Nahum

2

1He that dasheth in pieces is come up against thy face: keep the fortress, watch the way, make [thy] loins strong, fortify [thy] power mightily.
1 Guna, tondi kuukey boŋ baaru hanno kandekwa cey neeya, Kaŋ goono ga laakal kanay fe! Ya nin Yahuda, ma haggoy da ni batey. Ma ni sartey toonandi, Zama boro laalo si ye ka gana ni do koyne, A ga ban no parkatak!
2For Jehovah hath brought again the glory of Jacob, as the glory of Israel; for the wasters have wasted them, and marred their vine-branches.
2 _Ya Ninawiya|_, halacikwa tun ni se! Ma haggoy da wongu fu, ma fonda batandi, Ma haw daŋ ni boŋ ra, Ma ni hino gaabandi gumo nda cimi.
3The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots [glitter] with the sheen of steel, in the day of his preparation, and the spears are brandished.
3 Zama Rabbi ga ye ka kande Yakuba darza, Danga Israyla* _waato|_ darza cine, Baa kaŋ wongu-ŋwakoy n'i kaa koonu, I n'i reyzin* tiksey kambey halaci mo.
4The chariots rush madly in the streets, they justle one against another in the broad ways: the appearance of them is like torches, they run like lightnings.
4 A wongaarey korayey ciya icirayyaŋ, I gonda bankaaray moni ngey gaa. Wongu torkey go ga nyaale nda guuru-kwaaray ngey soolayaŋ zaaro ra. Wongaarey go ga sipres* bundu yaaji zinji gumo.
5He bethinketh him of his nobles: they stumble in their march; they make haste to the wall thereof, and the shelter is prepared.
5 Wongu torkey goono ga follo fondey ra, I goono ga zuru ka windi batama tafey ra. I diyaŋ ga hima sanda yulbeyaŋ, I ga zuru sanda maliyaŋ mo.
6The gates of the rivers are opened, and the palace melteth away.
6 A ga nga wongaari beerey ce, I goono ga kati ngey dirawey ra, I goono ga cahã ka koy a cinaro gaa haray, I na kosaray mo soola.
7And it is decreed: she shall be uncovered, she shall be led away, and her maids shall moan as with the voice of doves, drumming upon their breasts.
7 Isa meyey fiti, faada mo manne.
8Nineveh hath been like a pool of water, since the day she existed, yet they flee away. ... Stand! Stand! But none looketh back.
8 Haya wo kaŋ sinji waato, sohõ i n'a kaa koonu, I n'a ku ka dira nd'a. A koŋŋey go ga hẽ sanda koloŋayyaŋ, I goono ga ngey gandey di _bine saray sabbay se.|_
9Plunder the silver, plunder the gold; for there is no end of the splendid store of all precious vessels.
9 Waato Ninawiya ga hima sanda bangu cine, Amma sohõ i goono ga zuru. I goono ga ne: «Wa kay! Wa kay!» Amma boro kulu si no kaŋ ga zagu ka guna.
10She is empty, and void, and waste; and the heart melteth, and the knees smite together, and writhing pain is in all loins, and all their faces grow pale.
10 Wa nzarfu ku! Wa wura ku! Zama jinay jisantey kaŋ gonda nooru boobo sinda me.
11Where is [now] the den of the lions, and the feeding-place of the young lions, where the lion, the lioness, [and] the lion's whelp walked, and none made them afraid?
11 A go koonu no, hay kulu si, kurmu mo no! Bine kulu goono ga jaŋ gaabi, Kangey goono ga kar care gaa. Foyra go borey kulu gaahamey ra, I kulu yaley bare.
12The lion tore in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens with ravin.
12 Man muusu beerey tondi guuso, Muus'izey kuray do, Nango kaŋ muusu aro da nga wayo ga bar-bare, Da muus'izey mo? Boro kulu si no mo kaŋ g'i humburandi.
13Behold, I am against thee, saith Jehovah of hosts: and I will burn her chariots into smoke; and the sword shall devour thy young lions, and I will cut off thy prey from the earth; and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.
