56

1{To the chief Musician. On Jonathelem-rechokim. Of David. Michtam; when the Philistines took him in Gath.} Be gracious unto me, O God; for man would swallow me up: all the day long fighting he oppresseth me.
1 Doonkoy jine bora se. I m'a doon da subo kaŋ ga ne: «Yongo tuuri-nyaŋey ra koloŋa». Dawda baytu no kaŋ a te waato kaŋ Filistancey n'a di Gat kwaara ra.
2Mine enemies would swallow [me] up all the day long; for they are many that fight against me haughtily.
2 Ya Irikoy, ma gomni te ay se, Zama boro ga ba nga m'ay ŋwa. Zaari me-a-me a goono g'ay taabandi, a go g'ay yanje.
3In the day that I am afraid, I will confide in thee.
3 Ay ibarey ga ba ngey m'ay ŋwa zaari me-a-me, Zama borey kaŋ yaŋ goono ga boŋbeeray wongu te ay se ga baa.
4In God will I praise his word, in God I put my confidence: I will not fear; what can flesh do unto me?
4 D'ay ga humburu, kulu ay ga de ni gaa.
5All the day long they wrest my words; all their thoughts are against me for evil.
5 Irikoy gaa, nga kaŋ ay n'a sanno sifa, Irikoy gaa no ay de, ay si humburu. Ifo no Adam-ize ga te ay se?
6They gather themselves together, they hide themselves; they mark my steps, because they wait for my soul.
6 Zaari me-a-me i goono g'ay sanney siirandi. I fonguyaŋey kulu kaŋ i goono ga te ay boŋ ye laala do haray.
7Shall they escape by iniquity? In anger cast down the peoples, O God.
7 I go ga margu ka lamba, I go ga laakal da naŋ kaŋ ay ga taamu, I go g'ay fundo batandi.
8*Thou* countest my wanderings; put my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?
8 Mate no, laala ga naŋ i ma koma, wala? Ya Irikoy, ma borey din soote da futay!
9Then shall mine enemies return backward in the day when I call: this I know, for God is for me.
9 Ni n'ay bar-bareyaŋey lasaabu, Ni m'ay mundey daŋ ni kolba ra, Manti ni tira ra no i go?
10In God will I praise [his] word; in Jehovah will I praise [his] word.
10 Gaa no ay ibarey ga ye banda, zaari kaŋ ra ay ce. Woone ay n'a bay: Irikoy go ay do haray.
11In God have I put my confidence: I will not fear; what can man do unto me?
11 Irikoy ra no ay g'a sanno sifa, Rabbi ra no ay g'a sanno sifa.
12Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render thanks unto thee.
12 Irikoy gaa no ay de, humburkumay s'ay di. Man haŋ kaŋ Adam-ize ga te ay se?
13For thou hast delivered my soul from death; [wilt thou] not [keep] my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?
