Luke

7

1And when he had completed all his words in the hearing of the people, he entered into Capernaum.
1 Waato kaŋ Yesu na nga sanney kulu ban borey hangey ra, a furo Kafarnahum kwaara ra.
2And a certain centurion's bondman who was dear to him was ill and about to die;
2 Kala sooje jine funa fo go no kaŋ a bannya jante hal a ga ba ka bu. A binde ga ba r'a gumo.
3and having heard of Jesus, he sent to him elders of the Jews, begging him that he might come and save his bondman.
3 Kaŋ a maa Yesu baaro, a na Yahudance arkusuyaŋ donton a do k'a ŋwaaray a ma kaa ka nga bannya no baani.
4But they, being come to Jesus, besought him diligently, saying, He is worthy to whom thou shouldest grant this,
4 Ngey mo, waato kaŋ i to Yesu do, i n'a ŋwaaray da himma ka ne: «Bora kaŋ se ni ga woodin te, a to r'a,
5for he loves our nation, and himself has built the synagogue for us.
5 zama a ga ba iri dumo, hal a na diina marga fuwo cina iri se.»
6And Jesus went with them. But already, when he was not far from the house, the centurion sent to him friends, saying to him, Lord, do not trouble thyself, for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof.
6 Kala Yesu koy i banda. Kaŋ a to nangu fo kaŋ mana mooru windo gaa, sooje jine funa din na nga coroyaŋ donton Yesu do kaŋ yaŋ ne a se: «Ay jina bora, ma si ni boŋ taabandi. Ay mana to ni ma furo ay nangora ra.
7Wherefore neither did I count myself worthy to come to thee. But say by a word and my servant shall be healed.
7 Woodin sabbay se ay man'ay boŋ lasaabu hal ay to ay ma kaa ni do. Day, ma salaŋ hinne, ay zanka mo ga du baani.
8For *I* also am a man placed under authority, having under myself soldiers, and I say to this [one], Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my bondman, Do this, and he does [it].
8 Zama ay mo, boro fo dabari ra no ay go, soojeyaŋ go ay bumbo dabaro ra mo. Ay ga ne woone se: ‹Koy!› -- kal a ma koy. Ay ga ne afa se: ‹Kaa!› -- kal a ma kaa. Ay ga ne ay bannya se: ‹Ma te woone!› -- kal a m'a te.»
9And Jesus hearing this wondered at him, and turning to the crowd following him said, I say to you, Not even in Israel have I found so great faith.
9 Waato kaŋ Yesu maa sanney wo, kal a dambara nda bora. A bare marga kaŋ goono g'a gana din gaa ka ne: «Ay ga ci araŋ se: ay mana di cimbeeri* gaabikooni sanda woone cine, baa Israyla ra.»
10And they who had been sent returning to the house found the bondman, who was ill, in good health.
10 Waato kaŋ borey kaŋ i donton ye fu, i kaa ka gar bannya wo go baani.
11And it came to pass afterwards he went into a city called Nain, and many of his disciples and a great crowd went with him.
11 Woodin banda, Yesu koy ka furo kwaara fo ra kaŋ se i ga ne Nayin. A talibey koy a banda, ngey nda borey marga bambata mo.
12And as he drew near to the gate of the city, behold, a dead man was carried out, the only son of his mother, and she a widow, and a very considerable crowd of the city [was] with her.
12 Waato kaŋ a maanu kwaara birno meyo gaa, guna i goono ga fatta nda buuko fo, kaŋ nga hinne no nyaŋo se, nyaŋo mo kurnyo bu no. Kwaara boro boobo goono g'a dum.
13And the Lord, seeing her, was moved with compassion for her, and said to her, Weep not;
13 Waato kaŋ Rabbi di waybora, kal a bakar a se ka ne a se: «Ma si hẽ koyne.»
14and coming up he touched the bier, and the bearers stopped. And he said, Youth, I say to thee, Wake up.
14 A kaa ka maan dima gaa k'a ham. Borey kaŋ yaŋ goono g'a jare kay. Gaa Yesu ne: «Arwaso, ay ga ne ni se: ma tun.»
15And the dead sat up and began to speak; and he gave him to his mother.
15 Buukwa mo tun ka goro, a sintin ka salaŋ. Yesu n'a no nyaŋo se.
16And fear seized on all, and they glorified God, saying, A great prophet has been raised up amongst us; and God has visited his people.
16 Humburkumay na borey marga kulu di. I na darza no Irikoy se ka ne: «Annabi bambata fo tun iri game ra!» I ne mo: «Irikoy kaa ka nga borey kunfa!»
17And this report went out in all Judaea concerning him, and in all the surrounding country.
17 Baaro din koy Yahudiya laabo kulu ra, da laabu windanta mo.
18And the disciples of John brought him word concerning all these things:
18 Yohanna talibey n'a no hayey din baaru. Kala Yohanna na nga talibi hinka fo ce nga do,
19and John, having called two of his disciples, sent to Jesus, saying, Art *thou* he that is coming, or are we to wait for another?
