1And Elihu proceeded and said,
1A ešte pokračoval Elíhu a riekol:
2Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet words for +God.
2Počkaj trochu na mňa, a poviem ti, lebo mám ešte niečo hovoriť za Boha.
3I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Creator.
3Vynesiem svoju známosť zďaleka a svojmu tvorcovi vzdám spravedlivosť.
4For truly my words shall be no falsehood: one perfect in knowledge is with thee.
4Lebo istotne nebudú moje slová lživé; máš dokonalého čo do známosti pred sebou.
5Lo, ùGod is mighty, but despiseth not [any]; mighty in strength of understanding:
5Hľa, silný Bôh je svrchovane mocný a nezamieta, svrchovane mocný a premúdreho srdca.
6He saveth not the wicked alive; but he doeth justice to the afflicted.
6Nebude udržovať pri živote bezbožníka, ale dá súd biednych.
7He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous, but with kings on the throne doth he even set them for ever; and they are exalted.
7Neodvráti svojich očí od spravedlivého, ale ich posadzuje s kráľmi na trón a usadzuje ich ta na večnosť, a tak bývajú povýšení.
8And if, bound in fetters, they be held in cords of affliction,
8A jestli sú poviazaní reťazami a lapení sú do povrazov trápenia,
9Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions, because they have increased.
9vtedy im oznamuje ich skutok a ich prestúpenia, že sa pozdvihli proti nemu.
10And he openeth their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.
10A odhaľuje ich ucho pre kázeň a hovorí, aby sa navrátili od neprávosti.
11If they hearken and serve [him], they shall accomplish their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
11Ak poslúchnu a budú mu slúžiť, ztrávia svoje dni v dobrom a svoje roky v rozkoši.
12But if they hearken not, they shall pass away by the sword, and expire without knowledge.
12Ale ak neposlúchnu, nadídu na meč a zomrú v nevedomosti.
13But the godless in heart heap up anger; they cry not when he bindeth them:
13Ale ľudia pokryteckého srdca ukladajú hnev; nevolajú o pomoc, keď ich viaže.
14Their soul dieth in youth, and their life is among the unclean.
14Ich duša zomiera v mladosti a ich život medzi smilníkmi.
15But he delivereth the afflicted in his affliction, and openeth their ear in [their] oppression.
15Vytrhuje strápeného v jeho trápení a v tiesni odhaľuje ich ucho.
16Even so would he have allured thee out of the jaws of distress into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and the supply of thy table [would be] full of fatness.
16A tak by istotne vyvábil i teba z tlamy súženia do priestranstva, kde neni úzkosti, a to, čo by sa položilo na tvoj stôl, bolo by plné tuku.
17But thou art full of the judgments of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold [on thee].
17Ale ty si plný pravoty bezbožného; pravota a súd ťa držia na nohách.
18Because there is wrath, [beware] lest it take thee away through chastisement: then a great ransom could not avail thee.
18Lebo nech ťa nezvedie prchlivosť rúhavo tlieskať rukami, ani nech ťa neodkloní množstvo výkupného.
19Will he esteem thy riches? Not gold, nor all the resources of strength!
19Či ti tvoj krik pomôže z úzkosti alebo i všetko napätie sily?
20Desire not the night, when peoples are cut off from their place.
20Nedychti po noci, aby boly vyrvané národy so svojho miesta.
21Take heed, turn not to iniquity; for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.
21Chráň sa, aby si neobrátil svojej tvári k márnosti! Lebo to volíš radšej ako strádať.
22Lo, ùGod is exalted in his power: who teacheth as he?
22Hľa, silný Bôh vládne velebne vo svojej sile! Kto je jemu podobný učiteľ?
23Who hath appointed him his way? or who hath said, Thou hast wrought unrighteousness?
23Kto mu naložil jeho cestu? Alebo kto povie: Robíš neprávosť?
24Remember that thou magnify his work, which men celebrate.
24Pamätaj, aby si vyvyšoval jeho dielo, ktoré ospevujú ľudia.
25All men look at it; man beholdeth [it] afar off.
25Všetci ľudia ho vidia; smrteľný človek sa díva naň zďaleka.
26Lo, ùGod is great, and we comprehend [him] not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.
26Hľa, silný Bôh je taký velebný, že to nevieme pochopiť; počet jeho rokov sa nedá vystihnúť.
27For he draweth up the drops of water: they distil in rain from the vapour which he formeth,
27Lebo vyvodí kvapky vody; pršia ako dážď, podľa druhu jeho mhly,
28Which the skies pour down [and] drop upon man abundantly.
28ktorými tečú i najvyššie oblaky a kropia na mnohých ľudí.
29But can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, [or] the crashing of his pavilion?
29Áno, či potom porozumie voľakto rozpätiu oblakov, hrmotu jeho stánu?
30Lo, he spreadeth his light around him, and covereth the bottom of the sea.
30Hľa, rozprestiera nad sebou svoje svetlo a pokrýva korene mora.
31For with them he judgeth the peoples; he giveth food in abundance.
31Lebo tými vecami súdi ľudí a dáva pokrmu hojnosť.
32[His] hands he covereth with lightning, and commandeth it where it is to strike.
32Svoje ruky pokrýva svetlom hromu a velí mu, aby uderil do cieľa.
33His thundering declareth concerning him; the cattle even, concerning its coming.
33Ohlasuje o ňom jeho rachot, i ten dobytok, a čo ešte len keď už vystupuje!
