1Why are the nations in tumultuous agitation, and [why] do the peoples meditate a vain thing?
1Prečo sa búria národy, a ľudia myslia márne veci?
2The kings of the earth set themselves, and the princes plot together, against Jehovah and against his anointed:
2Kráľovia zeme sa postavujú, a kniežatá sa spolu radia proti Hospodinovi a proti jeho pomazanému a hovoria:
3Let us break their bonds asunder, and cast away their cords from us!
3Roztrhajme ich sväzky a zahoďme od seba ich povrazy.
4He that dwelleth in the heavens shall laugh, the Lord shall have them in derision.
4Ale ten, ktorý prebýva v nebesiach, smeje sa; Pán sa im vysmieva.
5Then will he speak to them in his anger, and in his fierce displeasure will he terrify them:
5Vtedy bude hovoriť s nimi vo svojom hneve a svojou prchlivosťou ich predesí a povie:
6And *I* have anointed my king upon Zion, the hill of my holiness.
6Ale ja som ustanovil svojho kráľa nad Sionom, vrchom svojej svätosti.
7I will declare the decree: Jehovah hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; *I* this day have begotten thee.
7Rozprávať budem o ustanovení zákona. Hospodin mi povedal: Ty si môj syn; ja som ťa dnes splodil.
8Ask of me, and I will give thee nations for an inheritance, and for thy possession the ends of the earth:
8Požiadaj odo mňa, a dám ti národy, tvoje dedičstvo, tvoje državie, končiny zeme.
9Thou shalt break them with a sceptre of iron, as a potter's vessel thou shalt dash them in pieces.
9Roztlčieš ich železným prútom; roztrieskaš ich ako nádobu hrnčiara.
10And now, O kings, be ye wise, be admonished, ye judges of the earth.
10A tak teraz buďte rozumní, kráľovia; učte sa, sudcovia zeme!
11Serve Jehovah with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
11Slúžte Hospodinovi v bázni a veseľte sa s trasením.
12Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish in the way, though his anger burn but a little. Blessed are all who have their trust in him.
12Ľúbajte syna, aby sa nerozhneval, a pohynuli by ste na ceste, lebo sa skoro zapáli jeho hnev. Blahoslavení sú všetci, ktorí sa utiekajú k nemu.