19 k'i donton i ma koy Rabbi do ka ne: «Nin no ga ti boro kaŋ ga kaa din, wala iri ma afo batu?»
20But the men having come to him said, John the baptist has sent us to thee, saying, Art *thou* he that is coming, or are we to wait for another?
20 Waato kaŋ i to Yesu do, alborey ne: «Yohanna baptisma teekwa no k'iri donton ni do ka ne: ‹Hala nin no ga ti boro kaŋ ga kaa din, wala iri ma afo batu?› »
21In that hour he healed many of diseases and plagues and evil spirits, and to many blind he granted sight.
21 Saaya din ra Yesu na boro boobo no baani janteyaŋ, da zaŋayyaŋ, da follayyaŋ gaa. Danaw boobo mo, a n'i no diyaŋ.
22And Jesus answering said to them, Go, bring back word to John of what ye have seen and heard: that blind see, lame walk, lepers are cleansed, deaf hear, dead are raised, poor are evangelized;
22 Gaa no Yesu tu ka ne i se: «Araŋ ma konda baaro Yohanna do, hayey kaŋ araŋ di da hayey kaŋ araŋ maa mo: danawyaŋ goono ga di, simbarkoyaŋ goono ga kay ka dira, jiraykooniyaŋ goono ga hanan, lutuyaŋ goono ga maa, buukoyaŋ goono ga tun, i goono ga Baaru Hanna waazu talkey se mo.
23and blessed is whosoever shall not be offended in me.
23 Albarkante no boro kulu kaŋ mana di darayyaŋ hari ay do.»
24And the messengers of John having departed, he began to speak to the crowds concerning John: What went ye out into the wilderness to behold? a reed shaken by the wind?
24 Yohanna diyey goono ga dira, kala Yesu sintin ka salaŋ borey marga se Yohanna boŋ ka ne: «Ifo no araŋ koy ka guna ganjo ra? Kwaari kaŋ haw ga zinji no?
25But what went ye out to see? a man clothed in delicate garments? Behold, those who are in splendid clothing and live luxuriously are in the courts of kings.
25 Wala ifo no araŋ koy ka guna? Boro no kaŋ ga bankaaray baano daŋ? Guna, borey kaŋ yaŋ gonda bankaaray caadanteyaŋ, kaŋ yaŋ ga te watay goray, i go koyey windey ra.
26But what went ye out to see? a prophet? Yea, I say to you, and [what is] more excellent than a prophet.
26 Amma ifo no araŋ fatta ka koy ka di? Annabi no? Oho, ay ga ne araŋ se, boro kaŋ ga bisa annabi no gumo!
27This is he concerning whom it is written, Behold, *I* send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee;
27 Nga no ga ti boro kaŋ i hantum a boŋ ka ne: ‹Guna, ay g'ay diya donton ni jine, kaŋ ga ni fonda soola ni jine.›
28for I say unto you, Among them that are born of women a greater [prophet] is no one than John [the baptist]; but he who is a little one in the kingdom of God is greater than he.
28 Ay ga ne araŋ se: boro kulu si no kaŋ wayboro hay kaŋ ga bisa Yohanna beeray. Amma kulu nda yaadin, boro kaŋ kayna da ikulu Irikoy koytara ra ga bisa Yohanna beeray.»
29(And all the people who heard [it], and the tax-gatherers, justified God, having been baptised with the baptism of John;
29 Borey kulu kaŋ yaŋ maa mo, ngey nda jangal taakoy, i na Irikoy adilitara seeda, zama i na Yohanna baptisma ta.
30but the Pharisees and the lawyers rendered null as to themselves the counsel of God, not having been baptised by him.)
30 Amma Farisi fonda borey da asariya dondonandikoy na Irikoy saawara furu ngey boŋ se, zama i man'a baptisma ta.
31To whom therefore shall I liken the men of this generation, and to whom are they like?
31 Kala Yesu tonton ka ne: «Ifo no ay ga zamana wo borey himandi nd'a, wala i go danga ifo cine no?
32They are like children sitting in the market-place, and calling one to another and saying, We have piped to you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.
32 To, i si hima kala zankayaŋ kaŋ goono ga goro habu batama ra ka care ce ka ne: ‹Iri na seese kar araŋ se, amma araŋ mana gaan. Iri na bu baray te amma araŋ mana hẽ.›
33For John the baptist has come neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and ye say, He has a demon.
33 Zama Yohanna baptisma teekwa kaa, a siino ga buuru ŋwa, a siino ga duvan haŋ. Kal araŋ ga ne: ‹A gonda follay.›
34The Son of man has come eating and drinking, and ye say, Behold an eater and wine-drinker, a friend of tax-gatherers and sinners;
34 Boro Izo mo kaa, a ga ŋwa, a ga haŋ. Kal araŋ ga ne: ‹Wa guna ŋwaari boobo ŋwaako da baji hanko no, jangal taakoy da zunubikooney coro mo no.›
35and wisdom has been justified of all her children.
