Jeremiah

8

1At that time, saith Jehovah, they shall bring forth the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of his princes, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves;
1 Yaa no Rabbi ci: alwaati woodin ra, i ga Yahuda bonkooney, d'i mayraykoyey, da alfagey, da annabey, da Urusalima ra gorokoy biriyey sambu k'i kaa ngey saarayey ra.
2and they shall spread them out to the sun and to the moon and to all the host of the heavens, which they have loved, and which they have served, and after which they have walked, and which they have sought, and which they have worshipped: they shall not be gathered, nor be buried; they shall be for dung upon the face of the ground.
2 I g'i daaru wayna, da handu kwaaray, da beene kundey kulu gaa, kaŋ yaŋ se i na baakasinay cabe, i may i se, i n'i gana, i n'i ceeci, i sududu i se mo. I si biriyey din margu-margu, i s'i fiji mo koyne. I ga ciya birji laabo boŋ.
3And death shall be chosen rather than life by all the residue that remain of this evil family, in all the places whither I have driven those that remain, saith Jehovah of hosts.
3 Borey kaŋ yaŋ ga cindi, dumi laalo wo waney, sanda ngey kaŋ yaŋ ga cindi nangu kulu ra kaŋ ay n'i gaaray ka kond'ey, i ga buuyaŋ suuban ka fay da fundi. Yaadin no Rabbi Kundeykoyo ci.
4And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith Jehovah: Do [men] fall, and not rise up? Doth one turn away, and not return?
4 Ni ma ne i se koyne, yaa no Rabbi ci: D'i kaŋ, i si ye ka tun koyne no? Wala i ga banda bare ka jaŋ ka ye ka kaa no?
5Why hath this people of Jerusalem slidden back with a perpetual backsliding? They hold fast deceit, they refuse to return.
5 Ifo se no Urusalima borey wo na banda bare, Banda bareyaŋ kaŋ ga duumi no? I goono ga halliyaŋ di ka gaay. I wangu ye ka kaa yaŋ.
6I hearkened and heard: they speak not what is right; there is no man who repenteth him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? Every one turneth to his course, like a horse rushing into the battle.
6 Ay na hanga jeeri ka hangan, Amma i mana salaŋ da haŋ kaŋ ga saba. Boro si no kaŋ goono ga tuubi nda nga zunubo ka ne: «Ifo no ay te?» Kala day boro kulu goono ga nga koyyaŋ te no, Sanda bari kaŋ te garbat ga koy wongu do.
7Even a stork in the heavens knoweth her appointed times, and the turtle-dove and the swallow and the crane observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of Jehovah.
7 Oho, baa waaliya kaŋ go beene ga nga alwaatey bay. Koloŋayey da kumbu-hangey, da kaagey ga laakal nda ngey kaayaŋo alwaato. Amma ay borey si Rabbi farilla bay.
8How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of Jehovah is with us? Behold, certainly the lying pen of the scribes hath made it falsehood.
8 Mate no araŋ goono ga ne: «Iri ya laakalkooniyaŋ no. Rabbi asariya mo go iri banda?» Amma, wa te laakal, hantumkoy tangari kalamo na tangari hantum.
9The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: behold, they have rejected Jehovah's word; and what wisdom is in them?
9 Laakalkooney haaw, i humburu, i n'i di mo. A go, i wangu Rabbi sanno. Laakal woofo dumi no i se binde?
10Therefore will I give their wives unto others, their fields to those that shall possess [them]; for every one, from the least even unto the greatest, is given to covetousness; from the prophet even unto the priest, every one dealeth falsely.
10 Woodin sabbay se ay g'i wandey no boro fooyaŋ se, I farey mo borey kaŋ g'i ŋwa yaŋ din se. Zama boro fo kulu, ikayna gaa, ibeeri gaa, I kulu na ngey boŋ nooyandi riiba biniyay se. Afo kulu goono ga tangari goy te, Za annabey gaa kal a ma koy alfagey gaa.
