¹Howbeit, Job, I pray thee, hear mine utterances, and hearken to all my words.

¹‹‹Ama şimdi lütfen sözümü dinle, Eyüp,Söyleyeceğim her şeye kulak ver.

²Behold now, I have opened my mouth, my tongue speaketh in my palate,

²Ağzımı açtım açacağım,Söyleyeceklerim dilimin ucunda.

³My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart, and my lips shall utter knowledge purely.

³Sözlerim temiz bir yürekten çıkıyor,Dudaklarım bildiklerini içtenlikle söylüyor.

⁴The Spirit of ùGod hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.

⁴Beni Tanrının Ruhu yarattı,Her Şeye Gücü Yetenin soluğu yaşam veriyor bana.

⁵If thou canst, answer me; array [thy words] before me: take thy stand.

⁵Elinden gelirse beni yanıtla,Kendini hazırla, karşımda dur.

⁶Behold, before ùGod I am as thou; I also am formed out of the clay.

⁶Tanrının önünde ben de tıpkı senin gibiyim,Ben de balçıktan yaratıldım.

⁷Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, nor my burden be heavy upon thee.

⁷Onun için dehşetim seni yıldırmasın,Baskım sana ağır gelmesin.

⁸Surely thou hast spoken in my hearing, and I have heard the voice of [thy] words: --

⁸‹‹Sesin hâlâ kulaklarımda,Şöyle demiştin:

⁹I am clean without transgression; I am pure, and there is no iniquity in me;

⁹‹Ben kusursuz ve günahsızım,Temiz ve suçsuzum.

¹⁰Lo, he findeth occasions of hostility against me, he counteth me for his enemy;

¹⁰Yine de Tanrı bana karşı bahane arıyor,Beni düşman görüyor.

¹¹He putteth my feet in the stocks, he marketh all my paths.

¹¹Ayaklarımı tomruğa vuruyor,Yollarımı gözetliyor.›

¹²Behold, I will answer thee in this, thou art not right; for +God is greater than man.

¹²‹‹Ama sana şunu söyleyeyim,Bu konuda haksızsın.Çünkü Tanrı insandan büyüktür.

¹³Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters.

¹³İnsanın hiçbir sözünü yanıtlamıyor diyeNiçin Onunla çekişiyorsun?

¹⁴For ùGod speaketh once, and twice, -- [and man] perceiveth it not --

¹⁴Çünkü insan anlamasa da,Tanrı şu ya da bu yolla konuşur.

¹⁵In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;

¹⁵Rüyada, geceleyin görümde,İnsanları ağır uyku basınca,Yatakta yatarlarken,

¹⁶Then he openeth men's ears, and sealeth their instruction,

¹⁶Kulaklarına konuşur,Uyarısıyla onları korkutur;

¹⁷That he may withdraw man [from his] work, and hide pride from man.

¹⁷Onları yaptıkları kötülükten döndürmek,Gururdan uzak tutmak,

¹⁸He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from passing away by the sword.

¹⁸Canlarını çukurdan,Hayatlarını ölümden kurtarmak için.

¹⁹He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and with constant strife in his bones;

¹⁹İnsan yatağında acılarla,Kemiklerinde dinmez sızılarla yola getirilir.

²⁰And his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty food;

²⁰Öyle ki, içi yemek kaldırmaz,En lezzetli yiyecekten tiksinir.

²¹His flesh is consumed away from view, and his bones that were not seen stick out;

²¹Eti erir, görünmez olur,Gözükmeyen kemikleri ortaya çıkar.

²²And his soul draweth near to the pit, and his life to the destroyers.

²²Canı çukura,Hayatı ölüm meleklerine yaklaşır.

²³If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his duty;

²³‹‹Yine de insana doğruyu bildirmek içinYanında bir melek, bin melekten biriArabulucu olarak bulunursa,

²⁴Then he will be gracious unto him, and say, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.

²⁴Ona lütfeder de,‹Onu ölüm çukuruna inmekten kurtar,Ben fidyeyi buldum› derse,

²⁵His flesh shall be fresher than in childhood; he shall return to the days of his youth.

²⁵Eti çocuk eti gibi yenilenir,Gençlik günlerine döner.

²⁶He shall pray unto +God, and he will receive him with favour; and he shall see his face with shoutings, and he will render unto man his righteousness.

²⁶Dua ettiğinde Tanrı ondan hoşnut kalır,O da Tanrının yüzünü görüp sevinir.Tanrı onun durumunu düzeltir.

²⁷He will sing before men, and say, I have sinned, and perverted what was right, and it hath not been requited to me;

²⁷Sonra insanların önünde türkü çağırır:‹Günah işleyip doğru yoldan saptım,Ama Tanrı hak ettiğim cezayı vermedi bana,

²⁸He hath delivered my soul from going into the pit, and my life shall see the light.

²⁸Canımı çukura inmekten O kurtardı,Işığı görmek için yaşayacağım.›

²⁹Lo, all these [things] worketh ùGod twice, thrice, with man,

²⁹‹‹İşte, insanın canını çukurdan çıkarmak,Onu yaşam ışığıyla aydınlatmak içinTanrı bütün bunları iki kez,Hatta üç kez yapar.

³⁰To bring back his soul from the pit, that he may be enlightened with the light of the living.

³¹‹‹İyi dinle, Eyüp, kulak ver,Sen sus, ben konuşacağım.

³¹Mark well, Job, hearken unto me; be silent, and I will speak.

³²Söyleyeceğin bir şey varsa söyle,Çünkü seni haklı çıkarmak isterim.

³²If thou hast anything to say, answer me; speak, for I desire to justify thee.

³³Yoksa, beni dinle,Sus da sana bilgelik öğreteyim.››

³³If not, hearken thou unto me; be silent, and I will teach thee wisdom.
