Psalms

4

1{To the chief Musician. On stringed instruments. A Psalm of David.} When I call, answer me, O God of my righteousness: in pressure thou hast enlarged me; be gracious unto me, and hear my prayer.
1 Doonkoy jine bora se. I m'a doon da moolo beeri karyaŋ. Dawda wane no.
2Ye sons of men, till when is my glory [to be put] to shame? [How long] will ye love vanity, will ye seek after a lie? Selah.
2 Ya ay Irikoyo, ay adilitara, Ma tu ay se waati kaŋ ay ga ni ce, Zama waato kaŋ ay go kankami ra ni na dogonay te ay se. M'ay suuji, ma maa ay adduwa se.
3But know that Jehovah hath set apart the pious [man] for himself: Jehovah will hear when I call unto him.
3 Ya araŋ Adam-izey, waati fo no i g'ay darza bare ka ciya kayna yaŋo wo naŋ? Araŋ ga ba yaamo, araŋ ga tangari ceeci, Waati fo no araŋ g'i naŋ? (Wa dangay)
4Be moved with anger, and sin not; meditate in your own hearts upon your bed, and be still. Selah.
4 Amma araŋ ma bay kaŋ Rabbi na nga se mayko fay waani nga boŋ se. Rabbi ga maa waati kaŋ ay g'a ce.
5Offer sacrifices of righteousness, and confide in Jehovah.
5 Wa humburu, araŋ ma si zunubi te mo. Wa saaware da araŋ biney araŋ daarijey boŋ, ka dangay. (Wa dangay)
6Many say, Who shall cause us to see good? Lift up upon us the light of thy countenance, O Jehovah.
6 Wa adilitaray sargayyaŋ no, Wa de Rabbi gaa mo.
7Thou hast put joy in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their new wine was in abundance.
7 Boro boobo go ga ne: «May no ga booriyaŋ cabe iri se?» Ya Rabbi, ma ni moyduma annura bare iri do haray.
8In peace will I both lay me down and sleep; for thou, Jehovah, alone makest me to dwell in safety.
8 Ni na farhã daŋ ay bina ra kaŋ ga bisa i waney waati kaŋ cine i ntaaso d'i reyzin* harey ga baa gumo.
9 Ay ga kani ka jirbi nda laakal kanay, Zama nin, ya Rabbi, ni hinne no g'ay gorandi fitina si yaŋ ra.
