1When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language,
1 Waato kaŋ Israyla fun Misira laabo ra, Yakuba dumo fun mebarawey ra,
2Judah was his sanctuary, Israel his dominion.
2 Yahuda ciya Rabbi se nangoray hanante, Israyla ciya a mayray hari.
3The sea saw it and fled, the Jordan turned back;
3 Teeko n'a guna ka zuru, Urdun* mo bare ka ye banda,
4The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs.
4 Tondi kuukey soobay ka sar sanda feeji gaaruyaŋ cine, Tudu izey mo sanda feeji izeyaŋ cine.
5What ailed thee, thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou turnedst back?
5 Ya teeko, ifo ka du nin kaŋ se ni zuru? Da ni mo, ya Urdun, kaŋ ni ye da banda?
6Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams? ye hills, like lambs?
6 Araŋ mo, ya tondi kuukey, Kaŋ araŋ go ga sar sanda feeji gaaruyaŋ cine? Araŋ mo, ya tudu izey, sanda feeji izeyaŋ cine?
7Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the +God of Jacob,
7 Ya nin ndunnya, ma jijiri Irikoy jine, Ma jijiri Yakuba Irikoyo jine,
8Who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
8 Nga kaŋ na tondi daari bare ka ciya bangu hari, Captu tondi mo ciya hari zuru.
