¹{A Psalm of David; when he was in the wilderness of Judah.} O God, thou art my ùGod; early will I seek thee. My soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh languisheth for thee, in a dry and weary land without water:

¹Žalm Dávidov, keď bol na Judskej púšti.

²To see thy power and thy glory, as I have beheld thee in the sanctuary;

²Bože, ty si môj silný Bôh. Hľadám ťa hneď za svitania. Moja duša žízni túžbou po tebe; moje telo práhne po tebe vo vyschlej zemi a zomdlenej bez vody.

³For thy loving-kindness is better than life: my lips shall praise thee.

³Tak budem hľadieť na teba v svätyni, aby som videl tvoju silu a tvoju slávu.

⁴So will I bless thee while I live; I will lift up my hands in thy name.

⁴Lebo tvoja milosť je lepšia ako život. Moje rty ťa budú velesláviť.

⁵My soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness, and my mouth shall praise [thee] with joyful lips.

⁵Tak ti budem dobrorečiť po celý svoj život; v tvojom mene budem pozdvihovať svoje ruky.

⁶When I remember thee upon my bed, I meditate on thee in the night-watches:

⁶Jako tukom a sadlom bude sa tam sýtiť moja duša, a moje ústa ťa budú chváliť plesajúcimi rty.

⁷For thou hast been my help, and in the shadow of thy wings will I sing for joy.

⁷Keď sa rozpomínam na teba na svojej loži, za nočných stráží, rozmýšľam o tebe.

⁸My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

⁸Lebo si mi bol na pomoci, a preto budem plesať v tôni tvojich krýdel.

⁹But those that seek my soul, to destroy [it], shall go into the lower parts of the earth;

⁹Moja duša ľne k tebe idúc za tebou. Tvoja pravica ma zdržuje.

¹⁰They shall be given over to the power of the sword; they shall be the portion of foxes.

¹⁰Ale oni hľadajú moju dušu na záhubu a preto sostúpia do spodku zeme.

¹¹But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: for the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.

¹¹Vydajú ho ostriu meča; budú za podiel líškam.

¹²Ale kráľ sa bude radovať v Bohu. Chváliť sa ním bude každý, kto prisahá na neho, lebo budú zapchané ústa tým, ktorí hovoria lož.