11And they have healed the breach of the daughter of my people lightly, saying, Peace, peace! when there is no peace.
11 I n'ay jama ize wayo dooro yayandi beene-beene. I goono ga ne: «Baani samay! Baani samay!» -- Amma baani kulu si no.
12Are they ashamed that they have committed abomination? Nay, they are not at all ashamed, and they know not how to blush. Therefore shall they fall among them that fall: in the time of their visitation they shall stumble, saith Jehovah.
12 I haaw no waato kaŋ i na fanta hari goyey te? Abada, i mana haaw baa kayna. I moydumey mo mana baa alhaali barme. Woodin sabbay se binde borey kaŋ yaŋ ga kati ka kaŋ ra no ngey mo ga kaŋ. I ciiti zaaro ra ay g'i zeeri ganda. Yaadin no Rabbi ci.
13I will utterly take them away, saith Jehovah: there are no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the fig-tree; and the leaf is faded: and I will give them up to those that shall pass over them.
13 Ay g'i hamay ka kaa parkatak! Yaadin no Rabbi ci. I si reyzin* ize gar a tiksa gaa, Wala jeejay ize a nyaŋo gaa. Kobtey mo ga suugu. Haŋ kaŋ ay n'i no mo ga daray i se.
14Why do we sit still? Assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the fenced cities, and let us be silent there: for Jehovah our God hath put us to silence, and given us water of gall to drink, because we have sinned against Jehovah.
14 Ifo se no iri goono ga goro hinne? Wa margu, iri ma furo gallu cinari-beeri-koyey ra, Iri ma bu i ra, Zama Rabbi iri Irikoyo n'iri halaciyaŋo waadu. A n'iri no damari hari iri ma haŋ, Zama iri na zunubi te Rabbi se.
15Peace is looked for, and there is no good; a time of healing, and behold, terror.
15 Iri na laakal kanay ceeci, Amma gomni kulu si no kaŋ kaa. Iri na fundi baani jirbiyaŋ ceeci, Amma kala humburkumay kaŋ kaa.
16The snorting of his horses is heard from Dan: the whole land trembleth at the sound of the neighing of his steeds, and they come, and devour the land, and all it contains, the city and those that dwell therein.
16 Za Dan ra no i ga maa ibare bariyey niine karyaŋey. A cey kosongo maayanta laabo kulu ga jijiri. Zama i ga kaa ka laabo da hay kulu kaŋ go laabo ra, Da gallo da nga ra gorokoy kulu ŋwa.
17For behold, I send among you serpents, vipers against which there is no charm, and they shall bite you, saith Jehovah.
17 Zama a go, ay ga gondiyaŋ da firsayaŋ samba araŋ game ra kaŋ yaŋ gardey si hin ey, I g'araŋ nama mo. Yaadin no Rabbi ci.
18My comfort in my sadness! my heart is faint in me!
18 Ay bine sara sinda safari! Ay bina dooru.
19Behold the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people, from a very far country: Is not Jehovah in Zion? Is not her king in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their graven images, with foreign vanities?
19 Ma maa ay jama ize wayo hẽeni jinda, A go ga fun laabu kaŋ ga mooru gumo ra ka ne: «Rabbi si no Sihiyona ra no, wala? A bonkoono si no a ra no?» To! Ifo se no i n'ay yanje ceeci nda ngey himandi jabontey, da mebarawey toorey mo?
20The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.
20 Heemar waate bisa, i na fari wiyaŋ ban, Iri mana du faaba mo.
21-- For the breach of the daughter of my people am I crushed; I go mourning; astonishment hath taken hold of me.
21 Ay maa doori ay jama ize wayo dooro se gumo. Ay go ga bu baray te. Boŋ haway n'ay di.
22Is there no balm in Gilead? is there no physician there? Why then is there no dressing applied for the healing of the daughter of my people?
22 Ji si no Jileyad ra no? Yayandiko mo si no noodin no? Day, ifo se no ay jama ize wayo mana ye ka te baani?
