1Then Jesus was carried up into the wilderness by the Spirit to be tempted of the devil:
1 Alwaato din binde kala Biya konda Yesu ganjo ra zama Iblisi ma du k'a si.
2and having fasted forty days and forty nights, afterwards he hungered.
2 Waato kaŋ a mehaw* zaari waytaaci da cin waytaaci, gaa no a maa haray.
3And the tempter coming up to him said, If thou be Son of God, speak, that these stones may become loaves of bread.
3 Siikwa kaa a do mo ka ne a se: «Da ni ya Irikoy Izo no, ma ci tondey wo se i ma bare ka te buuru.»
4But he answering said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word which goes out through God's mouth.
4 Amma Yesu tu ka ne: «I n'a hantum ka ne: ‹Manti ŋwaari hinne no boro ga funa nd'a bo, amma da sanni kulu kaŋ ga fun Irikoy meyo ra.› »
5Then the devil takes him to the holy city, and sets him upon the edge of the temple,
5 Alwaato din gaa no Iblisi* kond'a hala birni* hananta ra, k'a kayandi Irikoy* windo gar'izo boŋ beene.
6and says to him, If thou be Son of God cast thyself down; for it is written, He shall give charge to his angels concerning thee, and on [their] hands shall they bear thee, lest in anywise thou strike thy foot against a stone.
6 A ne a se mo: «Da ni ya Irikoy Izo no, ma ni boŋ taŋ ganda, zama i n'a hantum ka ne: ‹A ga lordi no nga malaykey se ni boŋ, i ga ni tambe ngey kambey ra mo, zama ni ma si ni ce nuku tondi gaa.› »
7Jesus said to him, It is again written, Thou shalt not tempt [the] Lord thy God.
7 Yesu ne a se: «I n'a hantum koyne ka ne: ‹Ni ma si Rabbi ni Irikoyo si.› »
8Again the devil takes him to a very high mountain, and shews him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory,
8 Iblisi ye ka kond'a tondi kuuku fo boŋ koyne, ka ndunnya kulu koytarayey da ngey darza cab'a se.
9and says to him, All these things will I give thee if, falling down, thou wilt do me homage.
9 A ne Yesu se: «Woone yaŋ kulu ay g'i no ni se, da ni ga ye ganda ka sududu ay se.»
10Then says Jesus to him, Get thee away, Satan, for it is written, Thou shalt do homage to [the] Lord thy God, and him alone shalt thou serve.
10 Alwaato din gaa no Yesu tu ka ne a se: «Koy, gana ay se, ya Saytan*! Zama i n'a hantum ka ne: ‹Ma sududu Rabbi ni Irikoyo se, nga hinne se mo no ni ga may.› »
11Then the devil leaves him, and behold, angels came and ministered to him.
11 Kala Iblisi fay d'a. Guna mo, malaykey kaa ka Yesu saajaw.
12But having heard that John was delivered up, he departed into Galilee:
12 Waato kaŋ Yesu maa i na Yohanna daŋ kasu, nga mo kamba ka koy Galili.
13and having left Nazareth, he went and dwelt at Capernaum, which is on the sea-side in the borders of Zabulon and Nepthalim,
13 Kaŋ a fay da Nazara, a kaa ka goro Kafarnahum, kaŋ go teeko me gaa, Zabluna da Naftali laabu me ra,
14that that might be fulfilled which was spoken through Esaias the prophet, saying,
14 zama haŋ kaŋ annabi Isaya ci ma to kaŋ ne:
15Land of Zabulon and land of Nepthalim, way of [the] sea beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations:
15 «Zabluna laabu nda Naftali laabu, Teeko fonda gaa, Urdun daŋanta, Galili, dumi cindey wano:
16-- the people sitting in darkness has seen a great light, and to those sitting in [the] country and shadow of death, to them has light sprung up.
16 Borey kaŋ yaŋ goono ga goro kubay ra di kaari bambata! Borey kaŋ yaŋ go buuyaŋ biya laabo ra da goray, i boŋ no kaari bangay.»
17From that time began Jesus to preach and to say, Repent, for the kingdom of the heavens has drawn nigh.
17 Za waato din no Yesu sintin ka waazu ka ne: «Araŋ ma tuubi, zama beene koytara maan.»
18And walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishers;
18 Kaŋ Yesu goono ga windi noodin Galili teeko me gaa, kal a di nya ize hinka, Siman kaŋ se i ga ne Bitros, da Andarawos, kaŋ ga ti a kayne. I goono ga taaru catu teeko ra, zama sorkoyaŋ no.
19and he says to them, Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.
19 Yesu ne i se: «W'ay gana, ay mo g'araŋ ciya borey sorkoyaŋ.»
20And they, having left their trawl-nets, immediately followed him.
20 Sahãadin-sahãadin i na taarey naŋ ka Yesu gana.
21And going on thence he saw other two brothers, James the [son] of Zebedee and John his brother, in the ship with Zebedee their father, mending their trawl-nets, and he called them;
21 A to ka bisa noodin mo, kal a di nya ize hinka koyne, Yakuba Zabadi izo, da nga kayno Yohanna. I go hi ra ngey baabo Zabadi banda ka ngey taarey hanse. Yesu n'i ce.
22and they, having left the ship and their father, immediately followed him.
22 Sahãadin-sahãadin i na hiyo da ngey baabo naŋ, k'a gana.
23And [Jesus] went round the whole [of] Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the glad tidings of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every bodily weakness among the people.
23 Yesu goono ga windi Galili ra. A goono ga dondonandi i diina marga* fuwey ra. A goono ga koytaray Baaru Hanna waazu, ka doorikom dumi kulu da jantekom kulu no baani borey game ra.
24And his fame went out into the whole [of] Syria, and they brought to him all that were ill, suffering under various diseases and pains, and those possessed by demons, and lunatics, and paralytics; and he healed them.
24 A baaro koy Suriya laabo kulu ra. I kand'a se doorikomey kulu, da borey kaŋ yaŋ goono ga taabi da doora-doora waani-waani da gurzugay, da follay* tamey da follokomey, da yeenikooney. A n'i kulu no baani.
25And great crowds followed him from Galilee, and Decapolis, and Jerusalem, and Judaea, and beyond the Jordan.
25 Borey marga bambata n'a gana za Galili da Dikabolis da Urusalima da Yahudiya da Urdun daŋanta mo.
