1Bless Jehovah, O my soul! Jehovah my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with majesty and splendour;
1Dobroreč, moja duša, Hospodinovi! Hospodine, môj Bože, si veľmi veliký! Obliekol si veličenstvo a nádheru.
2Covering thyself with light as with a garment, stretching out the heavens like a tent-curtain; --
2Odievaš sa svetlom ako rúchom; rozťahuješ nebesia, ako pokrovec,
3Who layeth the beams of his upper chambers in the waters, who maketh clouds his chariot, who walketh upon the wings of the wind;
3ktorý si kleníš na vodách svoje paláce; ktorý si učinil oblaky svojím vozom; ktorý sa vznášaš na krýdlach vetra;
4Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flame of fire.
4ktorý robíš vetry svojimi posly, svojimi svätoslužobníkmi plápolajúci oheň.
5He laid the earth upon its foundations: it shall not be removed for ever.
5Založil si zem na jej stĺpoch tak, že sa nepohne na večné veky.
6Thou hadst covered it with the deep, as with a vesture; the waters stood above the mountains:
6Priepasťou si to všetko prikryl ako rúchom. Nad vrchami stály vody.
7At thy rebuke they fled, at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away; --
7Od tvojho karhania zutekaly; ponáhľaly sa pred hrmotom tvojho hromu.
8The mountains rose, the valleys sank, unto the place which thou hadst founded for them; --
8Vystúpily na vrchy; sostúpily do údolí na miesto, ktoré si im založil.
9Thou hast set a bound which they may not pass over, that they turn not again to cover the earth.
9Položil si hranice, aby neprekročily, aby sa nevrátily pokryť zem.
10He sendeth the springs into the valleys: they run among the mountains;
10Púšťaš pramene riečišťami, aby tiekly pomedzi vrchy.
11They give drink to every beast of the field; the wild asses quench their thirst.
11Napájajú každý živočuch poľný; divokí osli uhášajú svoj smäd.
12The birds of heaven dwell by them; they give forth their voice from among the branches.
12Nad nimi hniezdi vtáctvo nebies; zpomedzi konárov vydávajú svoj hlas.
13He watereth the mountains from his upper-chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.
13Zvlažuješ vrchy zo svojich výšin; z ovocia tvojich diel sýti sa celá zem.
14He maketh the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man; bringing forth bread out of the earth,
14Dávaš, aby rástla tráva hovädu a bylina na službu človeka, aby tak vyvodil chlieb zo zeme.
15And wine which gladdeneth the heart of man; making [his] face shine with oil; and with bread he strengtheneth man's heart.
15A víno obveseľuje srdce smrteľného človeka, aby sa skvela tvár nad olej, a pokrm posilňuje srdce človeka.
16The trees of Jehovah are satisfied, the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted,
16Nasycujú sa stromy Hospodinove, cedry Libanona, ktoré posadil,
17Where the birds make their nests; [as for] the stork, the fir trees are her house.
17kde si vtáci robia svoje hniezda, bocian, ktorý má svoj dom na cyprusoch.
18The high mountains are for the wild goats; the cliffs, a refuge for the rock-badgers.
18Vysoké vrchy sú kamzíkom, skaly útočišťom zajačkom.
19He made the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth its going down.
19Učinil mesiac na určenie časov, a slnce zná svoj západ.
20Thou makest darkness, and it is night, wherein all the beasts of the forest creep forth:
20Rozkladáš tmu, a je noc, v ktorej sa hemží všetka lesná zver.
21The young lions roar after the prey, and to seek their food from ùGod.
21Ľvíčatá revú po koristi a idú hľadať svoj pokrm od silného Boha.
22The sun ariseth, they retreat, and lay them down in their dens.
22Keď vychádza slnce, zase sa shromažďujú a líhajú do svojich brlohov.
23Man goeth forth unto his work, and to his labour until the evening.
23Tu zase vyjde človek po svojej práci, aby robil až do večera.
24How manifold are thy works, O Jehovah! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.
24Jaké mnohé a veľké sú tvoje skutky, Hospodine! Všetky si múdre učinil! Zem je plná tvojho imania.
25Yonder is the great and wide sea: therein are moving things innumerable, living creatures small and great.
25Tu hľa, more, veľké a širošíre, kde je hmyzu bez počtu, zvierat malých i veľkých.
26There go the ships; [there] that leviathan, which thou hast formed to play therein.
26Tam chodia lode; tam i leviatán, ktorého si utvoril, aby sa v ňom hral.
27These all look unto thee, that thou mayest give their food in its season:
27Všetko to tvorstvo očakáva na teba, aby si im dal pokrm, keď tomu čas.
28That thou givest unto them, they gather; thou openest thy hand, they are filled with good.
28Keď im dávaš, sberajú; keď otváraš svoju ruku, sýtia sa dobrým.
29Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled; thou takest away their breath, they expire and return to their dust.
29Keď skrývaš svoju tvár, desia sa; keď odnímaš ich ducha, mrú a navracajú sa k svojmu prachu.
30Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created, and thou renewest the face of the earth.
30A zase, keď posielaš svojho ducha, tvoria sa, a obnovuješ tvár zeme.
31The glory of Jehovah will endure for ever; Jehovah will rejoice in his works.
31Nech je sláva Hospodinova na veky! Nech sa raduje Hospodin vo svojich dielach!
32He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth; he toucheth the mountains, and they smoke.
32Ktorý keď len pozrie na zem, trasie sa; keď sa dotkne vrchov, kúria sa.
33I will sing unto Jehovah as long as I live; I will sing psalms to my God while I have my being.
33Spievať budem Hospodinovi, dokiaľ žijem; žalmy budem spievať svojmu Bohu, kým len trvám.
34My meditation shall be pleasant unto him; I will rejoice in Jehovah.
34Nech mu je príjemné moje premýšľanie, a ja sa budem radovať v Hospodinovi.
35Sinners shall be consumed out of the earth, and the wicked shall be no more. Bless Jehovah, O my soul. Hallelujah!
35Nech vyhynú hriešnici zo zeme a bezbožníci tak, aby ich už nebolo!
36Dobroreč, moja duša, Hospodinovi! Hallelujah!