35 Day, da boro lasaabuyaŋo ga saba, kulu ni te-goy mo ga saba!»
36But one of the Pharisees begged him that he would eat with him. And entering into the house of the Pharisee he took his place at table;
36 Kala Farisi fonda boro fo na Yesu ce a ma kaa ka hawru nga banda. A furo mo Farisi fonda bora fuwo ra ka goro ŋwaayaŋ nango do.
37and behold, a woman in the city, who was a sinner, and knew that he was sitting at meat in the house of the Pharisee, having taken an alabaster box of myrrh,
37 Kwaara wayboro fo go no kaŋ zunubikooni no. Waato kaŋ a maa Yesu go Farisi fonda bora fuwo ra ga goro, a kande albasta* kolba fo kaŋ gonda waddi a ra.
38and standing at his feet behind [him] weeping, began to wash his feet with tears; and she wiped them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed [them] with the myrrh.
38 A kay banda, Yesu cey do haray, ka soobay ka hẽ. Kaŋ hẽeno ra a mundey na Yesu cey tayandi, kal a n'i tuusu nda nga boŋ hamney. A soobay k'a cey sunsum ka waddo soogu i boŋ.
39And the Pharisee who had invited him, seeing it, spoke with himself saying, This [person] if he were a prophet would have known who and what the woman is who touches him, for she is a sinner.
39 Amma waato kaŋ Farisi fonda bora kaŋ na Yesu ce din di woodin, a salaŋ nga bina ra ka ne: «Da boro wo ya annabi no, doŋ a ga bay wayboro kaŋ no, da boro kaŋ cine no go ga lamb'a gaa, zama nga wo ga ti zunubikooni.»
40And Jesus answering said to him, Simon, I have somewhat to say to thee. And he says, Teacher, say [it].
40 Yesu tu ka ne a se: «Siman, ay gonda hay fo kaŋ ay ga ci ni se.» Nga mo ne: «Alfa, soobay ka salaŋ.»
41There were two debtors of a certain creditor: one owed five hundred denarii and the other fifty;
41 «To. Boro fo kaŋ ga garaw no gonda garawkooni hinka. Afo gonda garaw kaŋ ga bisa jiiri fo da jare banandi a boŋ, afa mo wo kaŋ ga bisa handu fo da jare wane.
42but as they had nothing to pay, he forgave both of them [their debt]: [say,] which of them therefore will love him most?
42 Kaŋ i sinda hay kulu kaŋ ga bana, kal a na ikulu yaafa. To. Boro woofo no i game ra ga ba r'a ka bisa afo?»
43And Simon answering said, I suppose he to whom he forgave the most. And he said to him, Thou hast rightly judged.
43 Siman tu ka ne: «Ay ga tammahã bora kaŋ se i na ibooba yaafa.» Yesu ne a se: «Ni lasaabo ga saba.»
44And turning to the woman he said to Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thy house; thou gavest me not water on my feet, but *she* has washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with her hair.
44 Waato din gaa a bare waybora do haray ka ne Siman se: «Ni go ga di wayboro wo, wala? Ay furo ni fuwo ra, ni man'ay no hari kaŋ g'ay cey nyun. Amma wayboro wo, a n'ay cey tayandi nda nga mundey k'i tuusu nda nga boŋ hamney.
45Thou gavest me not a kiss, but *she* from the time I came in has not ceased kissing my feet.
45 Ni man'ay sunsum, amma wayboro wo, za waati kaŋ ay furo, a mana fay d'ay cey sunsumyaŋ.
46My head with oil thou didst not anoint, but *she* has anointed my feet with myrrh.
46 Ni mana ji soogu ay boŋo boŋ, amma wayboro wo, a na waddi soogu ay cey boŋ.
47For which cause I say to thee, Her many sins are forgiven; for she loved much; but he to whom little is forgiven loves little.
47 Woodin sabbay se ay ga ci ni se, i n'a yaafa nda nga zunubi booba, zama a na baakasinay cabe gumo. Amma bora kaŋ se i na yaafa kayna te, a gonda baakasinay kayna.»
48And he said to her, Thy sins are forgiven.
48 Kala Yesu ne waybora se: «Ay na ni zunubey yaafa ni se.»
49And they that were with [them] at table began to say within themselves, Who is this who forgives also sins?
49 Borey kaŋ yaŋ goono ga goro a banda sintin ka ne ngey nda care se: «May ga ti nga, kaŋ a ga baa zunubiyaŋ yaafa?»
50And he said to the woman, Thy faith has saved thee; go in peace.
50 Amma Yesu ne waybora se: «Ni cimbeero* na ni faaba. Ni ma koy da laakal kanay.»
