1The wisdom of women buildeth their house; but folly plucketh it down with her hands.

2He that walketh in his uprightness feareth Jehovah; but he that is perverted in his ways despiseth him.
2Ten, kto chodí vo svojej úprimnosti, bojí sa Hospodina; ale ten, ktorého cesty sú prevrátené, pohŕda ním.
3In the fool's mouth is a rod of pride; but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.
3V ústach blázna je prút pýchy; ale múdrych ostríhajú ich múdre rty.
4Where no oxen are, the crib is clean; but much increase is by the strength of the ox.
4Keď nieto volov, sú prázdne jasle, ale mnoho dôchodku je v sile vola.
5A faithful witness will not lie; but a false witness uttereth lies.
5Verný svedok neklame; ale falošný svedok hovorí všelijakú lož.
6A scorner seeketh wisdom, and there is none [for him]; but knowledge is easy unto the intelligent.
6Posmievač hľadá múdrosť, ale jej niet, a rozumnému je známosť ľahká.
7Go from the presence of a foolish man, in whom thou perceivest not the lips of knowledge.
7Iď zpred muža blázna, a nepoznáš u neho rtov známosti.
8The wisdom of the prudent is to discern his way; but the folly of the foolish is deceit.
8Múdrosťou opatrného je rozumieť svojej ceste, a bláznovstvom nerozumných je lesť.
9Fools make a mock at trespass; but for the upright there is favour.
9Bláznom sa posmieva obeť za hriech; ale medzi úprimnými je záľuba.
10The heart knoweth its own bitterness, and a stranger doth not intermeddle with its joy.
10Srdce zná horkosť svojej duše, a do jeho radosti sa neprimieša cudzí.
11The house of the wicked shall be overthrown; but the tent of the upright shall flourish.
11Dom bezbožných bude vyhladený, ale stán úprimných bude rozkvitať.
12There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof is the ways of death.
12Niektorá cesta je priamou pred človekom, ale jej koniec cestami smrti.
13Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful, and the end of mirth is sadness.
13Aj vo smiechu bolieva srdce, a po nej, po radosti, býva zármutok.
14The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways, and the good man from what is in himself.
14Svojich ciest sa nasýti ten, kto sa odvrátil srdcom od Boha, a dobrý človek sa vzdiali od neho.
15The simple believeth every word; but the prudent [man] heedeth his going.
15Hlúpy verí každému slovu; ale opatrný rozumie svojmu kroku.
16A wise [man] feareth and departeth from evil; but the foolish is overbearing and confident.
16Múdry sa bojí a odstúpi od zlého, ale blázon dotiera a je smelý.
17He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly, and a man of mischievous devices is hated.
17Prudký človek sa dopúšťa bláznovstva, a človek, ktorý vymýšľa zlé, bude nenávidený.
18The simple inherit folly; but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
18Hlúpi dedia bláznovstvo; ale opatrní budú korunovaní známosťou.
19The evil bow before the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous [man].
19Zlí sa budú musieť zohnúť pred dobrými a bezbožníci pri bránach spravedlivého.
20He that is poor is hated even of his own neighbour; but the rich hath many friends.
20I svojmu blížnemu býva nenávidený chudobný; ale bohatý má mnoho tých, ktorí ho milujú.
21He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth; but he that is gracious to the afflicted, happy is he.
21Ten, kto pohŕda svojím blížnym, hreší; ale ten, kto sa zľutováva nad strápenými, je blahoslavený.
22Do they not err that devise evil? but loving-kindness and truth are for those that devise good.
22Či azda neblúdia tí, ktorí vymýšľajú zlé? Ale milosť a pravda bude tým, ktorí smýšľajú dobré.
23In all labour there is profit; but the talk of the lips [tendeth] only to want.
23Z každej práce býva nejaký zisk; ale slovo rtov vedie iba do núdze.
24The crown of the wise is their riches; the folly of the foolish is folly.
24Korunou múdrych je ich bohatstvo, a bláznovstvom nerozumných je bláznovstvo.
25A true witness delivereth souls; but deceit uttereth lies.
25Pravdivý svedok vytrhuje duše; ale ľstivý hovorí všelijakú lož.
26In the fear of Jehovah is strong confidence, and his children shall have a place of refuge.
26V bázni Hospodinovej je pevná nádej, a takého človeka synovia budú mať útočište.
27The fear of Jehovah is a fountain of life, to turn away from the snares of death.
27Bázeň Hospodinova je prameňom života vyhnúť sa osídlam smrti.
28In the multitude of people is the king's glory; but in the lack of people is the ruin of a prince.
28Vo množstve ľudu je sláva kráľova; ale kde niet ľudí, zkaza vladára.
29He that is slow to anger is of great understanding; but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.
29Človek, pomalý do hnevu, má mnoho rozumu; ale prchký prejavuje bláznovstvo.
30A sound heart is the life of the flesh; but envy the rottenness of the bones.
30Životom každého tela je zdravé srdce; ale hnisom v kostiach je závisť.
31He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker; but he that honoureth Him is gracious to the needy.
31Ten, kto utiskuje chudobného, potupuje toho, ktorý ho učinil, a ctí ho ten, kto sa zľutováva nad biednym.
32The wicked is driven away by his evil-doing; but the righteous trusteth, [even] in his death.
32Vo svojom nešťastí býva porazený bezbožný; ale spravedlivý sa nadeje i vo svojej smrti.
33Wisdom resteth in the heart of the intelligent [man]; but that which is in the foolish maketh itself known.
33V srdci rozumného odpočíva múdrosť, a to, čo je vo vnútornostiach bláznov, sa pozná.
34Righteousness exalteth a nation; but sin is a reproach to peoples.
34Spravedlivosť vyvyšuje národ; ale hriech je potupou národom.
35The king's favour is toward a wise servant; but his wrath is [against] him that causeth shame.
35Priazeň kráľova bude rozumnému sluhovi; ale jeho prchlivosť bude údelom tomu, kto robí hanbu.
