1Judge not, that ye may not be judged;
1"อย่ากล่าวโทษเขา เพื่อท่านจะไม่ต้องถูกกล่าวโทษ
2for with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged; and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you.
2เพราะว่าท่านทั้งหลายจะกล่าวโทษเขาอย่างไร ท่านจะต้องถูกกล่าวโทษอย่างนั้น และท่านจะตวงให้เขาด้วยทะนานอันใด ท่านจะได้รับตวงด้วยทะนานอันนั้น
3But why lookest thou on the mote that is in the eye of thy brother, but observest not the beam that is in thine eye?
3เหตุไฉนท่านมองดูผงที่อยู่ในตาพี่น้องของท่าน แต่ไม้ทั้งท่อนที่อยู่ในตาของท่านเอง ท่านก็ไม่รู้สึก
4Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Allow [me], I will cast out the mote from thine eye; and behold, the beam is in thine eye?
4หรือเหตุไฉนท่านจะกล่าวแก่พี่น้องของท่านว่า `ให้เราเขี่ยผงออกจากตาของท่าน' แต่ดูเถิด ไม้ทั้งท่อนมีอยู่ในตาของท่านเอง
5Hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine eye, and then thou wilt see clearly to cast out the mote out of the eye of thy brother.
5ท่านคนหน้าซื่อใจคด จงชักไม้ทั้งท่อนออกจากตาของท่านก่อน แล้วท่านจะเห็นได้ถนัด จึงจะเขี่ยผงออกจากตาพี่น้องของท่านได้
6Give not that which is holy to the dogs, nor cast your pearls before the swine, lest they trample them with their feet, and turning round rend you.
6อย่าให้สิ่งซึ่งบริสุทธิ์แก่สุนัข และอย่าโยนไข่มุกของท่านให้แก่สุกร เกลือกว่ามันจะเหยียบย่ำเสีย และจะหันกลับมากัดตัวท่านด้วย
7Ask, and it shall be given to you. Seek, and ye shall find. Knock, and it shall be opened to you.
7จงขอแล้วจะได้ จงหาแล้วจะพบ จงเคาะแล้วจะเปิดให้แก่ท่าน
8For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.
8เพราะว่าทุกคนที่ขอก็ได้ ทุกคนที่แสวงหาก็พบ ทุกคนที่เคาะก็จะเปิดให้เขา
9Or what man is there of you who, if his son shall ask of him a loaf of bread, will give him a stone;
9ในพวกท่านมีใครบ้างที่จะเอาก้อนหินให้บุตร เมื่อเขาขอขนมปัง
10and if he ask a fish, will give him a serpent?
10หรือให้งูเมื่อบุตรขอปลา
11If therefore *ye*, being wicked, know [how] to give good gifts to your children, how much rather shall your Father who is in the heavens give good things to them that ask of him?
11เหตุฉะนั้น ถ้าท่านทั้งหลายเองผู้เป็นคนชั่ว ยังรู้จักให้ของดีแก่บุตรของตน ยิ่งกว่านั้นสักเท่าใดพระบิดาของท่านผู้ทรงสถิตในสวรรค์จะประทานของดีแก่ผู้ที่ขอต่อพระองค์
12Therefore all things whatever ye desire that men should do to you, thus do *ye* also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets.
12เหตุฉะนั้น สิ่งสารพัดซึ่งท่านปรารถนาให้มนุษย์ทำแก่ท่าน จงกระทำอย่างนั้นแก่เขาเหมือนกัน เพราะว่าพระราชบัญญัติและคำของศาสดาพยากรณ์สอนดังนั้น
13Enter in through the narrow gate, for wide the gate and broad the way that leads to destruction, and many are they who enter in through it.
13จงเข้าไปทางประตูแคบ เพราะว่าประตูใหญ่และทางกว้างนั้นนำไปถึงความพินาศ และคนที่เข้าไปทางนั้นมีมาก
14For narrow the gate and straitened the way that leads to life, and they are few who find it.
14เพราะว่าประตูซึ่งนำไปถึงชีวิตนั้นก็คับและทางก็แคบ ผู้ที่หาพบก็มีน้อย
15But beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but within are ravening wolves.
