¹And he entered again into Capernaum after [several] days, and it was reported that he was at [the] house;

¹ครั้นล่วงไปหลายวัน พระองค์ได้เสด็จไปในเมืองคาเปอรนาอุมอีก และคนทั้งหลายได้ยินว่า พระองค์ประทับที่บ้าน

²and straightway many were gathered together, so that there was no longer any room, not even at the door; and he spoke the word to them.

²และในเวลานั้นคนเป็นอันมากมาชุมนุมกันจนไม่มีที่จะรับ จะเข้าใกล้ประตูก็ไม่ได้ พระองค์จึงเทศนาพระคำนั้นให้เขาฟัง

³And there come to him [men] bringing a paralytic, borne by four;

³แล้วมีคนนำคนอัมพาตคนหนึ่งมาหาพระองค์ มีสี่คนหาม

⁴and, not being able to get near to him on account of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where he was, and having dug [it] up they let down the couch on which the paralytic lay.

⁴เมื่อเขาเข้าไปให้ถึงพระองค์ไม่ได้เพราะคนมาก เขาจึงรื้อดาดฟ้าหลังคาตรงที่พระองค์ประทับนั้น และเมื่อรื้อเป็นช่องแล้ว เขาก็หย่อนแคร่ที่คนอัมพาตนอนอยู่ลงมา

⁵But Jesus, seeing their faith, says to the paralytic, Child, thy sins are forgiven [thee].

⁵เมื่อพระเยซูทอดพระเนตรเห็นความเชื่อของเขาทั้งหลาย พระองค์จึงตรัสกับคนอัมพาตว่า "ลูกเอ๋ย บาปของเจ้าได้รับอภัยแล้ว"

⁶But certain of the scribes were there sitting, and reasoning in their hearts,

⁶แต่มีพวกธรรมาจารย์บางคนนั่งอยู่ที่นั่น และเขาคิดในใจว่า

⁷Why does this [man] thus speak? he blasphemes. Who is able to forgive sins except God alone?

⁷"ทำไมคนนี้พูดหมิ่นประมาทเช่นนั้น ใครจะยกความผิดบาปได้เว้นแต่พระเจ้าเท่านั้น"

⁸And straightway Jesus, knowing in his spirit that they are reasoning thus within themselves, said to them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?

⁸และในทันใดนั้นเมื่อพระเยซูทรงทราบในพระทัยว่าเขาคิดในใจอย่างนั้น พระองค์จึงตรัสแก่เขาว่า "เหตุไฉนท่านทั้งหลายจึงคิดในใจอย่างนี้เล่า

⁹Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, [Thy] sins are forgiven [thee]; or to say, Arise, and take up thy couch and walk?

⁹ที่จะว่ากับคนอัมพาตว่า `บาปของเจ้าได้รับอภัยแล้ว' หรือจะว่า `จงลุกขึ้นยกแคร่เดินไปเถิด' นั้น ข้างไหนจะง่ายกว่ากัน

¹⁰But that ye may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, he says to the paralytic,

¹⁰แต่เพื่อท่านทั้งหลายจะได้รู้ว่า บุตรมนุษย์มีสิทธิอำนาจในโลกที่จะโปรดยกความผิดบาปได้" (พระองค์จึงตรัสสั่งคนอัมพาตว่า)

¹¹To thee I say, Arise, take up thy couch and go to thine house.

¹¹"เราสั่งเจ้าว่า จงลุกขึ้นยกแคร่ไปบ้านของเจ้าเถิด"

¹²And he rose up straightway, and, having taken up his couch, went out before [them] all, so that all were amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it thus.

¹²ทันใดนั้นคนอัมพาตได้ลุกขึ้นแล้วก็ยกแคร่เดินออกไปต่อหน้าคนทั้งปวง คนทั้งปวงก็ประหลาดใจนัก จึงสรรเสริญพระเจ้าว่า "เราไม่เคยเห็นการเช่นนี้เลย"

¹³And he went out again by the sea, and all the crowd came to him, and he taught them.

¹³ฝ่ายพระองค์ได้เสด็จไปตามชายทะเลสาบอีก ประชาชนก็มาหาพระองค์ และพระองค์ได้ตรัสสั่งสอนเขา

¹⁴And passing by, he saw Levi the [son] of Alphaeus sitting at the tax-office, and says to him, Follow me. And he rose up and followed him.

¹⁴เมื่อพระองค์กำลังเสด็จไปนั้น พระองค์ก็ทอดพระเนตรเห็นเลวีบุตรชายอัลเฟอัสนั่งอยู่ที่ด่านภาษี จึงตรัสแก่เขาว่า "จงตามเรามาเถิด" เขาก็ลุกขึ้นตามพระองค์ไป

¹⁵And it came to pass as he lay at table in his house, that many tax-gatherers and sinners lay at table with Jesus and his disciples; for they were many, and they followed him.

¹⁵ต่อมาเมื่อพระเยซูเอนพระกายลงเสวยอยู่ในเรือนของเลวี มีพวกคนเก็บภาษีและคนบาปหลายคนเอนกายลงร่วมสำรับกับพระเยซูและพวกสาวกของพระองค์ เพราะมีคนติดตามพระองค์ไปมาก

¹⁶And the scribes and the Pharisees, seeing him eating with sinners and tax-gatherers, said to his disciples, Why [is it] that he eats and drinks with tax-gatherers and sinners?

