¹Arise, shine! for thy light is come, and the glory of Jehovah is risen upon thee.

¹ ای اورشلیم، برخیز و مانند خورشید درخشان شو، جلال خداوند بر تو می‌تابد!

²For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples; but Jehovah will arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen on thee.

² تیرگی و ظلمت بر سایر ملّتها سایه خواهد افکند، امّا نور خداوند بر تو خواهد تابید، و روشنایی حضور او با شما خواهد بود.

³And the nations shall walk by thy light, and kings by the brightness of thy rising.

³ ملّتها به سوی نور تو کشیده می‌شوند، و پادشاهان به سپیده دَم روزی تازه.

⁴Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons come from afar, and thy daughters are carried upon the side.

⁴ به اطراف نگاه کن و ببین چه چیزی در حال وقوع است، قوم تو جمع می‌شوند تا به طرف خانه‌های خود بیایند! پسرانت از سرزمینهای دور می‌آیند، و دخترانت را مثل کودکان بر روی دست می‌آوردند.

⁵Then thou shalt see, and shalt be brightened, and thy heart shall throb, and be enlarged; for the abundance of the sea shall be turned unto thee, the wealth of the nations shall come unto thee.

⁵ تو این را می‌بینی و مسرور خواهی شد، و از هیجان خواهی لرزید. ثروت ملّتها را برایت خواهند آورد، و ذخایر آنها را از آن سوی دریا.

⁶A multitude of camels shall cover thee, young camels of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall publish the praises of Jehovah.

⁶ کاروان بزرگ شتر از میدیان و عیفا می‌آیند. از شَبا طلا و بُخور می‌آورند، و مردم این خبر خوش را به یکدیگر می‌دهند و می‌گویند، خدا چه کرده است.

⁷All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall serve thee: they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar, and I will beautify the house of my magnificence.

⁷ تمام گوسفندان قیدار و نبایوت را به عنوان قربانی به حضور تو می‌آورند، و برای خشنودی خداوند آنها را به قربانگاه تقدیم می‌کنند. خداوند معبد بزرگ خود را از هر زمان دیگر پرشکوه‌تر خواهد ساخت.

⁸Who are these that come flying as a cloud, and as doves to their dove-cotes?

⁸ این کشتی‌ها چیستند که مثل ابر آرام حرکت می‌کنند و مثل کبوتر به لانه‌های خود برمی‌گردند؟

⁹For the isles shall await me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from afar, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of Jehovah thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, for he hath glorified thee.

⁹ اینها کشتی‌هایی هستند که از سرزمینهای دور می‌آیند و قوم خدا را به خانه‌های خود برمی‌گردانند. آنها با خودشان نقره و طلا می‌آوردند تا نام خداوند را گرامی بدارند، نام خدای قدّوس اسرائیل، خدایی که همهٔ ملّتها را واداشت تا به قوم او احترام بگذارند.

¹⁰And the sons of the alien shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee. For in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee.

¹⁰ خداوند به اورشلیم می‌گوید: «بیگانگان دیوارهای تو را خواهند ساخت، و پادشاهان آنها تو را خدمت خواهند کرد. در خشم خودم تو را مجازات کردم، امّا اکنون لطف و رحمت خودم را به تو نشان خواهم داد.

¹¹And thy gates shall stand open continually: (they shall not be shut day nor night,) that the wealth of the nations may be brought unto thee, and that their kings may be led [to thee].

¹¹ دروازه‌های تو روز و شب باز خواهند بود، تا پادشاهان ملّتها ثروتشان را برای تو بیاورند.

¹²For the nation and the kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; and those nations shall be utterly wasted.

¹² امّا ملّتهایی که تو را خدمت نکنند، کاملاً از بین خواهند رفت.

¹³The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the cypress, pine, and box-tree together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious.

¹³ «ای اورشلیم، برای بازسازی تو چوب درختان کاج، صنوبر و سرو، بهترین چوبهای جنگلهای لبنان را خواهند آورد تا معبد بزرگ مرا زیبا و شهر مرا پرشکوه بسازند.

¹⁴And the children of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee The city of Jehovah, the Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁴ پسران کسانی‌که بر تو ستم کردند، در برابرت تعظیم می‌کنند و به تو احترام خواهند گذاشت. تمام کسانی‌که روزی تو را تحقیر می‌کردند، امروز به پای تو می‌افتند. آنها تو را به نام 'شهر خداوند' و 'صهیون شهر خدای اسرائیل' خواهند خواند.

¹⁵Instead of thy being forsaken and hated, so that no one went through [thee], I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy from generation to generation.

¹⁵ «دیگر تو فراموش شده و منفور، شهری متروک و ویران نخواهی بود. من تو را بزرگ و زیبا خواهم ساخت، و مکانی برای شادی ابدی.

¹⁶And thou shalt suck the milk of the nations, and shalt suck the breast of kings; and thou shalt know that I, Jehovah, [am] thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

¹⁶ ملّتها و پادشاهان مثل مادری که از فرزندش پرستاری می‌کند به تو توجّه خواهند کرد. تو خواهی دانست که من، خداوند تو را نجات داده‌ام، خدای قادر اسرائیل تو را آزاد نموده است.

¹⁷For bronze I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood bronze, and for stones iron; and I will make thine officers peace, and thy rulers righteousness.

¹⁷ «برای تو به عوض برنز، طلا و به جای آهن، نقره و در عوض چوب، برنز و به عوض سنگ، آهن خواهم آورد. حُکّام تو دیگر بر تو ظلم نخواهند کرد و آنها از روی عدالت و برای صلح حکومت خواهند کرد.

¹⁸Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.

¹⁸ از خشونت دیگر خبری نخواهد بود، و ویرانی سرزمین تو را خُرد نخواهد کرد. من از تو مثل دیوار مواظبت و دفاع خواهم کرد، و تو مرا تمجید خواهی نمود، چون من تو را نجات دادم.

¹⁹The sun shall be no more thy light by day, neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee; but Jehovah shall be thine everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.

¹⁹ «دیگر هیچ‌وقت خورشید نور تو در روز و ماه نور تو در شب نخواهد بود. من، خداوند، نور ابدی تو خواهم بود، نور جلال من بر تو تابان خواهد بود.

²⁰Thy sun shall no more go down, neither shall thy moon withdraw itself; for Jehovah shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

²⁰ ایّام غم و غصّه تو به پایان می‌رسد. من، خداوند که از ماه و خورشید جاودانه‌ترم، نور ابدی تو خواهم بود.

²¹Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall possess the land for ever -- the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.

²¹ قوم تو آنچه را درست است، به جا خواهد آورد. و برای ابد مالک این زمین خواهد بود. من آنها را مثل نهالی کاشته‌ام، من آنها را آفریدم، تا جلال مرا آشکار سازند. حتّی کوچکترین و افتاده‌ترین خانوادهٔ شما ملّتی بزرگ و قوی خواهد شد. وقتی زمان مناسب برسد، من این را انجام خواهم داد. من خداوند هستم!»

²²The little one shall become a thousand, and the smallest a mighty nation: I, Jehovah, will hasten it in its time.

²² حتّی کوچکترین و افتاده‌ترین خانوادهٔ شما ملّتی بزرگ و قوی خواهد شد. وقتی زمان مناسب برسد، من این را انجام خواهم داد. من خداوند هستم!»
