1In the seventh [month], on the one and twentieth [day] of the month, came the word of Jehovah by the prophet Haggai, saying,
1ณ วันที่ยี่สิบเอ็ด เดือนที่เจ็ด พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มาโดยทางฮักกัยผู้พยากรณ์ว่า
2Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people, saying,
2"จงกล่าวแก่เศรุบบาเบลบุตรชายเชอัลทิเอล ผู้ว่าราชการเมืองยูดาห์ และแก่โยชูวาบุตรชายเยโฮซาดัก มหาปุโรหิต และแก่ประชาชนที่เหลืออยู่เถิด ว่า
3Who is left among you that saw this house in its former glory? and how do ye see it now? Is it not as nothing in your eyes?
3ใครบ้างที่เหลืออยู่ท่ามกลางพวกท่านนี้ ที่เห็นพระนิเวศนี้ครั้งเมื่อมีสง่าราศีเดิมนั้น บัดนี้ท่านเหล่านั้นเห็นเป็นอย่างไร มองดูแล้วเปรียบกันไม่ได้เลยใช่ไหม
4But now be strong, Zerubbabel, saith Jehovah; and be strong, Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith Jehovah, and work: for I am with you, saith Jehovah of hosts.
4พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า โอ เศรุบบาเบลเอ๋ย แม้กระนั้นก็ดี จงกล้าหาญเถิด โอ โยชูวาบุตรชายเยโฮซาดัก มหาปุโรหิตเอ๋ย จงกล้าหาญเถิด ประชาชนทั้งสิ้นแห่งแผ่นดินเอ๋ย จงกล้าหาญเถิด พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้แหละ พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาตรัสว่า จงทำงานเถิด เพราะเราอยู่กับเจ้า
5The word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, and my Spirit, remain among you: fear ye not.
5ตามถ้อยคำซึ่งเราได้ทำเป็นพันธสัญญาไว้กับเจ้า เมื่อเจ้าทั้งหลายออกจากอียิปต์ วิญญาณของเราอยู่ท่ามกลางเจ้า อย่ากลัวเลย
6For thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry [land];
6เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาตรัสดังนี้ว่า อีกสักหน่อย เราจะเขย่าท้องฟ้าและโลก ทะเลและแผ่นดินแห้ง อีกครั้งหนึ่ง
7and I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come; and I will fill this house with glory, saith Jehovah of hosts.
7เราจะเขย่าประชาชาติทั้งสิ้น เพื่อความปรารถนาของประชาชาติทั้งสิ้นจะได้เข้ามา เราจะบรรจุนิเวศนี้ให้เต็มด้วยสง่าราศี พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาตรัสดังนี้แหละ
8The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith Jehovah of hosts.
8เงินเป็นของเรา และทองคำเป็นของเรา พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาตรัสดังนี้แหละ
9The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former, saith Jehovah of hosts; and in this place will I give peace, saith Jehovah of hosts.
9พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาตรัสว่า สง่าราศีของพระนิเวศครั้งหลังนี้จะยิ่งกว่าครั้งเดิมนั้น พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาตรัสว่า และเราจะให้เกิดความสมบูรณ์พูนสุขในสถานที่นี้"
10On the four and twentieth [day] of the ninth [month], in the second year of Darius, came the word of Jehovah by Haggai the prophet, saying,
10เมื่อวันที่ยี่สิบสี่ เดือนที่เก้า ในปีที่สองของรัชกาลดาริอัส พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มาโดยทางฮักกัยผู้พยากรณ์ว่า
11Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Ask now the priests [concerning] the law, saying,
11พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาตรัสดังนี้ว่า จงถามบรรดาปุโรหิตเกี่ยวกับราชบัญญัติเถิดว่า
12If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt do touch bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any food -- shall it become holy? And the priests answered and said, No.
12"ถ้าผู้ใดยกชายเสื้อคลุมทำพกห่อเนื้อบริสุทธิ์ไป หากว่าชายเสื้อตัวนั้นไปถูกขนมปังหรือแกง หรือน้ำองุ่น หรือน้ำมัน หรืออาหารใดๆ สิ่งนั้นจะพลอยบริสุทธิ์ไปด้วยหรือไม่" พวกปุโรหิตตอบว่า "ไม่บริสุทธิ์"
13And Haggai said, If one that is unclean by a dead body touch any of these, is it become unclean? And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean.
