Nehemiah

4

1And it came to pass that when Sanballat heard that we built the wall, he was angry and very indignant, and mocked the Jews.
1Himahleh hichi ahia, kulhbang i lam uh chih Sanballatin a jakin, a hehtaa, nakpi takin a thangpaia, Judate a kouta hi.
2And he spoke before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? shall they be permitted to go on? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they finish in a day? Will they revive the stones out of the heaps of rubbish, when they are burned?
2Huchiin a unaute leh Samari-a sepaih pawl maah thu a gen a, Hiai Juda jawngkhalten bang ahia a hih uh? Kihihhat ding uhia? kithoih ding uh hia? Ni khata tawpna bawl ding u hia? A kangsa a hih chih muna piin, ninneng sunvum akipana suangte bawlthak ding uhia? achia.
3And Tobijah the Ammonite was by him, and he said, Even that which they build, if a fox went up, it would break down their stone wall. --
3Huchihlaiin Amon mi Tobia a kiangah a oma, aman, A lam uh, sehal khat kuan tou leh, a suang bang uh a lai chim ding, a chi a.
4Hear, our God, for we are despised, and turn their reproach upon their own head, and give them for a prey in a land of captivity!
4Jain, aw ka Pathian; simmohin lah ka om ngal ua: a honkouna uh amau lutungah kik sak inla, saltanna gama loh ding in amau pia in:
5And cover not their iniquity, and let not their sin be blotted out from before thee; for they have provoked the builders.
5Huan a ginatlouhna uh khuh kenla, na ma akipan a khelhna uh nul mangin omsak ken: inlamte maah lah nang a honheh sakta ngal ua.
6But we built the wall; and all the wall was joined together to the half thereof; for the people had a mind to work.
6Huchiin bang ka bawl ua; huan bang tengteng asandan kim chiangin a kizomta hi: miten lah na sem dingin lungsim a ne ngal ua.
7And it came to pass, when Sanballat, and Tobijah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites heard that the walls of Jerusalem were being repaired, that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth,
7Himahleh hichi ahia, Sanballat te, Tobia te, Arab mite leh Amon mite, Asdo miten Jerusalem kulhbangte bawlphatnain ma a sawn tou jela, a kitapsiatna a kibawlpha, chih a jak un, a thangpai mahmah uhi;
8and conspired all of them together to come to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it.
8Avek ua hong kuana Jerusalem dou ding leh, huaia buaina omsak dingin a kikum khawmta uh.
9Then we prayed to our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them.
9Himahleh i Pathian kiangah thumna i bawl ua, sun leh jana amaute vil ding i koih ua, a mau jiakin.
10And Judah said, The strength of the bearers of burdens faileth, and there is much rubbish; so that we are not able to build at the wall.
10Huan Judain, Puakgik pote hatna a bahtaa, nineng tampi a om; huchiin kulhbang bawl theilou i hi uh, a chi a.
11And our adversaries said, They shall not know, neither see, till we come into the midst of them and kill them, and put an end to the work.
11Huan i melmate un, A lak uh i hongtun ua, amaute i thah ua, nasep i khawlsak matan a theikei ding ua, muh leng a mu kei ding uh, a chi ua.
12And it came to pass that when the Jews that dwelt by them came and told us so ten times, from all the places whence they returned to us,
12Huan hichi ahi a, amau kianga teng Judate a hongpai lai un, sawm vei i kiang uah mun tengteng akipan hondou ding uh ahi, a honchi ua.
13I set in the lower places behind the wall in exposed places, I even set the people, according to their families, with their swords, their spears and their bows.
13Huaijiakin kulhbang nunglam muna mun niam penpen, mun awngthawlte ah, ka koiha, mite a inkuankuan uh dungjuiin a namsaute utoh, a teipite utoh, a thalpeute utoh ka koih hi.
14And I looked, and rose up, and said to the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not afraid of them: remember the Lord who is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your houses.
15And it came to pass that when our enemies heard that it was known to us, and that God had defeated their counsel, we returned all of us to the wall, every one to his work.
15Huan hichi ahia, i melmaten i natheita ua, Pathianin a thusawm uh bang mahlou a suaksaka, kulhbang bawl dingin i vek un mi chih a nasepna mun ah i kilehnawnta uh chih a jak lai un.
16And from that time forth the half of my servants wrought in the work, and the other half of them held the spears, and the shields, and the bows, and the corslets; and the captains were behind all the house of Judah.
16Huchiin hichi ahia huai hun akipanin, ka sikhate laka a kimkhat nasepna ah a pang ua, alak ua kimkhatin teipi, lum leh thalpeu leh sik puannakte a len ua; huan vaihawmmite Juda inkote nungah a om vek uh.
17They that built on the wall, and they that bore burdens, with those that loaded, wrought in the work with one hand, and with the other they held a weapon.
17Kulhbang bawlte leh, vangik puaten a puak lai un, michihin a khutte uh a khat nasepnaa na semin leh, a khut khat lama galvan tawiin;
18And the builders had every one his sword girded by his side, and built. And he that sounded the trumpet was by me.
18Inlammiten, mi chihin a namsau a pangah khaisaa neiin, huchiin a lamtou jel uh. Huan pengkul mutpa ka kiangah a om hi.
19And I said to the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, The work is great and extended, and we are scattered upon the wall, one far from another:
19Huchiin miliante kiang leh, vaihawmmite kiangah leh mite laka a dangdangte kiangah, Nasep thupiin, a tama, kulhbang tungah i kikhenjak ua, kigamlat takin:
20in what place ye hear the sound of the trumpet, thither shall ye assemble to us; our God will fight for us.
20Koilai mun peuha pengkul ging na jakna uah, i kiang uah huailamah kuan un; i Pathian un gal hondou sak ding ahi, ka chi a.
21And we laboured in the work; and half of them held the spears from the rising of the dawn till the stars appeared.
21Huchiin nasep i sem ua: a lak ua a kimkhatin jingsang kipat akipan aksite hongkilat matan teipi a tawi ua.
22Likewise at the same time I said to the people, Let every one with his servant lodge within Jerusalem, that in the night they may be a guard to us, and [be for] labour in the day.
22Huchibangmahin huai laiin mite kiangah, Mi chih a sikha toh Jerusalem sungah giak hen, jan chianga ei dinga galvil a hiha, sun chianga na a sep theihna ding un, ka chi a.Huchiin ken leng, ka unauten leng, ka sikhaten leng, kei hongjui galvil miten leng, i lak ua kuamahin i puante uh isuah kei ua, mi chih a galvan toh tui ah a hoh uhi.
23And neither I, nor my brethren, nor my servants, nor the men of the guard that followed me, none of us put off our garments: every one had his weapon on his right side.
23Huchiin ken leng, ka unauten leng, ka sikhaten leng, kei hongjui galvil miten leng, i lak ua kuamahin i puante uh isuah kei ua, mi chih a galvan toh tui ah a hoh uhi.
