1And the whole multitude of them, rising up, led him to Pilate.
1 Kala i jama kulu tun ka kond'a Bilatos* jine.
2And they began to accuse him, saying, We have found this [man] perverting our nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying that he himself is Christ, a king.
2 I sintin k'a kalima ka ne: «Iri na boro wo gar a goono g'iri borey darandi. A ga wangu i ma jangal bana Kaysar* se, ga ne nga ya Almasihu no, bonkooni fo.»
3And Pilate demanded of him saying, Art *thou* the king of the Jews? And he answering him said, Thou sayest.
3 Bilatos n'a hã ka ne: «Ni ya Yahudancey bonkoono no?» A tu a se ka ne: «Mate kaŋ ni ci no.»
4And Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, I find no guilt in this man.
5But they insisted, saying, He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judaea, beginning from Galilee even on to here.
6But Pilate, having heard Galilee [named], demanded if the man were a Galilaean;
6 Kaŋ Bilatos maa woodin, a hã hala bora din ya Galili boro no.
7and having learned that he was of Herod's jurisdiction, remitted him to Herod, who himself also was at Jerusalem in those days.
7 Kaŋ a bay Hirodus* koytara ra no a goro, kal a na Yesu samba Hirodus do, kaŋ nga mo go Urusalima jirbey din ra.
8And when Herod saw Jesus he greatly rejoiced, for he had been a long while desirous of seeing him, because of hearing many things concerning him, and he hoped to see some sign done by him;

9and he questioned him in many words, but *he* answered him nothing.

10And the chief priests and the scribes stood and accused him violently.
10 Alfaga beerey da asariya dondonandikoy mo kay k'a kalima nda futay gumo.
11And Herod with his troops having set him at nought and mocked him, having put a splendid robe upon him, sent him back to Pilate.
I na bankaaray kaŋ ga nyaale daŋ a gaa ka ye k'a samba Bilatos do.
12And Pilate and Herod became friends with one another the same day, for they had been at enmity before between themselves.

13And Pilate, having called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people,

14said to them, Ye have brought to me this man as turning away the people [to rebellion], and behold, I, having examined him before you, have found nothing criminal in this man as to the things of which ye accuse him;
Guna mo, araŋ jine ay n'a hã ka gosi. Ay mana di taali hari kulu bora din gaa, hayey din ra kaŋ yaŋ araŋ goono g'a kalima nd'a.

16Having chastised him therefore, I will release him.
16 Ay binde g'a barzu k'a taŋ.»
17( Now he was obliged to release one for them at the feast.)
17 Zama tilas no a ma kas'ize fo taŋ i se bato*g* waate.
18But they cried out in a mass saying, Away with this [man] and release Barabbas to us;
19who was one who, for a certain tumult which had taken place in the city, and [for] murder, had been cast into prison.
20Pilate therefore, desirous to release Jesus, again addressed [them].
20 Za kaŋ a ga ba nga ma Yesu taŋ, Bilatos ye ka salaŋ i se.
21But they cried out in reply saying, Crucify, crucify him.
21 Amma i soobay ka kuuwa ka ne: «A kanji*! A kanji!»
22And he said the third time to them, What evil then has this [man] done? I have found no cause of death in him: I will chastise him therefore and release him.
Hari laalo woofo no a te? Ay mana di buuyaŋ fondo a gaa. Ay g'a barzu k'a taŋ.»
23But they were urgent with loud voices, begging that he might be crucified. And their voices [and those of the chief priests] prevailed.
23 Amma i di ka kaati nda jinde beeri yaŋ, i goono g'a ŋwaaray da gaabi i m'a kanji. Hala i jindey du hini.
24And Pilate adjudged that what they begged should take place.
25And he released him who, for tumult and murder, had been cast into prison, whom they begged for, and Jesus he delivered up to their will.
25 Bora kaŋ i daŋ kaso ra murteyaŋ da boro-wiyaŋ se, kaŋ borey ŋwaaray, a n'a taŋ, amma a na Yesu no i miila boŋ.
26And as they led him away, they laid hold on a certain Simon, a Cyrenian, coming from the field, and put the cross upon him to bear it behind Jesus.
26 Alwaato kaŋ i goono ga kond'a, i na boro fo di kaŋ maa Siman, Kayrawa kwaara boro no, kaŋ goono ga fun saajo ra. I na kanjiyaŋ bundo dak'a boŋ, a m'a jare Yesu banda.
27And a great multitude of the people, and of women who wailed and lamented him, followed him.

28And Jesus turning round to them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep over me, but weep over yourselves and over your children;

32Now two others also, malefactors, were led with him to be put to death.
32 I na zambante hinka waani sambu mo, zama i m'i wi Yesu banda.
33And when they came to the place which is called Skull, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, the other on the left.

35And the people stood beholding, and the rulers also [with them] sneered, saying, He has saved others; let him save himself if this is the Christ, the chosen one of God.
35 Borey goono ga kay k'a fonnay. Da woone ya Irikoy wane Almasihu no, a suubananta mo, a ma nga boŋ faaba me.»

38And there was also an inscription [written] over him in Greek, and Roman, and Hebrew letters: This is the King of the Jews.
38 Hantum fo go a boŋo se beene kaŋ ne: BORO WOONE YA YAHUDANCEY BONKOONO NO.
39Now one of the malefactors who had been hanged spoke insultingly to him, saying, Art not thou the Christ? save thyself and us.

42And he said to Jesus, Remember me, [Lord,] when thou comest in thy kingdom.

43And Jesus said to him, Verily I say to thee, To-day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
