10

1Hear the word that Jehovah speaketh unto you, house of Israel.
2Thus saith Jehovah: Learn not the way of the nations, and be not dismayed at the signs of the heavens; for the nations are dismayed at them.
2 Yaa no Rabbi ci: Wa si dumi cindey fondey dondon, Araŋ ma si humburu beene alaamey mo, Baa kaŋ dumi cindey ga humbur'ey.
3For the statutes of the peoples are vanity; for [it is] a tree cut out of the forest, worked with a chisel by the hands of the artizan;
3 Zama ndunnya dumey alaadey ya yaamo wane yaŋ no. Zama boro fo ga tuuri beeri saajo tuuri zugu beerey ra, Woodin deesikoy kambe goy no.
4they deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
5They are as a palm-column of turned work, and they speak not; they are carried, for they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
6There is none like unto thee, Jehovah; thou art great, and thy name is great in might.
7Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? For to thee doth it appertain; for among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like unto thee.
7 Ya ndunnya dumey Bonkoono, may no si humburu nin? Zama borey ma humburu nin wo wazibi no, Za kaŋ ndunnya dumey laakalkooney kulu ra, D'i koytarayey kulu ra, Boro kaŋ ga hima nin si no.
8But they are one and all senseless and foolish; the teaching of vanities is a stock.
8 Amma i kulu sinda laakal, saamoyaŋ no. Haŋ kaŋ i dondon ya yaamo no, i tooro ya tuuri day no!
9Silver spread into plates is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the artizan and of the hands of the founder; blue and purple is their clothing: they are all the work of skilful [men].
9 Nzarfu kaŋ i dan ka te kobto tafayyaŋ, I ga fun d'ey Tarsis. I ga kande wura mo ka fun d'a Ofir. Gonitaray goyyaŋ no, wura zam kambe goy. Suudi nda suniya no ga ti i bankaarayey. I kulu gonitaray kambe goyyaŋ no.
10But Jehovah Elohim is truth; he is the living God, and the King of eternity. At his wrath the earth trembleth, and the nations cannot abide his indignation.
10 Amma Rabbi no ga ti Irikoy cimi-cimo. Irikoy fundikooni no, nga wo Koy no kaŋ go no duumi. A futa sabbay se ndunnya ga jijiri, Ndunnya dumey si hin ka munye d'a dukuro.
11Thus shall ye say unto them: The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, these shall perish from the earth, and from under the heavens.
11 Mate kaŋ araŋ ga ci i se neeya: «De-koyey kaŋ mana beeney da ganda taka, woodin yaŋ ga halaci ka ban ndunnya ra da beena cire mo.»
12He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his understanding.
12 Rabbi na ndunnya te da nga hino, A laakalo do no a na ndunnya sinji, A fahamay do mo no a na beeney daaru.
13When he uttereth his voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the end of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasuries.
13 D'a na jinde sambu, Kala hariyaŋ kosongu go beene. A ga naŋ buuda ma fun ndunnya me ka ziji beene. A ga kande beene mali da hari care banda. A ga haw kaa taray nga jisiri nango ra.
14Every man is become brutish, bereft of knowledge; every founder is put to shame by the graven image, for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.
14 Boro kulu ga hima sanda alman cine bayray-jaŋay sabbay se. Wura zam fo kulu, haawi n'a di nga himandi jabonta sabbay se, Zama a sooguyaŋ himando wo yaamo no, Funsari si no a ra.
15They are vanity, a work of delusion: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.
15 Yaamoyaŋ no, fafagay goyyaŋ no, I alhakko hane i ga halaci.
16The portion of Jacob is not like them; for it is he that hath formed all [things], and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: Jehovah of hosts is his name.
16 Amma Yakuba baa, manti yaadin cine no a bara. Zama nga wo ga ti hay kulu Teeko, Israyla mo, a wane kunda no. Rabbi Kundeykoyo no ga ti a maa.
17Gather up thy baggage out of the land, O inhabitress of the fortress.
17 Ya nin kaŋ i windi nda wongu, Ma gungum ka ni jinayyaŋ sambu!
18For thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will this time sling out the inhabitants of the land, and will distress them, that they may be found.
18 Zama yaa no Rabbi ci: Sohõ ay ga laabo gorokoy sambu k'i catu taray, Ay m'i taabandi, hal i ma maa korni.
19Woe is me, for my wound! My stroke is hard to heal, and I had said, Yea, this is [my] grief, and I will bear it.
Amma ay ne: «Bone no kay bo, Tilas ay ma hin a suuru.
20My tent is despoiled, and all my cords are broken; my children are gone forth from me, and they are not; there is none to stretch forth my tent any more, and to set up my curtains.
20 Ay kuuru-fuwo halaci, ay korfey kulu pati, Ay izey fatta ay do, i si no koyne. Boro si no kaŋ ga ye k'ay kuuru-fuwo sinji koyne, A m'a daabuley sarku.»
21For the shepherds are become brutish, and have not sought Jehovah; therefore have they not acted wisely, and all their flock is scattered.
21 Zama kurukoy kulu ciya saamoyaŋ, I mana Rabbi ceeci mo. Woodin se no i si te albarka, I alman kuro kulu say-say mo.
22The voice of a rumour! Behold, it cometh, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah a desolation, a dwelling-place of jackals.
22 Wa maa baaru, a goono ga kaa! Kosongu bambata goono ga fun azawa kambe laabu kaŋ ga Yahuda galley ciya kurmuyaŋ, zoŋey nangoray.
23I know, Jehovah, that the way of man is not his own; it is not in a man that walketh to direct his steps.
23 Ya Rabbi, ay ga tabbatandi kaŋ boro fondo, Manti a kambe ra no a go. Boro kaŋ ga dira sinda hina mo a ma nga ce me-daarey soola.
24Jehovah, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.
25Pour out thy fury upon the nations that know thee not, and upon the families that call not on thy name; for they have eaten up Jacob, yea, they have eaten him up and consumed him, and have laid waste his dwelling-place.
Zama i na Yakuba ŋwa parkatak, Oho, i n'a ŋwa, i n'a ban, I n'a nangora halaci.