15จงระวังผู้พยากรณ์เท็จที่มาหาท่านนุ่งห่มดุจแกะ แต่ภายในเขาร้ายกาจดุจสุนัขป่า
16By their fruits ye shall know them. Do [men] gather a bunch of grapes from thorns, or from thistles figs?
16ท่านจะรู้จักเขาได้ด้วยผลของเขา มนุษย์เก็บผลองุ่นจากต้นไม้มีหนามหรือ หรือว่าเก็บผลมะเดื่อนั้นจากต้นผักหนาม
17So every good tree produces good fruits, but the worthless tree produces bad fruits.
17ดังนั้นแหละต้นไม้ดีทุกต้นย่อมให้แต่ผลดี ต้นไม้เลวก็ย่อมให้ผลเลว
18A good tree cannot produce bad fruits, nor a worthless tree produce good fruits.
18ต้นไม้ดีจะเกิดผลเลวไม่ได้ หรือต้นไม้เลวจะเกิดผลดีก็ไม่ได้
19Every tree not producing good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire.
19ต้นไม้ทุกต้นซึ่งไม่เกิดผลดีย่อมต้องถูกฟันลงและทิ้งเสียในไฟ
20By their fruits then surely ye shall know them.
20เหตุฉะนั้น ท่านจะรู้จักเขาได้เพราะผลของเขา
21Not every one who says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but he that does the will of my Father who is in the heavens.
21มิใช่ทุกคนที่เรียกเราว่า `พระองค์เจ้าข้า พระองค์เจ้าข้า' จะได้เข้าในอาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์ แต่ผู้ที่ปฏิบัติตามพระทัยพระบิดาของเราผู้ทรงสถิตในสวรรค์จึงจะเข้าได้
22Many shall say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied through *thy* name, and through *thy* name cast out demons, and through *thy* name done many works of power?
22เมื่อถึงวันนั้นจะมีคนเป็นอันมากร้องแก่เราว่า `พระองค์เจ้าข้า พระองค์เจ้าข้า ข้าพระองค์ได้พยากรณ์ในพระนามของพระองค์ และได้ขับผีออกในพระนามของพระองค์ และได้กระทำการมหัศจรรย์เป็นอันมากในพระนามของพระองค์มิใช่หรือ'
23and then will I avow unto them, I never knew you. Depart from me, workers of lawlessness.
23เมื่อนั้นเราจะได้กล่าวแก่เขาว่า `เราไม่เคยรู้จักเจ้าเลย เจ้าผู้กระทำความชั่วช้า จงไปเสียให้พ้นหน้าเรา'
24Whoever therefore hears these my words and does them, I will liken him to a prudent man, who built his house upon the rock;
24เหตุฉะนั้นผู้ใดที่ได้ยินคำเหล่านี้ของเราและประพฤติตาม เขาก็เปรียบเสมือนผู้ที่มีสติปัญญาสร้างเรือนของตนไว้บนศิลา
25and the rain came down, and the streams came, and the winds blew and fell upon that house, and it did not fall, for it had been founded upon the rock.
25ฝนก็ตกและน้ำก็ไหลเชี่ยว ลมก็พัดปะทะเรือนนั้น แต่เรือนมิได้พังลง เพราะว่ารากตั้งอยู่บนศิลา
26And every one who hears these my words and does not do them, he shall be likened to a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand;
26แต่ผู้ที่ได้ยินคำเหล่านี้ของเราและไม่ประพฤติตาม เขาก็เปรียบเสมือนผู้ที่โง่เขลาสร้างเรือนของตนไว้บนทราย
27and the rain came down, and the streams came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house, and it fell, and its fall was great.
27ฝนก็ตกและน้ำก็ไหลเชี่ยว ลมก็พัดปะทะเรือนนั้น เรือนนั้นก็พังทลายลง และการซึ่งพังทลายนั้นก็ใหญ่ยิ่งนัก"
28And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these words, the crowds were astonished at his doctrine,
28ต่อมาครั้นพระเยซูตรัสคำเหล่านี้เสร็จแล้ว ประชาชนทั้งปวงก็อัศจรรย์ใจด้วยคำสั่งสอนของพระองค์
29for he taught them as having authority, and not as their scribes.
29เพราะว่าพระองค์ได้ทรงสั่งสอนเขาด้วยสิทธิอำนาจ ไม่เหมือนพวกธรรมาจารย์
