1And when he had come down from the mountain, great crowds followed him.
1เมื่อพระองค์เสด็จลงมาจากภูเขาแล้ว คนเป็นอันมากได้ติดตามพระองค์ไป
2And behold, a leper came up to [him] and did him homage, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou art able to cleanse me.
2ดูเถิด มีคนโรคเรื้อนมานมัสการพระองค์แล้วทูลว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า เพียงแต่พระองค์จะโปรด ก็จะทรงบันดาลให้ข้าพระองค์หายโรคได้"
3And he stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, I will; be cleansed. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
3พระเยซูทรงยื่นพระหัตถ์ถูกต้องเขา แล้วตรัสว่า "เราพอใจแล้ว จงหายเถิด" ในทันใดนั้นโรคเรื้อนของเขาก็หาย
4And Jesus says to him, See thou tell no man, but go, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift which Moses ordained, for a testimony to them.
4ฝ่ายพระเยซูตรัสสั่งเขาว่า "อย่าบอกเล่าให้ผู้ใดฟังเลย แต่จงไปสำแดงตัวแก่ปุโรหิต และถวายเครื่องถวายตามซึ่งโมเสสได้สั่งไว้ เพื่อเป็นหลักฐานต่อคนทั้งหลาย"
5And when he had entered into Capernaum, a centurion came to him, beseeching him,
5เมื่อพระเยซูเสด็จเข้าไปในเมืองคาเปอรนาอุม มีนายร้อยคนหนึ่งมาอ้อนวอนพระองค์
6and saying, Lord, my servant lies paralytic in the house, suffering grievously.
6ว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า ผู้รับใช้ของข้าพระองค์เป็นอัมพาตอยู่ที่บ้าน ทนทุกข์เวทนามาก"
7And Jesus says to him, *I* will come and heal him.
7พระเยซูจึงตรัสกับเขาว่า "เราจะไปรักษาเขาให้หาย"
8And the centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not fit that thou shouldest enter under my roof; but only speak a word, and my servant shall be healed.
8นายร้อยผู้นั้นทูลว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า ข้าพระองค์ไม่สมควรที่จะรับเสด็จพระองค์เข้าใต้ชายคาของข้าพระองค์ ขอพระองค์ตรัสเท่านั้น ผู้รับใช้ของข้าพระองค์ก็จะหายโรค
9For *I* also am a man under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say to this [one], Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my bondman, Do this, and he does it.
9เพราะเหตุว่าข้าพระองค์เป็นคนอยู่ใต้วินัยทหาร แต่ก็ยังมีทหารอยู่ใต้บังคับบัญชาข้าพระองค์ ข้าพระองค์จะบอกแก่คนนี้ว่า `ไป' เขาก็ไป บอกแก่คนนั้นว่า `มา' เขาก็มา บอกผู้รับใช้ของข้าพระองค์ว่า `จงทำสิ่งนี้' เขาก็ทำ"
10And when Jesus heard it, he wondered, and said to those who followed, Verily I say unto you, Not even in Israel have I found so great faith.
10ครั้นพระเยซูทรงได้ยินดังนั้นก็ประหลาดพระทัยนัก ตรัสกับบรรดาคนที่ตามพระองค์ว่า "เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า เราไม่เคยพบความเชื่อที่ไหนมากเท่านี้แม้ในอิสราเอล
11But I say unto you, that many shall come from [the] rising and setting [sun], and shall lie down at table with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of the heavens;
11เราบอกท่านทั้งหลายว่า คนเป็นอันมากจะมาจากทิศตะวันออกและทิศตะวันตก จะมาเอนกายลงกันกับอับราฮัมและอิสอัคและยาโคบในอาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์
12but the sons of the kingdom shall be cast out into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
12แต่บรรดาลูกของอาณาจักรจะต้องถูกขับไล่ไสส่งออกไปในที่มืด ที่นั่นจะมีเสียงร้องไห้ขบเขี้ยวเคี้ยวฟัน"
13And Jesus said to the centurion, Go, and as thou hast believed, be it to thee. And his servant was healed in that hour.
13แล้วพระเยซูจึงตรัสกับนายร้อยว่า "ไปเถิด ท่านได้เชื่ออย่างไร ก็ให้เป็นแก่ท่านอย่างนั้น" ในทันใดนั้นเอง ผู้รับใช้ของเขาก็หายเป็นปกติ
14And when Jesus had come to Peter's house, he saw his mother-in-law laid down and in a fever;
14ครั้นพระเยซูเสด็จเข้าไปในเรือนของเปโตร ก็ทอดพระเนตรเห็นแม่ยายของเปโตรนอนป่วยจับไข้อยู่
15and he touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she arose and served him.
15พอพระองค์ทรงถูกต้องมือนาง ความไข้ก็หาย นางจึงลุกขึ้นปรนนิบัติเขาทั้งหลาย
16And when the evening was come, they brought to him many possessed by demons, and he cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all that were ill;
16พอค่ำลง เขาพาคนเป็นอันมากที่มีผีเข้าสิงมาหาพระองค์ พระองค์ก็ทรงขับผีออกด้วยพระดำรัสของพระองค์ และบรรดาคนเจ็บป่วยนั้น พระองค์ก็ได้ทรงรักษาให้หาย
17so that that should be fulfilled which was spoken through Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities and bore our diseases.
