1Rebuke not an elder sharply, but exhort [him] as a father, younger [men] as brethren,
2elder women as mothers, younger women as sisters, with all purity.
2 wayboro zeeney mo danga nyayaŋ cine, wo kaŋ yaŋ ga zanka mo danga waymeyaŋ cine, bine hananyaŋ kulu ra.
3Honour widows who are really widows;
4but if any widow have children or descendants, let them learn first to be pious as regards their own house, and to render a return on their side to [their] parents; for this is acceptable in the sight of God.
5Now she who [is] a widow indeed, and is left alone, has put [her] hope in God, and continues in supplications and prayers night and day.
5 Wayboro kaŋ goboro no da cimi, kaŋ sinda boro kulu kaŋ g'a jare, a na nga beeja sinji Irikoy gaa. A go ga mo ye ŋwaarayey da adduwey gaa mo cin da zaari.
6But she that lives in habits of self-indulgence is dead [while] living.
6 Amma goboro kaŋ ga nga laakalo ye ndunnya kaani gaa ya buuko no za a ga funa.
7And these things enjoin, that they may be irreproachable.
8But if any one does not provide for his own, and specially for those of [his] house, he has denied the faith, and is worse than the unbeliever.
8 Amma boro kulu kaŋ si ga nga borey saajaw, sanku fa nga almayaaley, a na cimi fonda ze, a jaase boro kaŋ mana cimandi.
9Let a widow be put upon the list, being of not less than sixty years, [having been] wife of one man,
10borne witness to in good works, if she have brought up children, if she have exercised hospitality, if she have washed saints' feet, if she have imparted relief to the distressed, if she have diligently followed every good work.
11But younger widows decline; for when they grow wanton against Christ, they desire to marry,
11 Amma saatarey kaŋ kurnyey bu, ma s'i hantum, zama waati kaŋ i tun zalay se ka gaaba nda Almasihu, i ga ba ngey ma hiiji,
12being guilty, because they have cast off their first faith.
12 ka kande ciiti ngey boŋ za kaŋ i wangu ngey sintina cimbeero.
13And, at the same time, they learn also [to be] idle, going about to people's houses; and not only idle, but also gossipers and meddlers, speaking things not becoming.
13 I ga hawfunay dondon mo dira-ka-kayyaŋ ra. Amma manti hawfuna hinne bo, amma i ga ciya mimandakomyaŋ da kormotanteyaŋ kaŋ ga ci haŋ kaŋ si hima nda ciyaŋ.
14I will therefore that the younger marry, bear children, rule the house, give no occasion to the adversary in respect of reproach.
15For already some have turned aside after Satan.
15 Zama za sohõ afooyaŋ kamba ka Saytan gana.
16If any believing man or woman have widows, let them impart relief to them, and let not the assembly be charged, that it may impart relief to those [that are] widows indeed.
16 Amma wayboro cimandiko kulu, d'a gonda goboroyaŋ, kal a m'i gaakasinay.
17Let the elders who take the lead [among the saints] well be esteemed worthy of double honour, specially those labouring in word and teaching;
17 Arkusey kaŋ go ga Almasihu marga dabari hal a ma boori, i m'i lasaabu kaŋ i to i m'i beerandi sorro hinka, sanku fa ngey kaŋ yaŋ goono ga goy _Irikoy Sanno|_ waazo d'a dondonandiyaŋo ra.
18for the scripture says, Thou shalt not muzzle an ox that treadeth out corn, and, The workman [is] worthy of his hire.
18 Zama Irikoy Tira Hanna ne: «Yeeji kaŋ go ga kara, ni ma si takunkum daŋ a gaa.» A ne mo: «Goy-teeri to a ma du nga banando.»
19Against an elder receive not an accusation unless where there are two or three witnesses.
19 Ma si kalima ta kaŋ i te arkusu boŋ da manti seeda hinka wala ihinza me ra no.
20Those that sin convict before all, that the rest also may have fear.
20 Ngey kaŋ yaŋ goono ga zunubi te, ma deeni i gaa marga kulu jine, hala cindey ma du ka humburu.
21I testify before God and Christ Jesus and the elect angels, that thou keep these things without prejudice, doing nothing by favour.
21 Ay go ga ni lordi Irikoy, da Almasihu Yesu, da malayka* suubanantey jine: ma hayey din gaay manti nda baar'a-baar'a teeyaŋ.
22Lay hands quickly on no man, nor partake in others' sins. Keep thyself pure.
23Drink no longer only water, but use a little wine on account of thy stomach and thy frequent illnesses.
24Of some men the sins are manifest beforehand, going before to judgment, and some also they follow after.
24 Boro fooyaŋ zunubey, taray kwaaray no i go, za i man'i ciiti. Afooyaŋ mo, i ga kokor ka bay i gaa.
25In like manner good works also are manifest beforehand, and those that are otherwise cannot be hid.
25 Yaadin mo no goy hanney go taray kwaaray. Wo kaŋ yaŋ manti yaadin mo si tugu.