13แล้วฮักกัยจึงถามว่า "ถ้าคนหนึ่งคนใดที่มลทินเพราะไปถูกศพมา แล้วมาถูกสิ่งเหล่านี้เข้า สิ่งเหล่านี้จะมลทินไปด้วยหรือไม่" ปุโรหิตตอบว่า "สิ่งเหล่านี้จะมลทินไปด้วย"
14Then answered Haggai and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith Jehovah, and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean.
14ฮักกัยจึงตอบว่า "พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า ต่อหน้าเรา ชนชาตินี้เป็นอย่างนั้นและประชาชาตินี้ก็เป็นอย่างนั้น ผลงานทุกอย่างที่มือของเขากระทำเป็นอย่างนั้นด้วย และสิ่งใดๆที่เขาถวายบูชาที่นั่น ก็เป็นมลทิน
15And now, I pray you, consider from this day and onward, from before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of Jehovah,
15บัดนี้ จงพิจารณาเถิดว่า ตั้งแต่วันนี้เป็นต้นไปจะเกิดเหตุอะไรขึ้นบ้าง คือก่อนที่ศิลาก้อนหนึ่งจะวางซ้อนบนศิลาก้อนหนึ่งที่ในพระวิหารของพระเยโฮวาห์
16-- before those [days] were, when one came to a heap of twenty [measures], there were but ten; when one came to the vat to draw out fifty press-measures, there were but twenty.
16ก่อนสิ่งเหล่านี้เกิดขึ้น เมื่อผู้ใดมายังกองข้าวคิดว่าจะตวงได้ยี่สิบถัง ก็มีแต่สิบถัง เมื่อผู้หนึ่งมาถึงบ่อเก็บน้ำองุ่นเพื่อตักเอาห้าสิบถัง ก็มีแต่ยี่สิบถัง
17I smote you with blasting and with mildew and with hail in all the work of your hands; and ye [turned] not to me, saith Jehovah.
17พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า เราได้โจมตีเจ้าและผลงานทั้งสิ้นจากมือของเจ้าด้วยให้ข้าวม้าน และขึ้นรา และด้วยลูกเห็บ แต่เจ้าทั้งหลายก็ยังไม่หันมาหาเรา
18Consider, I pray you, from this day and onward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth [month], from the day that the foundation of Jehovah's temple was laid, consider [it].
18จงพิจารณาตั้งแต่วันนี้เป็นต้นไป คือวันที่ยี่สิบสี่ เดือนที่เก้า คือตั้งแต่วันที่วางรากฐานแห่งพระวิหารของพระเยโฮวาห์ จงพิจารณาดู
19Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, the vine, and the fig-tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive-tree have not brought forth: from this day will I bless [you].
19ยังมีข้าวตกค้างอยู่ในยุ้งบ้างหรือ เถาองุ่น ต้นมะเดื่อ และต้นทับทิมกับต้นมะกอกเทศยังไม่เกิดผลหรือ ตั้งแต่วันนี้เป็นต้นไป เราจะอำนวยพรแก่เจ้า"
20And the word of Jehovah came the second time unto Haggai on the four and twentieth [day] of the month, saying,
20พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มาถึงฮักกัยเป็นครั้งที่สองเมื่อวันที่ยี่สิบสี่ของเดือนนั้นว่า
21Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth;
21"จงพูดกับเศรุบบาเบลผู้ว่าราชการเมืองยูดาห์ว่า เราจะเขย่าท้องฟ้าและโลก
22and I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the nations; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride therein; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother.
22และเราจะคว่ำพระที่นั่งของบรรดาราชอาณาจักร เราจะทำลายเรี่ยวแรงของบรรดาราชอาณาจักรแห่งประชาชาติ และจะคว่ำรถรบกับผู้ขับขี่ ม้าและผู้ขับขี่จะต้องล้มลง คือทุกคนจะต้องล้มลงด้วยดาบแห่งพี่น้องของเขา
23In that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, will I take thee, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, my servant, saith Jehovah, and will make thee as a signet; for I have chosen thee, saith Jehovah of hosts.
23พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาตรัสว่า ในวันนั้นเราจะรับเจ้า โอ เศรุบบาเบล บุตรชายเชอัลทิเอล ผู้รับใช้ของเราเอ๋ย พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า เราจะกระทำเจ้าให้เป็นดังแหวนตรา เพราะเราได้เลือกสรรเจ้าแล้ว พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาตรัสดังนี้แหละ"
