Song of Solomon

3

1On my bed, in the nights, I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.
1Na svojej loži po nociach hľadala som toho, ktorého miluje moja duša; hľadala som ho, ale som ho nenašla.
2I will rise now, and go about the city; In the streets and in the broadways Will I seek him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.
2Nože tedy nech vstanem a obídem po meste; po námestiach a po uliciach budem hľadať toho, ktorého miluje moja duša. Hľadala som ho, ale som ho nenašla.
3The watchmen that go about the city found me: -- Have ye seen him whom my soul loveth?
3Našli ma strážcovia, ktorí obchádzajú po meste. Či ste nevideli toho, ktorého miluje moja duša?
4-- Scarcely had I passed from them, When I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go, Until I had brought him into my mother's house, And into the chamber of her that conceived me.
4Len čo som odišla od nich, našla som toho, ktorého miluje moja duša. Chopila som sa ho a nepustila som ho, dokiaľ som ho nedoviedla do domu svojej matky a do izby tej, ktorá ma počala.
5I charge you, daughters of Jerusalem, By the gazelles, or by the hinds of the field, That ye stir not up, nor awake [my] love, till he please.
5Prísahou vás zaväzujem, dcéry Jeruzalema, na srny alebo jelenice poľa, aby ste neprebudily ani nebudily mojej lásky, dokiaľ by sama nechcela.
6Who is this, [she] that cometh up from the wilderness Like pillars of smoke, Perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, With all powders of the merchant? ...
6Kto je to tá, ktorá vystupuje od púšte jako stĺpy dymu; okadená myrrhou a kadivom nad každý prach kupca-voninára?
7Behold his couch, Solomon's own: Threescore mighty men are about it, Of the mighty of Israel.
7Hľa, posteľ Šalamúnova: šesťdesiat junákov vôkol nej z junákov Izraelových.
8They all hold the sword, Experts in war; Each hath his sword upon his thigh Because of alarm in the nights.
8Všetci narábajú mečom, vycvičení v boji; každý má svoj meč pri svojom boku zo strachu vnoci.
9King Solomon made himself a palanquin Of the wood of Lebanon.
9Nosidlo si spravil kráľ Šalamún z dreva Libanona.
10Its pillars he made of silver, Its support of gold, Its seat of purple; The midst thereof was paved [with] love By the daughters of Jerusalem.
10Jeho stĺpy porobil zo striebra, jeho operadlo zo zlata, jeho sedisko z purpuru, jeho vnútrajšok je vystlaný láskou od dcér Jeruzalema.
11Go forth, daughters of Zion, And behold king Solomon With the crown wherewith his mother crowned him In the day of his espousals, And in the day of the gladness of his heart.
11Vyjdite a vidzte, dcéry Siona, kráľa Šalamúna v korune, ktorou ho korunovala jeho matka v deň jeho veselia a v deň radosti jeho srdca.
