¹And in the ninth year, in the tenth month, on the tenth of the month, the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

¹A stalo sa slovo Hospodinovo ku mne deviateho roku, desiateho mesiaca, desiateho dňa toho mesiaca povediac:

²Son of man, write thee the name of the day, of this selfsame day: on this selfsame day the king of Babylon draws near to Jerusalem.

²Synu človeka, napíš si meno tohoto dňa, zapíš si tento istý deň; práve tohoto dňa sa oprel babylonský kráľ o Jeruzalem.

³And propose a parable unto the rebellious house, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Set on the pot, set [it] on, and also pour water into it.

³A povedz podobenstvo tomu spurnému domu a povieš im: Takto hovorí Pán Hospodin: Pristav ten hrniec, pristav i nalej do neho vody;

⁴Gather the pieces thereof into it, every good piece, the thigh and the shoulder; fill [it] with the choice bones:

⁴podavaj jeho kusy do neho, všetky dobré kusy, stehno i plece, naplň ho najlepšími kosťami.

⁵take the choice of the flock; and also [put] a pile of wood under it, for the bones; make it boil well, and let the bones of it seethe therein.

⁵Vezmi najvýbornejšie z drobného stáda jako aj za košiar kostí pod to. Sprav tak, aby to vrelo, až by kypelo, nech sa i jeho kosti rozvaria v ňom.

⁶Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose rust is therein, and whose rust is not gone out of it! Bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall upon it:

⁶Preto takto hovorí Pán Hospodin: Oj, beda mestu krvi, hrncu, v ktorom je jeho hrdza a ktorého hrdza nejde z neho. Povyťahuj to z neho kus po kuse; nepadne naň los.

⁷for her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the bare rock; she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it with dust.

⁷Lebo jeho krv je v jeho strede; vystavilo ju na holú skalu; nevylialo jej na zem, aby ju pokryl prach.

⁸That it might cause fury to come up to execute vengeance, I have set her blood upon the bare rock, that it should not be covered.

⁸Aby som tedy uviedol naň prchlivosť a pomstil sa náležite, dám jeho krv tiež na holú skalu, aby nebola pokrytá.

⁹Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe to the bloody city! I also will make the pile great.

⁹Preto takto hovorí Pán Hospodin: Oj, beda mestu krvi! I ja nakladiem veľkú hromadu dreva.

¹⁰Heap on the wood, kindle the fire, boil thoroughly the flesh, and spice it well, and let the bones be burned.

¹⁰Nanos mnoho dreva, roznieť oheň, uvar dobre mäso a okoreň korením, a nech prihoria kosti.

¹¹Then set it empty upon its coals, that it may be hot, and the brass of it may burn, and that its filthiness may be molten in it, [and] that its rust may be consumed.

¹¹A postav ho prázdny na jeho uhlie, aby sa zohriala a rozpálila jeho meď, a aby sa rozpustila v ňom jeho nečistota, aby bola cele strávená jeho hrdza.

¹²She hath exhausted [her] labours, yet her great rust goeth not forth out of her: let her rust be in the fire.

¹²Unavil mnohou námahou, ale nevyšlo z neho to množstvo jeho hrdze. Do ohňa jeho hrdzu!

¹³In thy filthiness is lewdness, for I have purged thee, and thou art not pure. Thou shalt no more be purged from thy filthiness, till I have satisfied my fury upon thee.

¹³V tvojej nečistote je mrzkosť. Preto, že som ťa čistil, a nie si čisté, tak už ani nebudeš čisté od svojej nečistoty, dokiaľ neukojím na tebe svoju prchlivosť.

¹⁴I Jehovah have spoken [it]: it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not go back, neither will I spare, nor will I repent. According to thy ways, and according to thy doings, shall they judge thee, saith the Lord Jehovah.

