1And Zophar the Naamathite answered and said,
1 Kala Zofar Naama bora mo tu ka ne:
2Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man of much talk be justified?
2 «Sanni boobo wo cine, i si tu i se da hay kulu bo? Boro kaŋ sanni ga baa ga jaŋ taali, wala?
3Should thy fictions make men hold their peace? and shouldest thou mock, and no one make [thee] ashamed?
3 Ni boŋ sifayaŋo ga naŋ borey ma dangay, wala? Boro kulu si ni haawandi ni hahaaray sanney wo se?
4For thou sayest, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes.
4 Zama ni go ga ne Irikoy se: ‹Haya kaŋ ay ga ci din ya cimi no, Ni diyaŋ gaa mo ay ga hanan.›
5But oh that +God would speak, and open his lips against thee;
5 Doŋ day Irikoy ma salaŋ, A ma nga meyo fiti ka gaaba nda nin.
6And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, how that they are the double of what is realised; and know that +God passeth by [much] of thine iniquity!
6 A ma laakal gundu cabe ni se, Zama laakal hanno wo, dumi-dumi no. Ma bay fa, kaŋ Irikoy ga dinya ni goy laalo jara gaa.
7Canst thou by searching find out +God? canst thou find out the Almighty to perfection?
7 Ni ga hin ka fintal hala ni ma Irikoy muraadu guusey fisi ka kaa taray no? Wala ni ga hin ka Hina-Kulu-Koyo fintal ka ban no?
8[It is as] the heights of heaven; what wilt thou do? deeper than Sheol; what canst thou know?
8 Zama beene mooray cine no, mate no ni ga te? A guusu nda Alaahara mo, ifo no ni ga bay?
9The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.
9 A kuuyaŋo bisa ndunnya, A bisa teeko tafayyaŋo mo.
10If he pass by, and shut up, and call to judgment, who can hinder him?
10 D'a gana ka bisa, d'a daabu, D'a na borey margu ciiti do, May no ga hin k'a ganji?
11For he knoweth vain men, and seeth wickedness when [man] doth not consider it;
11 Zama a ga bay kaŋ borey ya yaamo no. A ga di goy laalo, baa a mana laakal ye a gaa.
12Yet a senseless man will make bold, though man be born [like] the foal of a wild ass.
12 Amma saamo ga caram han kaŋ hane i na ganji farkayze hay Adam-ize gaa.
13If thou prepare thy heart and stretch out thy hands toward him,
13 Da ni miila ni bina ma saba, Ka ni kambe salle Irikoy gaa,
14If thou put far away the iniquity which is in thy hand, and let not wrong dwell in thy tents;
14 Da zunubi go ni do, Ni m'a hibandi ka ye nangu mooro. Ni ma si naŋ mo adilitaray-jaŋay ma goro ni windo ra.
15Surely then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot, and thou shalt be stedfast and shalt not fear:
15 Saaya din daahir no ni ga ni moyduma tunandi Irikoy gaa laru si. Oho, ni ga kay a ma boori, humburkumay si ni di,
16For thou shalt forget misery; as waters that are passed away shalt thou remember it;
16 Zama ni ga dinya ni masiiba. Sanda beene hirriyaŋ kaŋ bisa, Yaadin cine no ni ga fongu a gaa.
17And life shall arise brighter than noonday; though thou be enshrouded in darkness, thou shalt be as the morning,
17 Ni fundo mo ga kaari hal a ma bisa sanda wayno go zaari bindi cine. Baa kubay go no, kal a ma hima mo boyaŋ wane cine.
18And thou shalt have confidence, because there shall be hope; and having searched about [thee], thou shalt take rest in safety.
18 Baani samay no ni ga goro, zama ni gonda beeje. Oho, ni ga guna-guna nangey kulu, ka kani baani samay.
19Yea, thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; and many shall seek thy favour.
19 Ni ga kani nooya, kaŋ boro kulu si ni humburandi, Oho, hala boro boobo ga ni gomni ŋwaaray.
20But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and [all] refuge shall vanish from them, and their hope [shall be] the breathing out of life.
20 Amma boro laaley moy ga gaze, I si du zuru-ka-yana yaŋ fondo mo. I jina fonnayyaŋ kaŋ ga cindi i se, Kala buuyaŋ hinne no.»
