¹Woe to her that is rebellious and corrupted, to the oppressing city!

¹วิบัติแก่เมืองนี้ที่โสโครกและเป็นมลทิน เป็นเมืองที่บีบบังคับเขา

²She hearkened not to the voice; she received not correction; she confided not in Jehovah; she drew not near her God.

²เธอไม่ยอมเชื่อฟังเสียงใดๆ และไม่ยอมรับการตีสอนใดๆ เธอไม่วางใจในพระเยโฮวาห์ และเธอไม่เข้ามาใกล้พระเจ้าของเธอ

³Her princes in the midst of her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves, that leave nothing for the morning.

³เจ้านายของเธอก็เหมือนสิงโตที่คำราม ผู้พิพากษาของเธอก็เหมือนหมาป่ายามเย็น ซึ่งไม่แทะกระดูกจนกระทั่งถึงรุ่งเช้า

⁴Her prophets are vain-glorious, treacherous persons; her priests profane the sanctuary, they do violence to the law.

⁴ผู้พยากรณ์ของเธอเป็นคนเบาปัญญา เป็นคนทรยศ พวกปุโรหิตของเธอก็กระทำสถานบริสุทธิ์ให้มัวหมอง เขาฝ่าฝืนต่อพระราชบัญญัติ

⁵The righteous Jehovah is in the midst of her: he doeth no wrong. Every morning doth he bring his judgment to light; it faileth not: but the unrighteous knoweth no shame.

⁵พระเยโฮวาห์ผู้ทรงดำรงอยู่ในเมืองนั้นชอบธรรม พระองค์จะมิได้ทรงกระทำความชั่วช้าเลย ทุกเช้าพระองค์สำแดงคำตัดสินของพระองค์ พระองค์มิได้ทรงขาดเลย แต่คนอธรรมไม่รู้จักอาย

⁶I have cut off nations: their battlements are desolate; I made their streets waste, that none passeth by; their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, so that there is no inhabitant.

⁶"เราได้ขจัดประชาชาติทั้งหลายออกเสียแล้ว หอคอยของเขาก็รกร้าง เรากระทำให้ถนนของเมืองนั้นเสียไปเปล่าๆ ไม่มีใครผ่านไปมา หัวเมืองของเขาถูกทำลาย เพื่อจะไม่มีคน ไม่มีชาวเมืองอยู่เลย

⁷I said, Only fear me, receive correction; so her dwelling shall not be cut off, howsoever I may punish her. But they rose early, they corrupted all their doings.

⁷เรากล่าวว่า `แท้จริง เมืองนั้นจะยำเกรงเรา เธอจะยอมรับคำสั่งสอน' เพื่อที่อาศัยของเขาจะไม่ถูกตัดออก เราลงโทษเขาอย่างไรก็ตาม แต่เขาทั้งหลายยิ่งกลับร้อนใจที่จะให้การกระทำของเขาเสื่อมทราม"

⁸Therefore wait ye for me, saith Jehovah, until the day that I rise up to the prey; for my determination is to assemble the nations, that I may gather the kingdoms together, to pour upon them mine indignation, -- all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

⁸พระเยโฮวาห์จึงตรัสว่า "เพราะฉะนั้นจงคอยเรา คอยวันที่เราลุกขึ้นเพื่อทำการปล้น เพราะการตกลงใจของเราก็คือจะรวมประชาชาติ ให้ราชอาณาจักรชุมนุมกัน เพื่อเทความกริ้วของเราบนเขาทั้งหลาย คือความร้อนแรงแห่งความโกรธของเรา เพราะว่าพิภพทั้งสิ้นจะถูกเผาผลาญในไฟแห่งความหวงแหนของเรา

⁹For then will I turn to the peoples a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of Jehovah, to serve him with one consent.

⁹ในคราวนั้น เราจะให้ประชาชนนั้นหันไปใช้ภาษาบริสุทธิ์ เพื่อว่าทุกคนจะร้องทูลออกพระนามพระเยโฮวาห์ และปรนนิบัตพระองค์เป็นใจเดียวกัน

¹⁰From beyond the rivers of Cush my suppliants, the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine oblation.

¹⁰บุคคลที่ทูลขอต่อเรา คือบุตรสาวแห่งคนของเราที่ถูกกระจัดกระจายไป จะนำเอาเครื่องบูชาของเรามาจากฟากข้างโน้นของแม่น้ำแห่งเอธิโอเปีย

¹¹In that day thou shalt not be ashamed for all thy doings wherein thou hast transgressed against me; for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that exult in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of my holy mountain.

