1Moreover Elihu answered and said,
1Elihu konuşmasına şöyle devam etti:
2Hear my words, ye wise [men]; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.
2‹‹Ey bilgeler, sözlerimi dinleyin,Kulak verin bana, ey bilgi sahipleri.
3For the ear trieth words, as the palate tasteth food.
3Çünkü damak nasıl yemeği tadarsa,Kulak da sözleri sınar.
4Let us choose for ourselves what is right; let us know among ourselves what is good!
4Gelin, doğruyu seçelim,İyiyi birlikte öğrenelim.
5For Job hath said, I am righteous, and ùGod hath taken away my judgment:
5‹‹Çünkü Eyüp, ‹Ben suçsuzum› diyor,‹Tanrı hakkımı elimden aldı.
6Should I lie against my right? My wound is incurable without transgression.
6Haklı olduğum halde yalancı sayılıyorum,Suçsuz olduğum halde okunla yaraladın beni.›
7What man is like Job? he drinketh up scorning like water,
7Eyüp gibisi var mı?Alayı su gibi içiyor!
8And goeth in company with workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men.
8Kötülük yapanlarla dostluk edip geziyor,Kötülerle aynı yolda yürüyor.
9For he hath said, It profiteth not a man if he delight himself in God.
9Çünkü, ‹Tanrıyı hoşnut etmeye çalışmakİnsana yarar getirmez› diyor.
10Therefore hearken unto me, ye men of understanding: Far be wickedness from ùGod, and wrong from the Almighty!
10‹‹Bu yüzden, ey sağduyulu insanlar, beni dinleyin!Tanrı kötülük yapar mı,Her Şeye Gücü Yeten haksızlık eder mi? Asla!
11For a man's work will he render to him, and cause every one to find according to [his] way.
11Çünkü O herkese yaptığının karşılığını öder,Hak ettiğini başına getirir.
12Yea, surely, ùGod acteth not wickedly, and the Almighty perverteth not judgment.
12Tanrı kesinlikle kötülük etmez,Her Şeye Gücü Yeten adaleti saptırmaz.
13Who hath entrusted to him the earth? and who hath disposed the whole world?
13Kim yeryüzünü Ona emanet etti?Kim Onu bütün dünyanın başına atadı?
14If he only thought of himself, [and] gathered unto him his spirit and his breath,
14Eğer niyet eder deRuhunu ve soluğunu geri çekerse,
15All flesh would expire together, and man would return to the dust.
15Bütün insanlık bir anda yok olur,İnsan yine toprağa döner.
16If now [thou hast] understanding, hear this: give ear to the voice of my words!
16‹‹Aklın varsa dinle,Kulak ver sözlerime.
17Should he that hateth right indeed govern? and wilt thou condemn the All-just?
17Adaletten nefret eden hiç hüküm sürebilir mi?Adil ve güçlü olanı suçlayacak mısın?
18Shall one say to a king, Belial? to nobles, Wicked?
18Krallara, ‹Değersizsiniz›,Soylulara, ‹Kötüsünüz› diyen,
19[How then to him] that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich man more than the poor? for they are all the work of his hands.
19Önderlere ayrıcalık tanımayan,Zengini yoksuldan çok önemsemeyen O değil mi?Çünkü hepsi Onun ellerinin işidir.
20In a moment they die, even at midnight the people are convulsed and pass away; and the strong are taken away without hand.
20Gece yarısı bir anda ölürler,Herkes sarsılır, ölüp gider,Güçlüler de insan eli değmeden alınıp götürülür.
21For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his steps.
21‹‹Tanrının gözleri insanların yolundan ayrılmaz,Attıkları her adımı görür.
22There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
22Kötülük yapanların gizlenebileceğiNe karanlık bir yer vardır, ne de ölüm gölgesi.
23For he doth not long consider a man, to bring him before ùGod in judgment.
23Yargılanmak için önüne gelsinler diye,Tanrı insanları sorgulamaya pek gerek duymaz.
24He breaketh in pieces mighty men without inquiry, and setteth others in their stead;
24Araştırmadan güçlü insanları kırar,Onların yerine başkalarını diker.
25Since he knoweth their actions; and he overthroweth [them] in the night, and they are crushed.
25Çünkü ne yaptıklarını bilir,Gece onları deviriverir, ezilirler.
26He striketh them as wicked men in the open sight of others,
26Herkesin gözü önündeKötülükleri yüzünden onları cezalandırır;
27Because they have turned back from him, and would consider none of his ways;
27Artık Onun ardından gitmedikleri,Yollarının hiçbirini dikkate almadıkları için.
28So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto him, and he heareth the cry of the afflicted.
28Yoksulun feryadını Ona duyurdular;Düşkünlerin feryadını işitti.
29When he giveth quietness, who then will disturb? and when he hideth [his] face, who shall behold him? and this towards a nation, or towards a man alike;
29Ama Tanrı sessiz kalırsa kim Onu suçlayabilir?Yüzünü gizlerse kim Onu görebilir?Bir ulusa karşı da bir insana karşı da O hep aynıdır,
30That the ungodly man reign not, that the people be not ensnared.
30Tanrısız insan krallık etmesin,Halka tuzak kurmasın diye.
31For hath he said unto ùGod, I bear [chastisement], I will not offend;
31‹‹Kimse Tanrıya,‹Suçluyum, artık kötülük yapmayacağım› dedi mi,
32What I see not, teach thou me; if I have done wrong, I will do so no more?
32‹Göremediğimi sen bana öğret,Haksızlık ettimse, bir daha etmem?›
33Shall he recompense according to thy mind? for thou hast refused [his judgment]; for thou so choosest, and not I; speak then what thou knowest.
33Onu reddettiğin halde,Senin keyfince mi seni ödüllendirmeli?Çünkü karar verecek olan sensin, ben değil,Öyleyse anlat bana bildiğini.
34Men of understanding will say to me, and a wise man who heareth me:
34‹‹Sağduyulu insanlar,Beni dinleyen bilgeler diyecekler ki,
35Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were not with intelligence.
35‹Eyüp bilgisizce konuşuyor,Sözlerinin değeri yok.›
36Would that Job may be tried unto the end, because of [his] answers after the manner of evil men!
36Kötü biri gibi yanıtladığı içinKeşke Eyüpün sınanması sonsuza dek sürse!
37For he addeth rebellion unto his sin, he clappeth [his hands] among us, and multiplieth his words against ùGod.
37Çünkü günahına isyan da ekliyor,Önümüzde alay edercesine el çırpıyor,Tanrı'ya karşı konuştukça konuşuyor.››
