယူသွားစေချင်သနည်း။

²⁶Be not of them that strike hands, of them that are sureties for debts:

²⁸ဘိုးဘေးစိုက်ဘူးသော မြေမှတ်တိုင်တို့ကို မရွှေ့ နှင့်။

²⁷if thou hast nothing to pay, why should he take away thy bed from under thee?

²⁹ဆောင်ရွက်စရာအမှုကိုကြိုးစား၍ ပြီးစီးစေ တတ်သောသူရှိသလော။ ထိုသူသည် သာမညလူ၏ အမှုကို မဆောင်ရွက်၊ ရှင်ဘုရင်၏ အမှုတော်ကို ဆောင် ရွက်၏။

²⁸Remove not the ancient landmark which thy fathers have set.

²⁹Hast thou seen a man diligent in his work? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before the mean.
