Darby's Translation

Zarma

Jeremiah

9

1Oh that my head were waters, and mine eye a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!
1 Da day ay boŋo ya hari no! Doŋ ay moy ma mundi dooru danga hari-mo cine! Zama ay ma hẽ cin da zaari ay jama ize wayo buukoy se.
2Oh that I had in the wilderness a traveller's lodging-place, that I might leave my people, and go away from them! For they are all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.
2 Doŋ day ay ma bara nda naarukoy zumbuyaŋ nangu saajo ra. Zama ya fay d'ay borey k'i naŋ. Zama i kulu zina-teeriyaŋ no, amaana ŋwaari jama no.
3And they bend their tongue, their bow of falsehood, and not for fidelity are they valiant in the land; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith Jehovah.
3 I ga ngey deeney siirandi sanda biraw cine, Zama ngey ma tangari taŋ. I ga ngey boŋ gaabandi laabo ra, amma manti cimi se. Zama laala ka koy laala no i goono ga koy jina nd'a. I s'ay bay mo. Yaadin no Rabbi ci.
4Take ye heed every one of his friend, and confide not in any brother; for every brother only supplanteth, and every friend goeth about with slander.
4 Boro fo kulu ma te laakal da nga gorokasin, A ma si naanay nga nya-ize kulu gaa, Zama nya-ize kulu ga tubu kom no, Gorokasin fo kulu mo ga konda-yanda te.
5And they act deceitfully every one with his neighbour, and speak not the truth: they teach their tongue to speak falsehood, they weary themselves with perverse dealing.
5 I ra boro fo kulu ga nga gorokasin fafagu, I si cimi ci mo. I na ngey deeney dondonandi i ma tangari te. I na ngey boŋ fargandi laala teeyaŋ ra.
6Thy habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith Jehovah.
6 Ni nangora go diibi-diiba game ra. I diibi-diiba sabbay se no i wangu ka yadda ngey m'ay bay. Yaadin no Rabbi ci.
7Therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Behold, I will melt them, and try them; for how else could I do for the daughter of my people?
7 Woodin sabbay se, yaa no Rabbi Kundeykoyo ci: A go, ay g'i mannandi k'i si ka di. Da manti yaadin no, Mate no ay ga te ay jama ize wayo se?
8Their tongue is a murderous arrow; it speaketh deceit. [A man] speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in his heart he layeth his ambush.
8 I deeney ya hangawyaŋ no kaŋ ga kande buuyaŋ, I goono ga hiila sanni ci. Boro ga baani sanni te nga gorokasin se da nga meyo, Amma a bina ra a goono ga gumandi.
9Shall I not visit them for these [things]? saith Jehovah; shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
9 Ay s'i gooji hayey din sabbay se no? Ay fundo si bana dumo din cine gaa no, wala? Yaadin no Rabbi ci.
10For the mountains will I take up weeping and wailing, and for the pastures of the wilderness, a lamentation; for they are burnt up, so that none passeth through them; and the voice of the cattle is not heard. Both the fowl of the heavens and the beasts are fled; they are gone.
10 Ay ga hẽeni nda wurru yaŋ te tondi kuukey se, Ay ma bu baray te saajo do haray kurey nangey se, Zama koogandi n'i halaci hala boro kaŋ ga furo ka bisa si no, Boro si maa haw hẽeni mo noodin. Za beene curey ka koy ganji hamey, I kulu zuru ka daray.
11And I will make Jerusalem heaps, a dwelling-place of jackals; and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without inhabitant.
11 Ay ga Urusalima mo ciya laabu gusam yaŋ, da zoŋey nangoray. Ay ma Yahuda galley ciya kurmu yaŋ, Boro kulu si no i ra da goray.
12Who is a wise man, that he may understand this? and he to whom the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken, that he may declare it? Why is the land perished, burnt up like a wilderness, so that none passeth through?
12 May no ga ti laakalkoono kaŋ ga faham da woodin? Man gaa bora kaŋ se Rabbi bumbo salaŋ? Kal a ma fahamandi haŋ kaŋ se no laabo halaci ka ton sanda saaji, hala boro kulu si bisa a ra.
13And Jehovah saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not hearkened unto my voice, nor walked in it,