¹⁶ฝ่ายพวกธรรมาจารย์และพวกฟาริสี เมื่อเห็นพระองค์ทรงเสวยพระกระยาหารกับพวกคนเก็บภาษีและคนบาป จึงถามสาวกของพระองค์ว่า "เหตุไฉนพระองค์จึงกินและดื่มด้วยกันกับพวกคนเก็บภาษีและคนบาปเล่า"

¹⁷And Jesus having heard [it] says to them, They that are strong have not need of a physician, but those who are ill. I have not come to call righteous [men], but sinners.

¹⁷ครั้นพระเยซูทรงทราบดังนั้น พระองค์จึงตรัสแก่เขาว่า "คนปกติไม่ต้องการหมอ แต่คนเจ็บต้องการหมอ เรามิได้มาเพื่อจะเรียกคนชอบธรรม แต่มาเรียกคนบาปให้กลับใจเสียใหม่"

¹⁸And the disciples of John and the Pharisees were fasting; and they come and say to him, Why do the disciples of John and [the disciples] of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not?

¹⁸มีพวกศิษย์ของยอห์นและของพวกฟาริสีกำลังถืออดอาหาร พวกเขาจึงมาทูลถามพระองค์ว่า "เหตุไฉนพวกสาวกของยอห์นและของพวกฟาริสีถืออดอาหาร แต่พวกสาวกของพระองค์ไม่ถือ"

¹⁹And Jesus said to them, Can the sons of the bride-chamber fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them they cannot fast.

¹⁹พระเยซูจึงตรัสแก่เขาว่า "ท่านจะให้สหายของเจ้าบ่าวถืออดอาหารเมื่อเจ้าบ่าวยังอยู่กับเขากระนั้นหรือ เจ้าบ่าวอยู่ด้วยนานเท่าใด สหายก็ถืออดอาหารไม่ได้นานเท่านั้น

²⁰But days will come when the bridegroom shall have been taken away from them, and then shall they fast in that day.

²⁰แต่วันนั้นจะมาถึงเมื่อเจ้าบ่าวจะต้องจากสหายไป ในวันนั้นสหายจะถืออดอาหาร

²¹No one sews a patch of new cloth on an old garment: otherwise its new filling-up takes from the old [stuff], and there is a worse rent.

²¹ไม่มีผู้ใดเอาท่อนผ้าทอใหม่มาปะเสื้อเก่า ถ้าทำอย่างนั้น ท่อนผ้าทอใหม่ที่ปะเข้านั้นเมื่อหดจะทำให้เสื้อเก่าขาดกว้างออกไปอีก

²²And no one puts new wine into old skins; otherwise the wine bursts the skins, and the wine is poured out, and the skins will be destroyed; but new wine is to be put into new skins.

²²และไม่มีผู้ใดเอาน้ำองุ่นใหม่มาใส่ไว้ในถุงหนังเก่า ถ้าทำอย่างนั้นน้ำองุ่นใหม่จะทำให้ถุงเก่านั้นขาดไป น้ำองุ่นนั้นจะไหลออก ถุงหนังก็จะเสียไป แต่น้ำองุ่นใหม่นั้นต้องใส่ไว้ในถุงหนังใหม่"

²³And it came to pass that he went on the sabbath through the cornfields; and his disciples began to walk on, plucking the ears.

²³ต่อมาในวันสะบาโตวันหนึ่งพระองค์กำลังเสด็จไปในนาข้าว และเมื่อพวกสาวกของพระองค์กำลังเดินไปก็เริ่มเด็ดรวงข้าวไป

²⁴And the Pharisees said to him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath what is not lawful?

²⁴ฝ่ายพวกฟาริสีจึงถามพระองค์ว่า "ดูเถิด ทำไมพวกเขาจึงทำการซึ่งพระราชบัญญัติห้ามไว้ในวันสะบาโต"

²⁵And *he* said to them, Have ye never read what David did when he had need and hungered, *he* and those with him,

²⁵พระองค์จึงตรัสกับเขาว่า "พวกท่านยังไม่ได้อ่านหรือซึ่งดาวิดได้กระทำเมื่อท่านขาดอาหารและอดอยาก ทั้งท่านและพรรคพวกด้วย

²⁶how he entered into the house of God, in [the section of] Abiathar [the] high priest, and ate the shew-bread, which it is not lawful unless for the priests to eat, and gave even to those that were with him?

²⁶คือคราวเมื่ออาบียาธาร์เป็นมหาปุโรหิต ท่านได้เข้าไปในพระนิเวศของพระเจ้า และรับประทานขนมปังหน้าพระพักตร์ ซึ่งพระราชบัญญัติห้ามไม่ให้ใครรับประทาน เว้นแต่พวกปุโรหิตเท่านั้น และยังซ้ำส่งให้คนที่มากับท่านรับประทานด้วย"

²⁷And he said to them, The sabbath was made on account of man, not man on account of the sabbath;

²⁷พระองค์จึงตรัสแก่เขาว่า "วันสะบาโตนั้นทรงตั้งไว้เพื่อมนุษย์ มิใช่ทรงสร้างมนุษย์ไว้สำหรับวันสะบาโต

²⁸so that the Son of man is lord of the sabbath also.

²⁸เหตุฉะนั้นบุตรมนุษย์เป็นเจ้าเป็นใหญ่เหนือวันสะบาโตด้วย"