17ทั้งนี้เพื่อจะให้สำเร็จตามพระวจนะโดยอิสยาห์ศาสดาพยากรณ์ที่ว่า `ท่านได้แบกความเจ็บไข้ของเราทั้งหลาย และหอบโรคของเราไป'
18And Jesus, seeing great crowds around him, commanded to depart to the other side.
18ครั้นพระเยซูทอดพระเนตรเห็นประชาชนเป็นอันมากมาล้อมพระองค์ไว้ พระองค์จึงตรัสสั่งให้ข้ามฟากไป
19And a scribe came up and said to him, Teacher, I will follow thee whithersoever thou mayest go.
19ขณะนั้นมีธรรมาจารย์คนหนึ่งมาหาพระองค์ทูลว่า "อาจารย์เจ้าข้า ท่านไปทางไหน ข้าพเจ้าจะตามท่านไปทางนั้น"
20And Jesus says to him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the heaven roosting-places; but the Son of man has not where he may lay his head.
20พระเยซูจึงตรัสกับเขาว่า "สุนัขจิ้งจอกยังมีโพรง และนกในอากาศก็ยังมีรัง แต่บุตรมนุษย์ไม่มีที่ที่จะวางศีรษะ"
21But another of his disciples said to him, Lord, suffer me first to go away and bury my father.
21อีกคนหนึ่งในพวกสาวกของพระองค์มาทูลพระองค์ว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า ขอทรงโปรดให้ข้าพระองค์ไปฝังศพบิดาข้าพระองค์ก่อน"
22But Jesus said to him, Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead.
22พระเยซูจึงตรัสกับเขาว่า "จงตามเรามาเถิด ปล่อยให้คนตายฝังคนตายของเขาเองเถิด"
23And he went on board ship and his disciples followed him;
23เมื่อพระองค์เสด็จลงเรือ พวกสาวกของพระองค์ก็ตามพระองค์ไป
24and behold, [the water] became very agitated on the sea, so that the ship was covered by the waves; but *he* slept.
24ดูเถิด เกิดพายุใหญ่ในทะเลสาบจนคลื่นซัดท่วมเรือ แต่พระองค์บรรทมหลับอยู่
25And the disciples came and awoke him, saying, Lord save: we perish.
25และพวกสาวกของพระองค์ได้มาปลุกพระองค์ ทูลว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า ขอโปรดช่วยพวกเราเถิด พวกเรากำลังจะจมอยู่แล้ว"
26And he says to them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then, having arisen, he rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.
26พระองค์จึงตรัสกับเขาว่า "เหตุไฉนเจ้าจึงขลาดนัก เจ้ามีความเชื่อน้อยเสียจริงๆ" แล้วพระองค์ทรงลุกขึ้นห้ามลมและทะเล คลื่นลมก็สงบเงียบทั่วไป
27But the men were astonished, saying, What sort [of man] is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him?
27คนเหล่านั้นก็อัศจรรย์ใจพูดกันว่า "ท่านผู้นี้เป็นคนอย่างไรหนอ จนชั้นลมและทะเลก็เชื่อฟังท่าน"
28And there met him, when he came to the other side, to the country of the Gergesenes, two possessed by demons, coming out of the tombs, exceeding dangerous, so that no one was able to pass by that way.
28ครั้นพระองค์ทรงข้ามฟากไปถึงแดนกาดาราแล้ว มีคนสองคนออกมาจากอุโมงค์ฝังศพมาพบพระองค์ เขามีผีสิงดุร้ายนัก จนไม่มีผู้ใดอาจเดินทางนั้นได้
29And behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Son of God? hast thou come here before the time to torment us?
29ดูเถิด เขาร้องตะโกนว่า "พระเยซูผู้เป็นพระบุตรของพระเจ้า ท่านจะมายุ่งกับพวกเราทำไม ท่านจะมาทรมานพวกเราก่อนเวลาหรือ"
30Now there was, a great way off from them, a herd of many swine feeding;
30ไกลจากที่นั่นมีสุกรฝูงใหญ่กำลังหากินอยู่
31and the demons besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, send us away into the herd of swine.
31ผีเหล่านั้นได้อ้อนวอนพระองค์ว่า "ถ้าท่านขับพวกเราออก ก็ขอให้เข้าอยู่ในฝูงสุกรนั้นเถิด"
32And he said to them, Go. And they, going out, departed into the herd of swine; and lo, the whole herd [of swine] rushed down the steep slope into the sea, and died in the waters.
32พระองค์จึงตรัสแก่ผีเหล่านั้นว่า "ไปเถอะ" ผีเหล่านั้นก็ออกไปเข้าสิงอยู่ในฝูงสุกร ดูเถิด สุกรทั้งฝูงนั้นก็วิ่งกระโดดจากหน้าผาชันลงไปในทะเล และจมน้ำตายจนสิ้น
33But they that fed them fled, and went away into the city and related everything, and what had happened as to those possessed by demons.
33ฝ่ายคนเลี้ยงสุกรก็หนีเข้าไปในนคร เล่าบรรดาเหตุการณ์ซึ่งเป็นไปนั้น กับเหตุที่เกิดขึ้นแก่คนที่มีผีเข้าสิงอยู่นั้น
34And behold, the whole city went out to meet Jesus; and when they saw him, they begged [him] to go away out of their coasts.
34ดูเถิด คนทั้งนครพากันออกมาพบพระเยซู เมื่อพบพระองค์แล้ว เขาจึงอ้อนวอนขอให้พระองค์ไปเสียจากเขตแดนของเขา
