¹And he said to his disciples, It cannot be but that offences come, but woe [to him] by whom they come!

¹Kisha, Yesu akawaambia wanafunzi wake, "Haiwezekani kabisa kusitokee vikwazo vinavyosababisha dhambi; lakini ole wake mtu yule atakayevisababisha.

²It would be [more] profitable for him if a millstone were hanged about his neck and he cast into the sea, than that he should be a snare to one of these little ones.

²Ingekuwa afadhali kwake kufungiwa shingoni jiwe kubwa la kusagia na kutoswa baharini, kuliko kumkwaza mmoja wa wadogo hawa.

³Take heed to yourselves: if thy brother should sin, rebuke him; and if he should repent, forgive him.

³Jihadharini! Kama ndugu yako akikukosea, mwonye; akitubu, msamehe.

⁴And if he should sin against thee seven times in the day, and seven times should return to thee, saying, I repent, thou shalt forgive him.

⁴Na kama akikukosea mara saba kwa siku, na kila mara akarudi kwako akisema Nimetubu, lazima umsamehe."

⁵And the apostles said to the Lord, Give more faith to us.

⁵Mitume wakamwambia Bwana, "Utuongezee imani."

⁶But the Lord said, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard [seed], ye had said to this sycamine tree, Be thou rooted up, and be thou planted in the sea, and it would have obeyed you.

⁶Naye Bwana akajibu, "Kama imani yenu ingekuwa ndogo hata kama chembe ndogo ya haradali, mngeweza kuuambia mti huu wa mkuyu: Ng'oka ukajipandikize baharini, nao ungewatii.

⁷But which of you [is there] who, having a bondman ploughing or shepherding, when he comes in out of the field, will say, Come and lie down immediately to table?

⁷"Tuseme mmoja wenu ana mtumishi ambaye analima shambani au anachunga kondoo. Je, anaporudi kutoka shambani, atamwambia: Haraka, njoo ule chakula?

⁸But will he not say to him, Prepare what I shall sup on, and gird thyself and serve me that I may eat and drink; and after that *thou* shalt eat and drink?

⁸La! Atamwambia: Nitayarishie chakula, ujifunge tayari kunitumikia mpaka nitakapomaliza kula na kunywa, ndipo nawe ule na unywe.

⁹Is he thankful to the bondman because he has done what was ordered? I judge not.

⁹Je utamshukuru huyo mtumishi kwa sababu ametimiza aliyoamriwa?

¹⁰Thus *ye* also, when ye shall have done all things that have been ordered you, say, We are unprofitable bondmen; we have done what it was our duty to do.

¹⁰Hali kadhalika na ninyi mkisha fanya yote mliyoamriwa, semeni: Sisi ni watumishi tusio na faida, tumetimiza tu yale tuliyotakiwa kufanya."

¹¹And it came to pass as he was going up to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.

¹¹Yesu akiwa safarini kwenda Yerusalemu alipitia mipakani mwa Samaria na Galilaya.

¹²And as he entered into a certain village ten leprous men met him, who stood afar off.

¹²Alipokuwa anaingia katika kijiji kimoja, watu kumi wenye ukoma walikutana naye, wakasimama kwa mbali.

¹³And they lifted up [their] voice saying, Jesus, Master, have compassion on us.

¹³Wakapaza sauti wakisema, "Yesu Mwalimu, tuonee huruma!"

¹⁴And seeing [them] he said to them, Go, shew yourselves to the priests. And it came to pass as they were going they were cleansed.

¹⁴Alipowaona akawaambia, "Nendeni mkajionyeshe kwa makuhani." Basi, ikawa walipokuwa wanakwenda, wakatakasika.

¹⁵And one of them, seeing that he was cured, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice,

¹⁵Mmoja wao alipoona kwamba ameponywa alirudi akimtukuza Mungu kwa sauti kubwa.

¹⁶and fell on [his] face at his feet giving him thanks: and *he* was a Samaritan.

¹⁶Akajitupa chini mbele ya miguu ya Yesu huku akimshukuru. Huyo alikuwa Msamaria.

¹⁷And Jesus answering said, Were not the ten cleansed? but the nine, where [are they]?

¹⁷Hapo Yesu akasema, "Je, si watu kumi walitakaswa? Wale tisa wako wapi?

¹⁸There have not been found to return and give glory to God save this stranger.

