1Let as many bondmen as are under yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and the teaching be not blasphemed.
1 Borey kulu kaŋ go bannyataray calu* ra ma ngey koyey lasaabu kaŋ i to beeray kulu cine, zama borey ma si Irikoy maa d'iri dondonandiyaŋo jance.
2And they that have believing masters, let them not despise [them] because they are brethren; but let them the rather serve them with subjection, because they are faithful and beloved, who profit by the good and ready service [rendered]. These things teach and exhort.
2 Bannyey kaŋ koyey ga cimandi ma si donda ngey koyey zama nya-izeyaŋ no. A ga bisa zaati i ma may ka tonton i se, zama borey kaŋ goono ga du i goyo albarka ga ti cimandikoy kaŋ i ga baa gumo. Ma hayey din dondonandi k'i waazu mo.
3If any one teach differently, and do not accede to sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the teaching which [is] according to piety,
3 Boro kulu kaŋ goono ga dondonandiyaŋ waani fo te, nga no, bora si g'iri Rabbi Yesu Almasihu sanni cimikoyey ta, da dondonandiyaŋo kaŋ ga saba nda Irikoy ganayaŋ,
4he is puffed up, knowing nothing, but sick about questions and disputes of words, out of which arise envy, strife, injurious words, evil suspicions,
4 bora din furo boŋbeeray ra. A si hay kulu bay, amma yanje nda kakaw sanni no a ga ba gumo. Woodin yaŋ mo no ga kande canse, da yanje, da alaasiray, da sikkayaŋ laaley,
5constant quarrellings of men corrupted in mind and destitute of the truth, holding gain to be [the end of] piety.
5 da kakawey kaŋ si ban, kaŋ yaŋ fun borey kaŋ laakaley sara yaŋ do. I si cimi bay koyne. I ga tammahã kaŋ Irikoy ganayaŋ ya riiba ceeciyaŋ fondo no.
6But piety with contentment *is* great gain.
7For we have brought nothing into the world: [it is] [manifest] that neither can we carry anything out.
7 Zama iri mana furo ndunnya ra da hay kulu. Iri si fun a ra mo da hay kulu.
8But having sustenance and covering, we will be content with these.
8 Amma d'iri gonda ŋwaari nda bankaaray, woodin yaŋ ga wasa iri se.
9But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and many unwise and hurtful lusts, which plunge men into destruction and ruin.
9 Amma borey kaŋ ga ba ngey ma ciya arzakanteyaŋ go ga kaŋ siyaŋ da hirrimi da bine ibaay laalo yaamo boobo ra kaŋ yaŋ ga borey candi ka daŋ hasaraw da halaciyaŋ ra.
10For the love of money is [the] root of every evil; which some having aspired after, have wandered from the faith, and pierced themselves with many sorrows.
10 Zama nooru baakasinay ga ti laala dumi kulu kaaji. Woodin ceeciyaŋ do mo no boro fooyaŋ daray ka kamba cimi fonda ganayaŋ gaa, ka ngey boŋ gooru mo da bine saray boobo.
11But *thou*, O man of God, flee these things, and pursue righteousness, piety, faith, love, endurance, meekness of spirit.
12Strive earnestly [in] the good conflict of faith. Lay hold of eternal life, to which thou hast been called, and hast confessed the good confession before many witnesses.
13I enjoin thee before God who preserves all things in life, and Christ Jesus who witnessed before Pontius Pilate the good confession,
13 Ay ga ni lordi Irikoy jine, nga kaŋ ga hay kulu funandi, da Almasihu Yesu jine mo kaŋ na seeda hanno te Bilatos Buntus jine:
14that thou keep the commandment spotless, irreproachable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ;
14 ni ma lordo wo gaay ka goro mo taali nda jance hari si, hala zaaro kaŋ iri Rabbo Yesu Almasihu ga bangay.
15which in its own time the blessed and only Ruler shall shew, the King of those that reign, and Lord of those that exercise lordship;
15 Irikoy g'a cabe a alwaato kaŋ ga hagu ra, Irikoy kaŋ ga ti Dabariko follonka, kaŋ albarka go a se, nga kaŋ ga ti bonkooney Bonkoono da koyey Koyo.
16who only has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light; whom no man has seen, nor is able to see; to whom [be] honour and eternal might. Amen.
16 Nga hinne se no buuyaŋ-jaŋay go, nga kaŋ go annura ra kaŋ boro kulu si du ka to a gaa, nga kaŋ boro kulu mana du ka di a baa ce fo, i si hin ka di a mo. Darza nda dabari mo ma bara a gaa hal abada. Amin!
17Enjoin on those rich in the present age not to be high-minded, nor to trust on the uncertainty of riches; but in the God who affords us all things richly for [our] enjoyment;
Nga no g'iri no hay kulu nda baayaŋ, iri ma maa i kaani se.
18to do good, to be rich in good works, to be liberal in distributing, disposed to communicate [of their substance],
18 M'i lordi ka ne i ma gomni te, ka ciya arzakanteyaŋ goy hanney ra. I ma bara nda nooyaŋ anniya, i ma bara mo soolante ka borey gaakasinay.
19laying by for themselves a good foundation for the future, that they may lay hold of [what is] really life.
Yaadin gaa mo no i ga du fundi, cimi wano.
20O Timotheus, keep the entrusted deposit, avoiding profane, vain babblings, and oppositions of false-named knowledge,
Ma banda bare sanney kaŋ yaŋ sinda nafa gaa, da wo kaŋ manti Irikoy wane yaŋ gaa, da bayray kakawey kaŋ i ga ne cimiyaŋ no, amma tangari no.
21of which some having made profession, have missed the faith. Grace [be] with thee.
21 Boro fooyaŋ ne ngey go ga cimo din gana, amma i harta cimi fonda ganayaŋ gaa. Gomni ma bara araŋ banda.
