1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the compassions of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, [which is] your intelligent service.
1พี่น้องทั้งหลาย ด้วยเหตุนี้โดยเห็นแก่ความเมตตากรุณาของพระเจ้า ข้าพเจ้าจึงวิงวอนท่านทั้งหลายให้ถวายตัวของท่านแด่พระองค์ เพื่อเป็นเครื่องบูชาที่มีชีวิต อันบริสุทธิ์ และเป็นที่พอพระทัยพระเจ้า ซึ่งเป็นการปรนนิบัติอันสมควรของท่านทั้งหลาย
2And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of [your] mind, that ye may prove what [is] the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
2อย่าประพฤติตามอย่างชาวโลกนี้ แต่จงรับการเปลี่ยนแปลงจิตใจเสียใหม่ เพื่อท่านจะได้ทราบพระประสงค์ของพระเจ้าว่าอะไรดี อะไรเป็นที่ชอบพระทัย และอะไรดียอดเยี่ยม
3For I say, through the grace which has been given to me, to every one that is among you, not to have high thoughts above what he should think; but to think so as to be wise, as God has dealt to each a measure of faith.
3ข้าพเจ้าขอกล่าวแก่ท่านทั้งหลายทุกคน โดยพระคุณซึ่งทรงประทานแก่ข้าพเจ้าแล้วว่า อย่าคิดถือตัวเกินที่ตนควรจะคิดนั้น แต่จงคิดให้ถ่อมสุขุมสมกับขนาดความเชื่อที่พระเจ้าได้ทรงโปรดประทานแก่มนุษย์ทุกคน
4For, as in one body we have many members, but all the members have not the same office;
4เพราะว่าในร่างกายอันเดียวนั้นเรามีอวัยวะหลายอย่าง และอวัยวะนั้นๆมิได้มีหน้าที่เหมือนกันฉันใด
5thus we, [being] many, are one body in Christ, and each one members one of the other.
5พวกเราผู้เป็นหลายคนยังเป็นกายอันเดียวในพระคริสต์ และเป็นอวัยวะแก่กันและกันฉันนั้น
6But having different gifts, according to the grace which has been given to us, whether [it be] prophecy, [let us prophesy] according to the proportion of faith;
6และเราทุกคนมีของประทานที่ต่างกันตามพระคุณที่ได้ทรงประทานให้แก่เรา คือถ้าเป็นการพยากรณ์ ก็จงพยากรณ์ตามกำลังของความเชื่อ
7or service, [let us occupy ourselves] in service; or he that teaches, in teaching;
7ถ้าเป็นการปรนนิบัติก็จงปรนนิบัติ ถ้าเป็นการสั่งสอนก็จงสั่งสอน
8or he that exhorts, in exhortation; he that gives, in simplicity; he that leads, with diligence; he that shews mercy, with cheerfulness.
8ถ้าเป็นการเตือนสติก็จงเตือนสติ ถ้าเป็นการบริจาคก็จงให้โดยเต็มใจ ผู้ที่ครอบครองก็จงครอบครองด้วยเอาใจใส่ ผู้ที่แสดงความเมตตาก็จงแสดงด้วยใจยินดี
9Let love be unfeigned; abhorring evil; cleaving to good:
9จงให้ความรักปราศจากมารยา จงเกลียดชังสิ่งที่ชั่ว จงยึดมั่นในสิ่งที่ดี
10as to brotherly love, kindly affectioned towards one another: as to honour, each taking the lead in paying it to the other:
10จงรักกันฉันพี่น้อง ส่วนการที่ให้เกียรติแก่กันและกันนั้น จงถือว่าผู้อื่นดีกว่าตัว
11as to diligent zealousness, not slothful; in spirit fervent; serving the Lord.
11อย่าเกียจคร้านในการงาน จงมีจิตใจกระตือรือร้น จงปรนนิบัติองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า
12As regards hope, rejoicing: as regards tribulation, enduring: as regards prayer, persevering:
12จงชื่นชมยินดีในความหวัง จงอดทนต่อความยากลำบาก จงขะมักเขม้นอธิษฐาน
13distributing to the necessities of the saints; given to hospitality.
13จงช่วยวิสุทธิชนเมื่อเขาขัดสน จงมีน้ำใจอัธยาศัยไมตรี
14Bless them that persecute you; bless, and curse not.
14จงอวยพรแก่คนที่ข่มเหงท่าน จงอวยพร อย่าแช่งด่าเลย
15Rejoice with those that rejoice, weep with those that weep.
15จงชื่นชมยินดีกับผู้ที่มีความชื่นชมยินดี จงร้องไห้กับผู้ที่ร้องไห้
16Have the same respect one for another, not minding high things, but going along with the lowly: be not wise in your own eyes:
16จงเป็นน้ำหนึ่งใจเดียวกัน อย่าใฝ่สูง แต่จงถ่อมใจลงมาหาคนที่ต่ำต้อย อย่าถือว่าตัวฉลาด
17recompensing to no one evil for evil: providing things honest before all men:
17อย่าทำชั่วตอบแทนชั่วแก่ผู้หนึ่งผู้ใดเลย `แต่จงมุ่งกระทำสิ่งที่ซื่อสัตย์ในสายตาของคนทั้งปวง'
18if possible, as far as depends on you, living in peace with all men;
18ถ้าเป็นได้คือเรื่องที่ขึ้นอยู่กับท่าน จงอยู่อย่างสงบสุขกับทุกคน
19not avenging yourselves, beloved, but give place to wrath; for it is written, Vengeance [belongs] to me, *I* will recompense, saith the Lord.
19ท่านผู้เป็นที่รักของข้าพเจ้า อย่าทำการแก้แค้น แต่จงมอบการนั้นไว้แล้วแต่พระเจ้าจะทรงลงพระอาชญา เพราะมีคำเขียนไว้แล้วว่า `องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัสว่า "การแก้แค้นเป็นของเรา เราเองจะตอบสนอง"
20If therefore thine enemy should hunger, feed him; if he should thirst, give him drink; for, so doing, thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head.
20เหตุฉะนั้น ถ้าศัตรูของท่านหิว จงให้อาหารเขารับประทาน ถ้าเขากระหาย จงให้น้ำเขาดื่ม เพราะว่าการทำอย่างนั้นเป็นการสุมถ่านที่ลุกโพลงไว้บนศีรษะของเขา'
21Be not overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
21อย่าให้ความชั่วชนะท่านได้ แต่จงชนะความชั่วด้วยความดี
