¹{To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David.} Free me, O Jehovah, from the evil man; preserve me from the violent man:

¹ خداوندا، مرا از دست مردم شریر نجات بده و از شر ظالم حفظ کن.

²Who devise mischiefs in [their] heart; every day are they banded together for war.

² آنها همیشه به فکر دسیسه هستند و جنگ و دعوا به راه می‌اندازند.

³They sharpen their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.

³ زبانشان چون نیش مار تیز و سخنانشان مانند زهر افعی است.

⁴Keep me, O Jehovah, from the hands of the wicked [man], preserve me from the violent man, who devise to overthrow my steps.

⁴ خداوندا، مرا از چنگ اشخاص شریر رهایی بده و از شر مردم ظالم، که نقشهٔ نابودی مرا می‌کشند، نجات بده.

⁵The proud have hidden a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the way-side; they have set traps for me. Selah.

⁵ مردم متکبّر برای من دام گسترده و سر راهم تَله گذاشته‏اند تا مرا دستگیر کنند.

⁶I have said unto Jehovah, Thou art my ùGod: give ear, O Jehovah, to the voice of my supplications.

⁶ به خداوند می‌گویم: «تو خدای من هستی،» به دعا و زاری من گوش بده.

⁷Jehovah, the Lord, is the strength of my salvation: thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

⁷ ای خداوند، خدای من، ای حامی پُرقدرت من، تو در میدان جنگ از من حمایت کردی.

⁸Grant not, O Jehovah, the desire of the wicked; further not his device: they would exalt themselves. Selah.

⁸ خداوندا، مگذار که شریران به مراد خود برسند و نقشه‌های پلید خود را عملی کنند.

⁹[As for] the head of those that encompass me, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

⁹ مگذار دشمنانم پیروز شوند بلکه توطئهٔ آنها را بلای جان خودشان گردان.

¹⁰Let burning coals fall on them; let them be cast into the fire; into deep waters, that they rise not up again.

¹⁰ اخگرهای آتش بر سرشان بریزد و به چاهی بیفتند که هرگز نتوانند بیرون بیایند.

¹¹Let not the man of [evil] tongue be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the man of violence to [his] ruin.

¹¹ کاش آنانی که سخنان ناحق برضد دیگران می‌گویند، کامران نشوند و بگذار که شرارت، مردم شریر را نابود کند.

¹²I know that Jehovah will maintain the cause of the afflicted one, the right of the needy.

¹² خداوندا، می‌دانم که به فریاد مسکینان می‏رسی و حق مظلومان را از ظالمان می‏گیری. نیکوکاران تو را ستایش خواهند کرد و در حضور تو زیست خواهند نمود.

¹³Yea, the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name; the upright shall dwell in thy presence.

¹³ نیکوکاران تو را ستایش خواهند کرد و در حضور تو زیست خواهند نمود.
