Zechariah

7

1And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Darius, that the word of Jehovah came unto Zechariah on the fourth [day] of the ninth month, [even] in Chislev,
1 I go no, bonkoono Dariyus jiiri taacanta ra, Rabbi sanno kaa Zakariya do handu yagganta jirbi taaca, sanda Sislef hando ra nooya.
2when Bethel had sent Sherezer and Regem-melech, and his men, to supplicate Jehovah,
2 Betel borey binde jin ka Sarezar donton, nga nda Regam-Melek da ngey borey, zama i ma gomni ceeci Rabbi gaa.
3[and] to speak unto the priests that were in the house of Jehovah of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done now so many years?
4And the word of Jehovah of hosts came unto me, saying,
5Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and in the seventh [month], even those seventy years, did ye really fast unto me, [even] unto me?
6And when ye ate, and when ye drank, was it not you that were eating and drinking?
6 Waati kaŋ araŋ ga ŋwa, araŋ ga haŋ mo, manti araŋ boŋ se no araŋ goono ga ŋwa ka haŋ bo?
7Are not these the words that Jehovah cried by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and at peace, and her cities round about her, when the south and the lowland were inhabited?
7 Manti a ga hima araŋ ma maa Rabbi sanno kaŋ a te araŋ se za doŋ annabey do, waato kaŋ i goono ga goro Urusalima ra? Kwaara gonda arzaka mo waato din, d'a kawyey kaŋ yaŋ goono g'a windi. Negeb* da Safela* mo gonda boroyaŋ ga goro.
8And the word of Jehovah came unto Zechariah, saying,
8 Kala Rabbi sanno kaa Zakariya do ka ne:
9Thus speaketh Jehovah of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew loving-kindness and mercies one to another,
9 Yaa no Rabbi Kundeykoyo ci: Wa cimi ciiti sanney te, wa gomni nda bakaraw cabe, boro fo kulu nga nya-izo se.
10and oppress not the widow and the fatherless, the stranger and the afflicted; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.
11But they refused to hearken, and turned a rebellious shoulder, and made their ears heavy, that they should not hear.
11 Amma i wongu ka maa.
12And they made their heart [as] an adamant, that they should not hear the law, and the words that Jehovah of hosts sent by his Spirit by the hand of the former prophets: therefore was there great wrath from Jehovah of hosts.
12 Oho, i na ngey biney ciya sanda tondi daari zama ngey ma si maa asariya*, wala mo sanney kaŋ Rabbi na nga Biya donton d'ey annabey kaŋ yaŋ go no za doŋ meyey ra. Woodin sabbay se no futay korno da cimi kaa ka fun Rabbi Kundeykoyo do.
13And it came to pass, like as he called, and they would not hear, so they called, and I would not hear, saith Jehovah of hosts;
13 A ciya mo, sanda mate kaŋ cine a na ceyaŋo te, ngey mo mana yadda ka maa -- yaadin cine no ngey mo, i ce, ay mo ay mana yadda ka maa. Yaadin no Rabbi Kundeykoyo ci.
14and I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not, and the land was desolate after them, so that no one passed through nor returned; and they laid the pleasant land desolate.
14 Amma ay g'i say-say da alma haw ka kond'ey dumey kulu kaŋ i si bay yaŋ din ra. Yaadin gaa no laabo ga ciya koonu nd'a i banda, hala boro si no kaŋ ga gana a ra. Wo kaŋ ga ye ka kaa mo si no, zama i na laabo kaŋ borey ga yalla-yalla nd'a din ciya koonu.