¹⁸Hakupatikana mwingine aliyerudi kumtukuza Mungu ila tu huyu mgeni?"

¹⁹And he said to him, Rise up and go thy way: thy faith has made thee well.

¹⁹Halafu akamwambia huyo mtu, "Simama, uende zako; imani yako imekuponya."

²⁰And having been asked by the Pharisees, When is the kingdom of God coming? he answered them and said, The kingdom of God does not come with observation;

²⁰Wakati mmoja, Mafarisayo walimwuliza Yesu, "Ufalme wa Mungu utakuja lini?" Naye akawajibu, "Ufalme wa Mungu hauji kwa namna itakayoweza kuonekana.

²¹nor shall they say, Lo here, or, Lo there; for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you.

²¹Wala hakuna atakayeweza kusema, Uko hapa, au Uko pale. Kwa kweli Ufalme wa Mungu uko kati yenu."

²²And he said to the disciples, Days are coming, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and shall not see [it].

²²Halafu akawaambia wanafunzi wake, "Siku zinakuja ambapo mtatamani kuona mojawapo ya siku za Mwana wa Mtu, lakini hamtaiona.

²³And they will say to you, Lo here, or Lo there; go not, nor follow [them].

²³Na watu watawaambieni: Tazameni yuko hapa; ninyi msitoke wala msiwafuate.

²⁴For as the lightning shines which lightens from [one end] under heaven to [the other end] under heaven, thus shall the Son of man be in his day.

²⁴Kwa maana kama vile umeme unavyotokea ghafla na kuangaza anga upande mmoja hadi mwingine, ndivyo Mwana wa Mtu atakavyokuwa siku yake.

²⁵But first he must suffer many things and be rejected of this generation.

²⁵Lakini kabla ya hayo, itambidi ateseke sana na kukataliwa na kizazi hiki.

²⁶And as it took place in the days of Noe, thus also shall it be in the days of the Son of man:

²⁶Kama ilivyokuwa nyakati za Noa, ndivyo itakavyokuwa katika siku za Mwana wa Mtu.

²⁷they ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came and destroyed all [of them];

²⁷Watu waliendelea kula na kunywa, kuoa na kuolewa mpaka wakati ule Noa alipoingia katika safina. Gharika ikatokea na kuwaangamiza wote.

²⁸and in like manner as took place in the days of Lot: they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

²⁸Itakuwa kama ilivyotokea wakati wa Loti. Watu waliendelea kula na kunywa, kununua na kuuza, kupanda mbegu na kujenga.

²⁹but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom, it rained fire and sulphur from heaven, and destroyed all [of them]:

²⁹Lakini siku ile Loti alipoondoka Sodoma, moto na kiberiti vikanyesha kama mvua kutoka mbinguni na kuwaangamiza wote.

³⁰after this [manner] shall it be in the day that the Son of man is revealed.

³⁰Ndivyo itakavyokuwa siku ile Mwana wa Mtu atakapofunuliwa.

³¹In that day, he who shall be on the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not go down to take it away; and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.

³¹"Siku hiyo, yeyote atakayekuwa juu ya paa asishuke nyumbani kuchukua mali yake. Kadhalika, naye atakayekuwa shambani asirudi nyuma.

³²Remember the wife of Lot.

³²Kumbukeni yaliyompata mke wa Loti.

³³Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it, and whosoever shall lose it shall preserve it.

³³Yeyote anayetaka kuiokoa nafsi yake, ataipoteza; na yeyote anayeipoteza, ataiokoa.

³⁴I say to you, In that night there shall be two [men] upon one bed; one shall be seized and the other shall be let go.

³⁴Nawaambieni, siku ile usiku watu wawili watakuwa wanalala pamoja, mmoja atachukuliwa na yule mwingine ataachwa.

³⁵Two [women] shall be grinding together; the one shall be seized and the other shall be let go.

³⁵Wanawake wawili watakuwa wakisaga nafaka pamoja; mmoja atachukuliwa na mwingine ataachwa."

³⁶[Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be seized and the other let go.]

³⁶Watu wawili watakuwa shambani; mmoja atachukuliwa na mwingine ataachwa.

³⁷And answering they say to him, Where, Lord? And he said to them, Where the body [is], there the eagles will be gathered together.

³⁷Hapo wakamwuliza, "Ni wapi Bwana?" Naye akawaambia, "Ulipo mzoga, ndipo tai watakapokusanyikia."