¹⁴Ja Hospodin som hovoril, prijde to, a učiním, nepopustím ani sa nezľutujem ani nebudem želieť. Podľa tvojich ciest a podľa tvojich činov ťa budú súdiť, hovorí Pán Hospodin.

¹⁵And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

¹⁵A stalo sa slovo Hospodinovo ku mne povediac:

¹⁶Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke; yet thou shalt not mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down.

¹⁶Synu človeka, hľa, vezmem od teba žiadosť tvojich očí ťažkým úderom. Ale nebudeš smútiť ani nebudeš plakať, ani nech ti neprijde tvoja slza do oka.

¹⁷Sigh in silence, make no mourning for the dead; bind thy turban upon thee, and put thy sandals upon thy feet, and cover not the beard, and eat not the bread of men.

¹⁷Vzdychaj mlčky; smútku, jako býva obyčaj pri mŕtvych, neusporiadaš, svoj zdobný ovoj uviaž na svoju hlavu a svoju obuv si obuj na svoje nohy a nezahalíš svojej brady ani nebudeš jesť chleba iných ľudí.

¹⁸-- And I spoke unto the people in the morning; and at even my wife died. And I did in the morning as I was commanded.

¹⁸Potom ráno som hovoril ľudu, a moja žena zomrela večer, a zase ráno som učinil tak, ako mi bolo rozkázané.

¹⁹And the people said unto me, Wilt thou not tell us what these things are to us, which thou doest?

¹⁹A ľudia mi povedali: Či nám neoznámiš, čo znamenajú tieto veci pre nás, že to robíš?

²⁰And I said to them, The word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

²⁰Vtedy som im povedal: Slovo Hospodinovo stalo sa ku mne povediac:

²¹Say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and your soul's longing; and your sons and your daughters whom ye have left behind shall fall by the sword.

²¹Povedz domu Izraelovmu: Takto hovorí Pán Hospodin: Hľa, poškvrním svoju svätyňu, pýchu vašej sily, žiadosť vašich očí a túžbu vašej duše, a vaši synovia a vaše dcéry, ktorých ste zanechali, padnú mečom.

²²And ye shall do as I have done: ye shall not cover the beard, neither eat the bread of men;

²²A budete robiť tak, ako ja robím: nezahalíte brady ani nebudete jesť chleba iných ľudí;

²³and your turbans shall be upon your heads, and your sandals upon your feet: ye shall not mourn nor weep; but ye shall waste away in your iniquities and moan one toward another.

²³svoje ovoje budete mať na svojich hlavách a svoju obuv na svojich nohách; nebudete smútiť ani nebudete plakať; ale budete chradnúť pre svoje neprávosti a budete úpieť druh s druhom.

²⁴Thus Ezekiel shall be unto you a sign; according to all that he hath done shall ye do: when it cometh, then ye shall know that I [am] the Lord Jehovah.

²⁴A tak vám bude Ezechiel zázrakom; všetko tak, ako robil, budete robiť, keď to prijde, a zviete, že ja som Pán Hospodin.

²⁵And thou, son of man, shall it not be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereunto they lift up their soul, their sons and their daughters,

²⁵A ty, synu človeka, či azda nebude tak, že toho dňa, ktorého vezmem od nich ich silu, radosť ich slávy, žiadosť ich očí a to, po čom sa nesie ich duša, ich synov a ich dcéry,

²⁶that in that day he that escapeth shall come unto thee, to cause [thine] ears to hear [it]?

²⁶že toho dňa prijde k tebe uprchlík, aby to hlásil tvojim ušiam?

²⁷In that day shall thy mouth be opened to him that is escaped, and thou shalt speak, and be no more dumb. So shalt thou be a sign unto them; and they shall know that I [am] Jehovah.

²⁷Toho dňa sa otvoria tvoje ústa, keď budeš s uprchlíkom, a budeš hovoriť a nebudeš viacej nemý a budeš im zázrakom, a zvedia, že ja som Hospodin.
