1Give ye thanks unto Jehovah, call upon his name; make known his acts among the peoples.
1Oslavujte Hospodina! Vzývajte jeho meno! Oznamujte jeho skutky medzi národami!
2Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him; meditate upon all his wondrous works.
2Spievajte mu, spievajte mu žalmy! Rozmýšľajte o všetkých jeho divoch!
3Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek Jehovah.
3Chváľte sa menom jeho svätosti. Nech sa raduje srdce tých, ktorí hľadajú Hospodina!
4Seek Jehovah and his strength, seek his face continually;
4Hľadajte Hospodina a jeho silu; hľadajte jeho tvár ustavične!
5Remember his wondrous works which he hath done, his miracles and the judgments of his mouth:
5Pamätajte na jeho divy, ktoré učinil, na jeho zázraky a na súdy jeho úst,
6Ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye sons of Jacob, his chosen ones.
6vy, semeno Abraháma, jeho služobníka, synovia Jakobovi, jeho vyvolení!
7He, Jehovah, is our God; his judgments are in all the earth.
7On je Hospodin, náš Bôh; jeho súdy na celej zemi.
8He is ever mindful of his covenant, -- the word which he commanded to a thousand generations, --
8Pamätá na veky, na svoju smluvu, na slovo, ktoré prikázal, na tisíc pokolení,
9Which he made with Abraham, and of his oath unto Isaac;
9na svoju smluvu, ktorú učinil s Abrahámom, a na svoju prísahu, ktorú prisahal Izákovi.
10And he confirmed it unto Jacob for a statute, unto Israel for an everlasting covenant,
10A postavil to Jakobovi za ustanovenie, Izraelovi za večnú smluvu
11Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance;
11povediac: Tebe dám Kananejskú zem za podiel vášho dedičstva,
12When they were a few men in number, of small account, and strangers in it.
12vtedy, keď ich bol ešte len malý počet, keď ich bolo máličko, a boli v nej pohostínmi.
13And they went from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people.
13A chodili od národa k národu a z kráľovstva k inému ľudu.
14He suffered no man to oppress them, and reproved kings for their sakes,
14Nedopustil niktorému človekovi, aby ich utiskoval, a karhal kráľov pre nich
15[Saying,] Touch not mine anointed ones, and do my prophets no harm.
15povediac: Nedotýkajte sa mojich pomazaných a mojim prorokom nerobte zlého!
16And he called for a famine upon the land; he broke the whole staff of bread.
16A keď privolal hlad na zem a polámal každú oporu chleba,
17He sent a man before them: Joseph was sold for a bondman.
17poslal pred nimi znamenitého muža; Jozef bol predaný za sluhu.
18They afflicted his feet with fetters; his soul came into irons;
18Sovreli jeho nohy putami; jeho duša sa dostala do železa,
19Until the time when what he said came about: the word of Jehovah tried him.
19až do času, keď prišlo jeho slovo, dokiaľ ho nezkúsila reč Hospodinova jako oheň zlato.
20The king sent and loosed him -- the ruler of peoples -- and let him go free.
20Vtedy poslal kráľ a prepustil ho, panovník národov, a rozviazal ho.
21He made him lord of his house, and ruler over all his possessions:
21Učinil ho pánom svojho domu a panovníkom nad celým svojím imaním,
22To bind his princes at his pleasure, and teach his elders wisdom.
22aby pútal jeho kniežatá podľa svojej vôle a jeho starcov vyučoval múdrosti.
23And Israel came into Egypt, and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
23A tak prišiel Izrael do Egypta, a Jakob pohostínil v zemi Chámovej,
24And he made his people exceeding fruitful, and made them mightier than their oppressors.
24kde veľmi plodným učinil Hospodin svoj ľud a učinil ho mocnejším nad jeho protivníkov.
25He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilly with his servants.
25Prevrátil ich srdce, aby nenávideli jeho ľud, aby sa ľstivo chovali naproti jeho služobníkom.
26He sent Moses his servant, [and] Aaron whom he had chosen:
26Poslal Mojžiša, svojho služobníka, Árona, ktorého si vyvolil.
27They set his signs among them, and miracles in the land of Ham.
27Predložil im slová jeho znamení a zázrakov v zemi Chámovej.
28He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.
28Poslal tmu a zatmil, a nesprotivili sa jeho slovám.
29He turned their waters into blood, and caused their fish to die.
29Obrátil ich vody na krv a usmrtil ich ryby.
30Their land swarmed with frogs, -- in the chambers of their kings.
30Ich zem sa hemžila žabami, a to aj v izbách ich kráľov.
31He spoke, and there came dog-flies, [and] gnats in all their borders.
31Povedal, a prišla smes žížaly, vši vo všetkých ich krajoch.
32He gave them hail for rain, [and] flaming fire in their land;
32Dal im miesto dažďa hrád, oheň horiaci plameňom, na ich zem.
33And he smote their vines and their fig-trees, and broke the trees of their borders.
33A zbil ich vinič a ich fík a polámal stromy ich kraja.
34He spoke, and the locust came, and the cankerworm, even without number;
34Povedal, a prišly kobylky a chrústi v množstve bez počtu.
35And they devoured every herb in their land, and ate up the fruit of their ground.
35A požraly všetku bylinu v ich zemi, jako aj požraly plody ich poľa.
36And he smote every firstborn in their land, the firstfruits of all their vigour.
36K tomu ešte pobil všetko prvorodené v ich zemi, prvotinu každej ich sily.
37And he brought them forth with silver and gold; and there was not one feeble among their tribes.
37A vyviedol ich so striebrom a zlatom, a nebolo v jeho pokoleniach takého, ktorý by bol klesal.
38Egypt rejoiced at their departure; for the fear of them had fallen upon them.
38Egypťania sa radovali, keď vychádzali; lebo padol na nich ich strach.
39He spread a cloud for a covering, and fire to give light in the night.
39Roztiahol oblak na zastretie a oheň, aby osvecoval noc.
40They asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
40Keď si žiadal ľud, priviedol mu prepelice a sýtil ich chlebom z neba.
41He opened the rock, and waters gushed forth; they ran in the dry places [like] a river.
41Otvoril skalu, a tiekly vody; išly vypráhlou zemou jako rieka.
42For he remembered his holy word, [and] Abraham his servant;
42Lebo pamätal na slovo svojej svätosti, na Abraháma, svojho služobníka.
43And he brought forth his people with gladness, his chosen with rejoicing;
43A tak vyviedol svoj ľud s veselosťou, s plesaním svojich vyvolených.
44And he gave them the lands of the nations, and they took possession of the labour of the peoples:
44Dal im zeme pohanov, a zdedili to, čo namáhavou prácou nadobudly národy,
45That they might keep his statutes, and observe his laws. Hallelujah!
45aby ostríhali jeho ustanovenia a zachovávali jeho zákony, Hallelujah!
