¹{A Psalm, a Song, for the Sabbath day.} It is good to give thanks unto Jehovah, and to sing psalms unto thy name, O Most High;

¹ شکرگزاری از تو، ای خداوند، چه نیکوست. نام تو، ای خدای متعال، شایستهٔ شکر و سپاس است.

²To declare thy loving-kindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness in the nights,

² صبحگاهان به‌خاطر محبّت پایدارت، و شامگاهان به سبب وفاداریت تو را سپاس می‌گوییم.

³Upon an instrument of ten strings and upon the lute; upon the Higgaion with the harp.

³ تو را با ساز ده تار و نغمهٔ بربط سپاس می‌گوییم.

⁴For thou, Jehovah, hast made me glad through thy work; I will triumph in the works of thy hands.

⁴ تو ای خداوند، مرا با کارهای عجیبت شادمان ساخته‏ای بنابراین به‌خاطر کارهایت با شادی می‌سرایم.

⁵Jehovah, how great are thy works! Thy thoughts are very deep:

⁵ ای خداوند، کارهای تو چقدر شگفت‌انگیز و افکار تو چقدر عمیق است.

⁶A brutish man knoweth not, neither doth a fool understand it.

⁶ شخص نادان آن را درک نمی‌‌کند و احمق معنی آنها را نمی‌فهمد.

⁷When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity flourish, it is that they may be destroyed for ever.

⁷ اگرچه مردم شریر مانند علف هرزه برویند و اشخاص بدکار کامران گردند، سرانجام برای همیشه از بین خواهند رفت.

⁸And thou, Jehovah, art on high for evermore.

⁸ امّا تو ای خداوند، تا ابد متعال هستی.

⁹For lo, thine enemies, O Jehovah, for lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.

⁹ دشمنان تو ای خداوند، هلاک خواهند گشت و مردم شریر پراکنده خواهند شد.

¹⁰But my horn shalt thou exalt like a buffalo's: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.

¹⁰ تو مرا مانند گاو وحشی، قوی و پُر از شادمانی ساختی.

¹¹And mine eye shall see [its desire] on mine enemies; mine ears shall hear [it] of the evil-doers that rise up against me.

¹¹ چشمانم نابودی دشمنانم را دیده، و گوشهایم فریاد شریران را شنیده است.

¹²The righteous shall shoot forth like a palm-tree; he shall grow like a cedar on Lebanon.

¹² نیکوکاران مانند نخل رشد نموده و مانند سرو لبنان نمو خواهند كرد.

¹³Those that are planted in the house of Jehovah shall flourish in the courts of our God:

¹³ آنها مانند درختانی هستند که در خانهٔ خداوند کاشته شده، و در معبد بزرگ خدای ما شکفته می‌شوند.

¹⁴They are still vigorous in old age, they are full of sap and green;

¹⁴ آنها در زمان پیری نیز میوه خواهند داد، و همیشه سبز و شاداب خواهند بود، تا اعلام کنند که خدا عادل است و هیچ بدی در او نمی‌باشد.

¹⁵To shew that Jehovah is upright: [he is] my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