¹¹ในวันนั้น เจ้าจะไม่ถูกกระทำให้อับอายด้วยการกระทำทั้งสิ้นซึ่งเจ้าได้ละเมิดต่อเรา เพราะในเวลานั้นเราจะคัดผู้โอ้อวดเห่อเหิมนั้นออกเสียจากท่ามกลางเจ้า เจ้าจึงจะไม่เย่อหยิ่งจองหองเพราะเหตุภูเขาบริสุทธิ์ของเราอีกต่อไป

¹²And I will leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of Jehovah.

¹²เพราะเราจะเหลือแต่คนที่ทุกข์ยากและขัดสนไว้ในท่ามกลางเจ้า เขาจะวางใจในพระนามแห่งพระเยโฮวาห์

¹³The remnant of Israel shall not work unrighteousness, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: but *they* shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.

¹³บรรดาคนที่เหลืออยู่ในอิสราเอล เขาจะไม่กระทำความชั่วช้า และไม่กล่าวคำมุสา และในปากของเขานั้นจะหาลิ้นที่ล่อลวงก็ไม่มี เพราะเขาทั้งหลายจะเที่ยวหากินและนอนลง และไม่มีผู้ใดกระทำให้เขากลัวเกรง

¹⁴Exult, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; rejoice and be glad with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem:

¹⁴โอ บุตรสาวแห่งศิโยนเอ๋ย จงร้องเพลงเสียงดัง โอ อิสราเอลเอ๋ย จงโห่ร้องเถิด จงเปรมปรีดิ์และลิงโลดด้วยเต็มใจของเจ้าเถิด โอ บุตรสาวแห่งเยรูซาเล็ม

¹⁵Jehovah hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy; the King of Israel, Jehovah, is in the midst of thee; thou shalt not see evil any more.

¹⁵พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงล้มเลิกการพิพากษาลงโทษเจ้าแล้ว พระองค์ทรงขับไล่ศัตรูของเจ้าออกไปแล้ว กษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอลคือพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงอยู่ท่ามกลางเจ้า เจ้าจะไม่พบความชั่วร้ายอีกต่อไป

¹⁶In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear not; Zion, let not thy hands be slack.

¹⁶ในวันนั้น เขาจะพูดกับเยรูซาเล็มว่า `อย่ากลัวเลย' และพูดกับศิโยนว่า `อย่าให้มือของเจ้าอ่อนเพลียไป'

¹⁷Jehovah thy God is in thy midst, a mighty one that will save: he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love; he will exult over thee with singing.

¹⁷พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเจ้าซึ่งอยู่ท่ามกลางเจ้าทรงมหิทธิฤทธิ์ พระองค์จะทรงช่วยให้รอด พระองค์จะทรงเปรมปรีดิ์เพราะเจ้าด้วยความยินดี พระองค์จะทรงพำนักในความรักของพระองค์ พระองค์จะทรงเริงโลดเพราะเจ้าด้วยร้องเพลงเสียงดัง

¹⁸I will gather them that sorrow for the solemn assemblies, who were of thee: the reproach of it was a burden [unto them].

¹⁸เราจะรวบรวมคนที่เศร้าโศกให้มายังประชุมอันศักดิ์สิทธิ์ คือคนในพวกเจ้าซึ่งต้องทนต่อการเยาะเย้ย

¹⁹Behold, at that time I will deal with all them that afflict thee; and I will save her that halted, and gather her that was driven out; and I will make them a praise and a name in all the lands where they have been put to shame.

¹⁹ดูเถิด ในคราวนั้นเราจะกวาดล้างผู้ที่บีบบังคับเจ้าทุกคน เราจะช่วยคนขาพิการให้รอดพ้น และรวบรวมคนที่กระจัดกระจายไป และเราจะเปลี่ยนความอับอายของเขาให้เป็นความน่าสรรเสริญ และให้เป็นเสียงลือไปทั่วโลก

²⁰At that time will I bring you, yea, at the time that I gather you; for I will make you a name and a praise, among all the peoples of the earth, when I shall turn again your captivity before your eyes, saith Jehovah.

²⁰ในคราวนั้นเราจะนำเจ้ากลับเข้ามา คือในคราวที่เรารวบรวมพวกเจ้าเข้าด้วยกัน เออ เราจะกระทำให้เจ้ามีชื่อเสียงและเป็นที่สรรเสริญในท่ามกลางบรรดาชนชาติทั้งหลายของโลก คือเมื่อเราให้เจ้ากลับสู่สภาพเดิมต่อหน้าต่อตาเจ้า" พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้แหละ
