Psalms

44

1{To the chief Musician. Of the sons of Korah. An instruction.} O God, with our ears have we heard, our fathers have told us, the work thou wroughtest in their days, in the days of old:
1Pathian aw, nidang laia a damlai ua na thilhihte ka pipute un honhilh uh ka bil un ka ja ua.
2Thou, by thy hand, didst dispossess the nations, but them thou didst plant; thou didst afflict the peoples, but them didst thou cause to spread out.
2Namte na khutin na hawlkhiaa, amau na phuta; miten a sugima, na paikhia.
3For not by their own sword did they take possession of the land, neither did their own arm save them; but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst delight in them.
3Gam luah dinga amau namsaua a lak uh ahi kei a, amau bana kihumbit leng ahi kei uhi; a tung ua na kipah jiakin na khut taklam leh, na ban leh, na mel vakin ahi jaw.
4Thou thyself art my king, O God: command deliverance for Jacob.
5Through thee will we push down our adversaries; through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.
6For I will not put confidence in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.
6Ka thalpeu ka muang kei dinga, ka namsauin honhondam sam kei ding.
7For thou hast saved us from our adversaries, and hast put them to shame that hate us.
8In God will we boast all the day, and we will praise thy name for ever. Selah.
Selah.
9But thou hast cast off, and put us to confusion, and dost not go forth with our armies;
9Tun jaw nang non khah khia a, non hihzum a; ka sepaih honte u lakah lah na pawtkhe ngeikei hi.
10Thou hast made us to turn back from the adversary, and they that hate us spoil for themselves;
10Melmate lakah non taijak saka: honhoten sum a deihdeih uh a lauhi.
11Thou hast given us over like sheep [appointed] for meat, and hast scattered us among the nations;
11Nang nek ding a seh belam bang in non pia a; namchih lakah non hihdalh behlap hi.
12Thou hast sold thy people for nought, and hast not increased [thy wealth] by their price;
12Na mite bangmahlou in na khawngta a, a man uh lah a tam het kei hi.
13Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a mockery and a derision for them that are round about us;
13Nang ka kim ua mite gensiatin non omsaka, ka kiangnai ua mite muhsit leh nuihsan in non omsak.
14Thou makest us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.
14Nang namchih lakah a selam gentehna in non omsaka, michih laka mite lu sinsanin non omsak hi.
15All the day my confusion is before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,
15Ka zumna nitum in ka maah a om gige a, ka zahlaknain hon tuam zouta hi.
16Because of the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and the avenger.
16Genthangmi leh gense mi aw jiak leh, melma leh phulami jiakin.
17All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely against thy covenant:
17Huai tengteng ka tunguah a tunga; himahleh kon mangngilh ngeikei ua, na thukhun ah juauin ka hih ngeikei uhi.
18Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy path;
18Ka lungtang uh a kihei nawn kei a, ka kalsuante un na lampi a paisan ngeisam kei hi.
19Though thou hast crushed us in the place of jackals, and covered us with the shadow of death.
19Nang sehalte omna ah non bawl ek a, sihna lima non tuamna ding in.
20If we had forgotten the name of our God, and stretched out our hands to a strange ùgod,
20I Pathian min i mangngilh hiam, gamdang Pathian lamah i khutte i jak hiam.
21Would not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.
21Pathian in huai tuh a zong khe kei dia hia! Lungtang thugukte a thei gige ngala.
22But for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are reckoned as sheep for slaughter.
22Ahi, nangmah jiakin nitumin thah in ka om gige ua; belam goh dingte banga seh ka hi uhi.
23Awake, why sleepest thou, Lord? arise, cast [us] not off for ever.
23Toupa aw, halh tanla, bangachia ihmu! hak inla, khantawnin hon khah khe ken.
24Wherefore hidest thou thy face, [and] forgettest our affliction and our oppression?
25For our soul is bowed down to the dust; our belly cleaveth unto the earth.
25Ka hinna uh leivui siin a kun a; ka gilpi uh lah leiah a belh bikbek ngala.Honpanpih dingin thou inla, na chitna jiakin hon tan in.
26Rise up for our help, and redeem us for thy loving-kindness' sake.
26Honpanpih dingin thou inla, na chitna jiakin hon tan in.