13 Kala Rabbi ne: To. Zama i n'ay asariya kaŋ ay daŋ i jine din furu, i mana ay sanno gana mo, i mana dira a ra mo,
14but have walked after the stubbornness of their own heart, and after the Baals, as their fathers taught them;
14 amma i bine sanda boŋ no i na Baaley gana, kaŋ yaŋ i kaayey n'i dondonandi nd'a.
15therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, Behold, I will feed this people with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink,
15 Woodin sabbay se no Rabbi Kundeykoyo, Israyla Irikoyo ne: A go, ay ga borey wo kuru nda kobto fotto, ay m'i no tay hari i ma haŋ mo.
16and will scatter them among the nations, whom neither they nor their fathers have known; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them.
16 Ay g'i say-say mo dumi cindey kaŋ yaŋ i kaayey mana bay din game ra, ngey bumbey mo s'i bay. Ay ga takuba mo samba a m'i banda gana hal ay m'i ŋwa ka ban.
17Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Consider, and call for the mourning women, that they may come, and send for the skilful women, that they may come;
17 Yaa no Rabbi Kundeykoyo ci: Wa lasaabu, wa wayborey kaŋ yaŋ ga bu baray te ce, I ma kaa. Wa donton ka wayboro goney ce.
18and let them make haste, and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids pour forth waters.
18 I ma waasu ka kaa ka hẽ iri se hal iri moy ma mundi dooru, Iri mo-kuurey ma hari bambari.
19For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, How are we spoiled, sorely put to shame! For we have forsaken the land, for they have cast down our dwellings.
19 Zama i maa hẽeni jinde Sihiyona ra kaŋ ne: «Kaari iri, zama i n'iri ku! Iri haaw gumo, zama iri go ga laabo naŋ. Zama ibarey n'iri nangorayey zeeri.»
20Hear then the word of Jehovah, ye women, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth, and teach your daughters wailing, and each one her companion lamentation.
20 Amma ya araŋ wayborey, wa maa Rabbi sanno, Araŋ hangey mo m'a me sanney ta. W'araŋ ize wayey dondonandi hẽeni, I afo kulu ma nga gorokasin dondonandi bu baray.
21For death is come up through our windows, is entered into our palaces, to cut off the children from the street, the young men from the broadways.
21 Zama buuyaŋ kaaru ka furo iri finetarey gaa, A furo iri faadey ra, Zama nga ma zankey kulu tuusu ka kaa fondey ra, Arwasey mo ma ban kwaara batamey ra.
22Speak, Thus saith Jehovah: Yea, the carcases of men shall fall as dung upon the open field, and as the handful after the reaper, and there shall be none to gather.
22 Ma salaŋ ka ne: Yaa no Rabbi ci: Boro buukoy ga kaŋ sanda birji kaŋ go fari batamey ra cine, Wala sanda koobu cine waati kaŋ wiiko bisa, Margu-marguko mo si no.
23Thus saith Jehovah: Let not the wise glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty glory in his might; let not the rich glory in his riches:
23 Yaa no Rabbi ci: Laakalkooni ma si fooma nda nga laakalo, Hinkoy ma si fooma nda nga hino, Arzakante mo ma si fooma nda nga arzaka.
24but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I [am] Jehovah, who exercise loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth; for in these things I delight, saith Jehovah.
24 Amma boro kaŋ goono ga fooma ma fooma nda woone: Kaŋ a gonda fahamay, a g'ay bay mo, Ay no Rabbi kaŋ ga baakasinay suuji nda cimi ciiti nda adilitaray te ndunnya ra. Zama hayey din ra no ay ga maa kaani. Yaadin no Rabbi ci.
25Behold, days are coming, saith Jehovah, when I will visit all [them that are] circumcised with the uncircumcised;
25 Yaa no Rabbi ci: A go, jirbiyaŋ goono ga kaa, kaŋ ay ga dambangukoyey kulu gooji i dambanguyaŋ-jaŋay sabbay se:
26Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that have the corners [of their beard] cut off, that dwell in the wilderness: for all the nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in heart.
26 Misira, da Yahuda, da Edom, da Amon izey, da Mowab da borey kulu kaŋ yaŋ ga ngey kaabe casey cabu ka windi, saaji ra borey, zama ndunnya dumey kulu sinda dambanguyaŋ. Israyla dumo kulu mo sinda dambanguyaŋ ngey biney ra.
